Probably have to wait until Lego actually reveals the CMF to be safe to post the code, by which time the boxes will have sold out. Glad your creativity worked. -

At last we can forget that thing. Thank you for the great spot Cool to see a designer commenting and just shows that they do follow this community. Here's the actual post if others are interested: -

MandR has been in the LAN for quite a few months now and he does still do 'leak' videos, by which I mean he gathers info from places, including this forum, and makes a video. He did mention recently in a video he was getting pressure from people not to make those videos which he thinks is crazy considering he is only compiling information from elsewhere and making a video on it and I agree with him. He's not technically 'leaking' anything himself and it's often funny to watch his 'leak' video and see him reporting the info we've already been discussing and sometimes even screenshotting this forum. ? -

Her answer was really cute and totally valid. ? If she did mean the brick entrance that's also an understandable response. I'm hoping for some sort of moving brick feature. -

Interesting. Are either a fan of HP or Lego or both? It also shows how much WWW has become a part of DA for a lot of people, despite some people on here having voiced the opinion that they wouldn't mind it being left out of DA for now in favour of other shops. I suppose it just shows that Lego can't really win. Just like mine then. Seems the opinion is more prevalent than I would have expected. Good choice. F&B is the main part of DA for COS so that's makes sense. Gringotts really isn't coming up as much as I think we might all expect which is really fascinating. Is your sister a fan of the books or has she just watched the movies or neither? Her response seems like it relates to what predominates each movie. Your brother sounds like he knows where his priorities lie lol. Money, food and having a good laugh lol. But he mentioned Gringotts! Your mother's answer is adorable. ? Mine did also say when I then told her there was a Lego set coming 'Oh and it will have the cobbled street right?' Err, not so sure it will stretch to all of that mum! But it shows the old style architecture is heavily associated with the street. -

There really isn't going to be a big enough display cabinet for all of this is there? ? -

No. The description says: 'Authentic accessories and familiar minifigures from the Harry Potter™ movies make it possible to create a ‘living model’ with endless possibilities to rearrange and create new narratives.' That means that unlike 71043 where it's microscale but minifigures are included for display outside of the set, the minifigures included with DA are meant to be displayed within the set. And whilst you can place minifigures inside a microscale building, they wouldn't create a 'living model' if they were that out of scale. ? -

As someone who grew up with the books first and then the movies, Gringotts is synonymous with Diagon Alley for me. It's there before Weasley's Wizard Wheezes becomes a huge part of the street and it's where Hagrid takes Harry on entering DA to not only withdraw his money but also the Philosopher's Stone. However, I asked my mum this question this morning after I saw the DA description, but not telling her why I was asking: 'When I say Diagon Alley, what building/s do you think of first?' Her response was: 'Ollivanders, then the sweet shop (she meant Weasley's Wizard Wheezes), and the owl shop (Eyelops).' 'Anything else?' I prompted her. 'No.' 'Not Gringotts?' Her response: 'No because I don't really think of that as part of Diagon Alley because in the movies it's not really part of the "street".' So that was an interesting response from someone who is the parent of someone who was obsessed with the books and listened to the audiobooks on repeat as a child, but who themselves (apart from overhearing said audiobooks) has experienced Harry Potter more through the movies and then the studio tour. And looking at the clip of DA in Philosopher's Stone, it is a case of Hagrid and Harry walking down a very narrow and packed street and then Gringotts being a completely separate building at the end, and the studio tour also kind of separates Gringotts from the street because it's such a big thing on it's own now with the entrance hall, then the vaults and the dragon all happening before you then walk out into the 'alley'. Does that mean that all more casual HP consumers will have the same impression and want to spend a lot of money on a DA without Gringotts? No. But it does show that Gringotts is not a necessary part of DA for all. -

Thank goodness! It can't even fit in my glass display cabinet and there's no way I'm putting that thing on a shelf to get dusty. So as much as I would love to display it as one long street, hopefully you will be able to split it kind of like how @Lego-Freak says and then I will display it over two cabinets with the shelves at the same height. Still my cabinets don't touch so it won't look seamless. I feel your pain, but I think the only things about Gringotts not being there is that 1) we're bound to get it sometime, and 2) the fact that Lego would produce a set of this magnitude and cost that does not have one of the most iconic buildings of the street in just shows how far this line has come. Ignoring price issues for the moment, this approach allows us to get more of DA than we've ever gotten and it shows the amount of fan service they can put into the line. When you think that ten years ago, DA consisted of Gringotts, a part of another alley and Ollivanders, only one of which will now be in a 5000+ piece set and the rest will be all new buildings, we're now getting more HP than ever. I know cost is an issue for a lot of us, but I can't help but feel positive about that. Whilst I'm not hopeful for a standalone Leaky Cauldron, that is a very good and positive reflection. The flip side of course is that Lego wants to squeeze as much money out of us all as possible, but as I said above, I can't help but feel more positive about it anyway. I mean if you were a Lego designer and a HP fan and you could split up DA into more sets so as to get more HP Lego, more faithful representations and more minifigures wouldn't you want to take that approach? And I think this explains how we can get such obscure figures such as Florean if goblins don't even have to be in the lineup. Here's hoping for Rita Skeeter! Speaking of figures, I'm glad the description didn't mention the figure lineup. I kind of want to see them all together in their full glory for the first time with the set pictures. And this leak gives us some more information, but still leaves us with some unknown. Me too.? Doesn't it always lol. -

It could be something. I was looking at the calendar earlier and, considering I just get the feeling that we are not going to see anything this week, I was thinking okay maybe it will be revealed on the 18th because that will be exactly two weeks before 1st September. Now sometimes these reveals don't happen beforehand in exact weeks anyway so I admit my reasoning is sketchy, but hey I'm desperate! And next Tuesday is the 18th. Also Andres does say the thing he is teasing is 'important to the whole world' which means that the reveal has got to be something fairly large and a new MOC or suchlike is not really fitting for that description. Of course he could have been speaking ironically or it's a sort of misuse of words by a non-native English speaker. That being said, his English is very good. I've also seen him interview Marcos Bessa before and talk about the HP sets (https://zusammengebaut.com/lego-designer-marcos-bessa-im-interview-harry-potter-jurassic-world-und-was-grosses-72524/), but I don't know if he would count him as a 'best buddy'. So basically the outcome of all of that is ... I have not idea if it's relevant to DA. That sounds mighty painful! -

No exactly, which kind of just highlights how much of a ludicrous move it would be really for Gringotts not to be included. Gringotts and Diagon Alley have been synonymous from book 1 of Harry Potter! -

Me too. It's why I value this forum so much. I doubt it does mean anything, because 71043 had already been revealed on the 25th July and was then available for VIPs on the 15th August. The only thing this might tell us is that if this set follows exactly the same time schedule it could be released on 1st September and the designer video would release on 28th August. But nothing about this set is really following a pattern. -

True! Nah I'm not going to limit myself - this is a great little community so I'm going to make the most of it. ? Going to squeeze every last drop of excitement out of these products, especially DA considering the cost. ? What we're going to do for several months after DA, the CMF and the AC have been released and there's no info on next year's sets I don't know. -
