  1. Yes! Got a smaller one on my desk as well. Dr. S.
  2. Which is the last episode you saw? I've run four new ones relatively recently. To avoid missing them, you can either bookmark the main Grunts page here, or sign up to the Tabletown forums here. I don't always post them here any more. Dr. S.
  3. I'm loving these - the little one is cool, but the large one is excellent - really good, and it inspires me to start a Navy myself. Of course...mine will have to be green. It's a tradition you know. Dr. S.
  4. Curses - you are right. I missed a trick there. Considering that the Triumph LAVs mount plasma cannon...I'm a fool! Go for it my friend. Dr. S.
  5. Pagong all the way! Although the Oprah reference for tribe no 2 was quite funny... Dr. S.
  6. The Mighty Lizbet Railway Cannon is capable of firing multiple types of ordnance. Details follow. HIGH-EXPLOSIVE These shells contain simple contact-fused high-explosive warheads designed for maximum devastation over a wide area. They are the most basic and most numerous type of shell used by the Mighty Lizbet. ARMOUR-PIERCING These shells contain simple armour-piercing warheads designed for bunker-busting. Note the more streamlined shape. Once penetration has been achieved, the shell will explode within the enemy emplacement to cause maximum destruction inside. ANTI-PERSONNEL These shells contain multiple anti-personnel bomblets and are designed for use against large enemy troop formations. The warhead can be fused to explode at altitude where the bomblets will then spread over a wide area, either exploding amongst enemy troops or laying dormant until disturbed to cause maximum inconvenience. ANTI-VEHICLE Similar to the Anti-Personnel shell, the less numerous and larger bomblets inside these warheads are designed to destroy or delay enemy convoys as they spread over a wide area from height. This type of shell is useful for denying enemy forces the use of airfields or other staging areas. SEISMIC MINE This type of warhead is designed to penetrate deep into the ground where it will explode and cause seismic tremors beneath enemy positions. It can also be programmed to remain dormant and detonate at a pre-determined time. Leaving it alone can present a hazard to enemy troops and the liberal use of seismic mines can cause major problems for enemy units. NAPALM Napalm shells explode at altitude and spread burning petroleum jelly over an area several square miles across. This is a hazard for both enemy troops and vehicles. FOGGER This type of shell is non-destructive but spreads a thick cloying smoke over a wide area from altitude. This smoke is very hard to disperse, generated from small bomblets which will spread far and wide and continue to pump smoke for up to an hour. The effect can be used to cover an advance from nearby troops or to deny the enemy the use of an airfield or other staging area. POISON GAS Gas shells have so far never been used in combat but a small stockpile of them does exist in case the enemy should decide to resort to such tactics. The gas is chlorine based and can cause respiratory failure and death or severe burns. These shells can be set to either explode at altitude or on contact with the ground. NERVE GAS Nerve gas shells have so far never been used in combat but a small stockpile of them does exist in case the enemy should decide to resort to such tactics. The gas kills unprotected troops instantly. These shells can be set to either explode at altitude or on contact with the ground. NUCLEAR Nuclear warheads have so far never been used in action, but the Mighty Lizbet routinely carries a few wherever she goes. These are tactical nukes, small battlefield weapons with a low yield and minimal fallout, designed to wipe out enemy troop formations or bases. They are typically contact warheads, but can also be used at altitude. Dr. S.
  7. A bit of tinkering, and I now have full 180 degree movement on each gun. Have also made a few other minor aesthetic changes so it's wholly in keeping with the rest of the train. It has proper train doors now, as do the troop carriages: Dr. S.
  8. Yes I realise that...now. Sadly the idea only came to me yesterday. Ho-hum. Dr. S.
  9. My tribute to the Japanese game show "Endurance" which would see students often buried up to their necks in sand, covered in gooey stuff, tortured etc... This poor guy has been shaved, handcuffed and locked inside a sealed box while insects, rats, frogs and snakes are poured inside with him... Full set of images. Dr. S.
  10. I agree that they probably had limited information, a couple of clips perhaps - but as for not being able to keep their traps shut - I don't think that's the case for a moment. In Hollywood you either keep schtum or you get sued. It's as simple as that. Simon Pegg, who plays Scotty in the new Star Trek movie, refuses to talk about the film as he will be sued to smithereens if he does. TLC is a professional organisation that knows its obligations, if they had information they'd have to keep a lid on it. Dr. S.
  11. Love the brain pic' - that sells the whole sequence for me. Nice work. Dr. S.
  12. That's a great picture, thanks! Dr. S.
  13. 20mm cannons on an armoured mount? No, no worries on that account. There would be a lot of recoil, but not enough to knock over a heavy train carriage. Unlike the Mighty Lizbet herself however who can only fire down the length of the track! Dr. S.
  14. Argh..somebody help me please, I can't stop adding new bits to my railway cannon... This is the support Gun Carriage for the "Mighty Lizbet" Rail Cannon. Featuring two turreted twin-20mm multi-purpose cannon that are capable of engaging ground and air targets, the carriage also contains the control centre for the support weapons as well as the main interface for the Railway Cannon itself. The carriages "lock" in place during transit (just by using the interference between a plate and a tile)... ...but they can be "unlocked" to swivel. Alas, I can only get a limited traverse at the moment without buggering up the whole thing...maybe something to work on. Cool though eh? Full set of images here. Dr. S.
  15. This is a linky to a video put together by the President of the Brickish Association to advertise this year's Great Western LEGO Show at the STEAM Museum. Barring accident, I will be there with the BA and the whole Tabletown Army - and my new Railway Cannon, so maybe I'll see some of you chaps there? http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=_OcdGA1ZtQM Dr. S.
  16. If you need assistance in crushing this revolution, the Tabletown PD and Armed Forces are ready to assist. Of course...we might not leave afterwards. Dr. S.
  17. Mid 70s I think, right up until the first "modern" minifig. I've got a few of those pieces from an old set I had when I was a kid. Dr. S.
  18. Well...I've got some Daleks here... http://www.tabletownonline.com/daleks.html Dr. S.
  19. I love the way the bad guy has a special attachment on the jewel case JUST to allow the Agent to grab it with his hook. It's like the two of them sat down beforehand and drew up the plans for the vehicle together... CYBORG: "OK, and then I'll make my getaway in the special snowmobile and you can follow me..." AGENT: "...And I'll scoop up the jewel and return it to foil your plan". CYBORG: "Perfect. See you Tuesday?" Dr. S.
  20. Well, if it offends you, we can switch discussion of this to the Tabletown Forums. But you don't have to read it. Dr. S.
  21. So you are requesting a technological and potentially military alliance with Sinister Incorporated (S.INC) and Tabletown? Sure, I'm game for that, as long as we both accept the risk that one of us is bound to stab the other in the back once absolute power has been achieved. It's the way of things... We are currently working on a viral weapon that will affect the inferior plastic of our enemies in BestLockLand and reduce them to slime. Dr. S.
  22. Yeah, I did that here: Dr. S.
  23. Make a fixed defence turret - stands to reason that an army might use the same missiles in all sorts of different vehicles or emplacements. Dr. S.
  24. Defence is easy - it's a hover-bike - yes? That means it's FAST. Anyone wanting to shoot it up first has to track it, and this thing can move in any direction instantly. Failing that, you don't need armour plate - give it an ECM/ECCM jammer to deflect incoming missiles and a low power force-field to deflect small arms fire and you're fixed of anything short of a heat-seeker (I figure you can't make it totally invincible...). Dr. S.
  25. Thanks. I may add another carriage that mounts a couple of AA guns at some point - my only concern is that if I add too much then I'll need a massive track layout to run it (say, at a display, my next one is in October, at a train museum, funnily enough...) or the engine may not be able to pull it! The tests I've done so far don't suggest a problem in that regard, but you never know... I'm really pleased with how it came out, it's like a super-MOC, modular and LONG. And different. I don't know if anyone has ever made a LEGO Rail Cannon before... Dr. S. I just wish my wife were a bit more enthusiastic about me naming it after her. LOL Dr. S.
