  1. That's all the space you get. Now, it MIGHT be possible to rip out that rear bulkhead at the back of the wing and fill the middle area with tiles so cargo pallets could slide up the fuselage. But that would definitely prevent the undercarriage folding internally if that's what you wanted to do as well. Dr. S.
  2. Well, since no-one seems to have done one for this set, here we go.... Here's the complete set in all its glory. Yes, I really like it, but then, Tabletown has the capacity to support it and my green Army have their eyes on it as a potential military transport as well. :-) I'll start out with the little airport ground car thingy - very neat and functional, here are views front and back: Next up, the steps which allow the plane crew to embark and disembark: And to round off this little trio, the cargo loading platform, here in its lowered position. Note the prong thingy sticking out from the rear: And here raised. The prong thingy is now hinged up to support the back of the platform and keep it level: Here's a slightly different angle so you can see the pieces under there: The all-important cargo itself! Hmmm...not much for a plane this size... The cargo pallet slots neatly onto the loading platform: Here's the complete set of ground equipment - all attached: And so onto the plane itself. Note that unlike the other large planes, the main wing sits at the TOP of the row of bricks making up the side of the fuselage: I took it apart a little so you can see the internal construction of the fuselage. Note that the cargo area is really small, right at the back. What else is this thing carrying? Illegal immigrants? :-) A picture of the rear of the fuselage, just because I like the sticker: Front landing gear. WAY better than on the other large planes. I don't know if this is a new piece or what but I've had no problems with it at all, and my kids have been playing with it as well: The rather sexy rear undercarriage - this area reminds me of one of those giant Russian transport planes - wicked: Those angled grey slopes atop each side of the rear undercarriage annoy the heck out of me as they KEEP COMING OFF whenever I pick the plane up. I think a 1x4 plate on top to bind them together might solve that. A slightly blurry view (sorry) from underneath. The gear LOOKS like it might be capable of retracting internally, but alas, no. This is a shame as there's certainly enough room in there and it's a wasted opportunity IMO. Might have to modify that... A view of one of the four engines, I personally think they look too small and should have something under the wing as well to make them rounder: Cockpit: Crew door, open. I LOVE the smooth action of these doors and the way they seal flush against the fuselage when closed: Cargo door, open: Crew door with docked ladder: Cargo door with docked loading platform: Cargo slots inside and locks into place the same way it sits on the loader, neat: The minifigs, sorry this one is a bit blurry: And that concludes this week's "Show and Tell". Dr. S.
  3. OK, I'll get some pictures up tonight. Dr. S.
  4. I have a copy of this set now - would anyone be interested in a picture review? I really like it, as it happens. :-D Dr. S.
  5. The initial reaction to the EN scared the willies out of me, hence my relative lack of participation recently. But then, some people argue that the UN doesn't do anything either...so maybe I'm just being true to form. :-D What do I bring to EB? Erm...evil, villainy, a wry sense of humour and cakes. Oh, I also think up stupid ideas like the town-twinning thing and helping to found the EN, and then totally fail to follow through on any of them. I also bring Grunts, Tanks, the desire for absolute world domination and lots of awe at some of the MOCs out there (my own are appalling, let's be honest). I try to benefit EB, but I think I get more from it than it gets from me. 8-| Dr. S.
  6. Erm...to keep the sun from his eyes? Lots of my Grunts have glasses, including the Captain. No-one has ever asked before! :-D Oh, and I won the bet I made with myself. I predicted the first reply would contain the phrase "not as funny as the others" as it seems to be the fashionable thing to say. Now I get to buy myself some more LEGO with my winnings! :-) Dr. S.
  7. Linky Dr. S.
  8. Here's mine. Dr. S.
  9. That food is by Peter Reid, a fellow member of the Brickish Association - his LEGO room is awesome. I even got to swoosh his spaceships a couple of weeks ago at a LEGO House-Fest - before the Tabletown Army invaded his Moonbase and took over. :-D Dr. S.
  10. Engineers have been toiling on the new A3 variant of the Adjudicator. This version removes the main armament and replaces it with a Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) to saturate enemy defences with fire. Linky Sample images: Dr. S.
  11. No, someone else mentioned it before, but I've never seen it myself. Dr. S.
  12. Sorry, what's RVB? Dr. S.
  13. Linky Dr. S.
  14. This is my cat Fox when he was a Kitten - this is a VERY early version of Tabletown, it was much smaller back then... Fox is dead now. :-( Dr. S.
  15. You can get this image in three wallpaper sizes from my website: Linky Dr. S.
  16. Interesting to hear that you are doing that, and good luck to you. I only bought the BL sets so I could have an "enemy" for Tabletown to rally against (yes, I am manipulating my population, that's how politics works :-D ) so I won't be swapping any parts over between the two. Dr. S.
  17. This any better? Main controls now angled internally. Dr. S.
  18. As the leader of a nation which has fought the Best Lock Empire for years, this is sacrilege! :-D Every Best Lock military set I've bought has been universally appalling in design, build and quality. Bricks that don't clutch, sets that rely on one whole half of a building hanging off the other half by one stud so you can't pick the thing up without it falling to pieces and just shoddy, shoddy moulding and presentation. This is why Tabletown WILL win the war. :-) Dr. S.
  19. Sorry I'm late to this thread but I just saw it for the first time (that's what happens when you hang out in Town all the time) and I just wanted to say that the interior of this vehicle is super-cool, really really mega-excellent. I love it. It's big, it's black and it rocks - wicked. Dr. S.
  20. Yes I bought two of them with the express intention of building these vehicles. Not all the parts are from those sets though, there's a lot underneath which is just generic and the gun is from something else altogether. Dr. S.
  21. Here are some pictures of two slightly modified Adjudicators - they have replaced the secondary laser cannons with more traditional bullet-firing Gatling guns. Note the addition of ammunition feeds from internal magazine spaces. Dr. S.
  22. Thanks for the review. Mine's on order with S@H - they had a special 4-in-1 bundle with this, the post van, the freight plane and the new freight truck and forklift with money off. Can't wait! Dr. S.
  23. This is as close as my children get to my LEGO. Dr. S.
  24. Neat! I am honoured that you should be inspired by my own modest efforts - these are really nice! Dr. S.
