  1. I think I just soiled myself laughing - brilliant stuff! Dr. S.
  2. I have Luke's from episode IV and Vader's from episode V. I have my eye on Obi-Wan's from episode III, it's really nice. Dr. S.
  3. I go mad for those "Really Useful" boxes they come in loads of different sizes, from MASSIVE to tiny - I've just stored the Tabletown Army in individual containers inside larger ones for transport - it's like a LEGO version of one of those Russian dolls. Anyway, look what I found in Staples today - it's quite expensive at £13.00 a shot but it's a little storage rack containing nine small RU boxes - three 0.3 litre boxes on the bottom row and six 0.2 litre boxes on the top two rows. They are good for tiny LEGO elements. Probably not much good for larger collections unless you buy LOADS of them, I bought two and I still need more but I like them. There's a larger one with more boxes, sixteen, for 20 quid. Ooh, forgot to say, there are holes at the back in each corner so you can mount them on the wall. (No, I'm not on commission) Dr. S.
  4. You may recognise a special "guest star" from an earlier strip. Enjoy! Linky Dr. S.
  5. Indeed - what's the point of being grown up if you can't act childish? Actually, Pete's one of my triumvirate of LEGO Gods. Ed' is another. You're the third! Dr. S.
  6. No, although Peter Reid had a big hand in persuading me. Actually, they were kind of in-between, large areas were studless, and then the side panels weren't - so I decided to jump one way rather than leave them as they were. That was it really. Dr. S.
  7. Just something I've been meaning to do for a while. Click on each picture for more. The Sentinel (below) has now been revised as a studless model. Probably the easiest one to do, the Sentinel only had about 6 studs showing in the first place! Of course given such a small model, I had to be careful with my piece substitution in case I destabilise the whole build. I had a bit of a debate with myself as to whether or not to make the passenger/freight area of the Vigil (below) studless, but went with it anyway. To be honest, the Infiltrator (below) does need some serious reworking, but I've made it studless for now anyway - this was the hardest to do and I'm not 100% happy with the overall result, but on the basis that it needs extra work anyway, it'll do for now. The Triumph (below) was an easy one to modify, with just the side armour being the major issue - although keen LAV spotters will note that the 8x1 bricks below the guns have been swapped for 2 8x1 plates topped off with one 8x1 tile. Smoo-ooth... The Aggressor (below) took a lot of tiles to convert but the results are very nice, especially at the rear which has been modified slightly to accommodate the extra pieces. I particularly like the new side armour. The Vindicator (below) was 90% studless already, just the side armour needed doing - and now it is perfect! Dr. S.
  8. Helmets from BrickForge. Someone on Flickr just asked me how much this lot cost, I reckon between £80.00 and £90.00. Dr. S.
  9. Here are some pictures of my modest German Army on parade - this is as large as it's going to get, all troops are Brickarmed, the chaps in the grey are from Brickarms itself. All my German troops are "fleshies" - just the way it worked out. Full set of images here. Dr. S.
  10. Corrupted data of course. Dr. S.
  11. Beautiful in its functionality and nastiness... Dr. S.
  12. Paul, this is so so wrong. These men are far to efficient to be a British road repair crew. Where are the cups of tea? Where are the builder's bums? Where are the men lounging around in the cab' of the truck with copies of The Sun ogling Page 3? Where's the guy leaning asleep on his pickaxe? Where is the line of angry frustrated drivers, the bored guy with a "STOP and GO" sign who plays mind games with said drivers? Where is the three-days worth of delay because...well because they just can't be bothered? Only kidding - this is great! Love the traffic cones, and the...well...the whole thing really. Dr. S.
  13. Let's hope no-one makes a Third Reich model... *shudder* Dr. S.
  14. Re' the plane, as credited at the bottom of the strip, it was built by Ed' Diment - AKA LEGO Monster - in Tabletown colours. Dr. S.
  15. Back to our normal timeline with episode 34: Linky. Dr. S.
  16. Yeah, I had children counting the troops, adults reading the Grunts strips I'd had printed and laminated, people trying to spot the duplicate heads (of which there are only a couple) and one guy stood with me for about 20 minutes asking me all about Tabletown and the Army - actually, he might have been a spy from BestLockLand! It was really good. Dr. S. Thank you Ralph - you are another genius who's work I admire and it was good to see you again, hope you feel better soon. Your B1 bomber is mental by the way...a truly incredible piece of work. I'm glad there wasn't a war between your table and mine, I think one attack by your planes would have ended my Army there and then. Dr. S. Thanks. The town hall thingy is meant to be the Grunts regimental barracks - it's just a backdrop for the display though, so it is essentially built exactly as you state, like a film set - a flat panel with some detailing on it. I felt it needed something there to bring the parade together. It has already appeared in one of the Grunts strips - episode 31 IIRC. I'll work on something bigger and better for future displays, but the focus is really meant to be the troops and the vehicles. Dr. S.
  17. Something I’ve had in mind for a little while, a rather different episode of Grunts! Linky. Dr. S.
  18. The fighter was built by Ed Diment - a genius with anything he touches. It's on my dining room table now. Dr. S.
  19. The 5th Annual Petersfield LEGO Show was held at the Petersfield Community centre on Saturday 12/04/08. This was my first ever public display! Here's what I had laid out: And here's me! Don't worry, I always look miserable...I was having a great time! Full pictures at Tabletown here or on Flickr. Dr. S.
  20. Linky. Dr. S.
  21. Hi Ed. You know me, of course... :-$ Dr. S.
  22. What do you do when you are a man who has everything? Answer - indulge yourself, go a little mad (der) and just enjoy it... Yes, this is how Doctor Sinister relaxes. Dr. S.
  23. Agree 100% but I just don't have any treads right now. All the TA vehicles are built like this, it's meant to convey the idea that there are treads under there. Dr. S.
  24. Crap? Sorry, but no, the compositions are very nicely done. He's not going for technical excellence in LEGO, he's just recreating classic images. I find it odd that anyone would regard these as "crap", it's art. I've been following this chap's work for some time. Worth checking out his Star Wars photos on Flickr - Balakov is his name. Dr. S.
