  1. It seems to me that the QR code won't work until 31st August. Really dragging this out aren't they.
  2. Interesting. Why do I get the feeling we are not going to officially see DA until the day before the supposed release date.
  3. What if the QR code just leads you to that image that appeared on Instagram this morning of Diagon Alley in a glass case.
  4. He says a lot of Instagramers have all but confirmed one of the CMF next year is Star Wars, but I haven't seen evidence of that on Instagram. I think this thread would have blown up if that was the case. I heard it speculated that certain contracts have come to an end and that could be a possibility for Lego to create new contracts that allow them to do a CMF, but I don't think any reliable leaker has confirmed this means a CMF is coming. Don't get me wrong, I'd like it to be true and you make a good point about the absence of BPs, but I'm sceptical about a CMF.
  5. Minifigures every time.
  6. I'm going to have to split the 102cm length across two glass cabinets. Unfortunately they are not stood right together so there will be a gap, but the two sections of the street will be on the same level just a little apart. There should also be enough room for Gringotts to be added at one end this way too. It's not the ideal solution, but best I can do.
  7. They are great sets so I would hate for you to miss out on them! Hope you can get them. ?
  8. This is a list that has been floating around for a couple of months https://www.brickfanatics.com/lego-harry-potter-list-of-sets-retiring-in-2020/ But this list is by no means a certainty and sometimes sets stay unexpectedly and others dissappear. I would get the Great Hall as soon as if I was you as I've seen a lot of low stock with that set already.
  9. @RealGeronimo11 Thanks for sharing that animation. ?
  10. Yes, but where are we meant to put all of these displays. ?
  11. I was looking up Lockhart's F&B attire earlier because I watched the movie recently and I was sure he wore blue in that scene. Someone on Instagram also posted a promotional shot where his suit and robes were, sure enough, blue. But a quick internet search showed him mainly in what I consider blue ... and then there's that one image you've posted and I instantly knew where Lego had got their colouring from. But the thing is, that picture just looks like an oversaturated shot to me where the red tones are clearly accentuated and when all other images from both watching the movie and promotional shots show blue, I have to question why Lego chose to go with the lilac. They must have seen the images and movie we have. ? ? As I say above, I don't get it either. Pity the upcoming Q&A won't be a livestream or that would be a question we could ask the graphic designer.
  12. I think what it is with the minifigures is that, Fred and George, the figures are solely based on recreating COS content, and moreover it then feels like just the one scene inside F&B because you can already get Hagrid elsewhere. Even then, Arthur isn't included and he feels more necessary to the scene than Molly to me - it's his altercation with Lucius that I remember from the movies and the books. Overall, I personally feel that the set really needed some more figures from HBP to pose inside WWW with Fred and George. WWW doesn't even exist when the majority of the characters in their included form are in DA so it creates a disjointedness in my eyes to pose them anywhere near WWW. For the Lego description to then say, 'the model captures the scale and ambience of the bustling magic-supplies hub' is a bit of a stretch for me. I'd say Marcos Bessa as he is meant to be doing the elusive Q&A.
  13. I agree that the official reveal pictures will undoubtedly make it look better. That being said, having already seen the set it will take some of the magic away. As for the box I'm not actually bothered about keeping boxes these days although I may for something this size, I just think it undersells the set which is unfortunate.
  14. Almost feel like the black box art would have been better now - it would make the colours pop at least.
  15. I think adding Gringotts to the scene will really make it come alive. It's that old argument again as to whether Gringotts is essential for DA and whilst Lego are clearly separating, I personally think Gringotts is what will really make this diorama better. It will add some more height and majesty. Put the dragon on the top and it will be the icing on the cake so to speak. I just hope that the Gringotts set will fit together well with DA in terms of detail and size.
  16. I was just looking at the box art and I think for me it's the fact that the sky is just a big stretch of clouds. Now this is an English street so fair's fair, but add that gloomy sky to the fact that the street isn't bustling and it gives it that 'dead' feel to me. It reminds me a lot of HBP Diagon Alley, except the stores are more colourful here. The minifigure count is also disappointing I'm not going to lie. This theme is normally generous with the figures and when you think that the last 'DA' got 12 figures for a lot less money and when other licensed sets of this price have had more figures the lineup is underwhelming. And considering that Diagon Alley is know for its crowded street atmosphere it feels like this set over any should have a decent amount of figures. Of course there is the argument that the last DA included figures and buildings such as Fenrir and Gringotts respectively that we have either had or we assume we will get and overall we will be getting more, but then the overall price will also be a lot more.
  17. I think for me it's Ollivanders because I love those yellow windows, followed closely by Flourish and Blotts. I thought I'd love WWW, but something just isn't grabbing me. I think it's just how blocky the nose on the head is.
  18. So what's the betting that those Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff Quidditch torsos will go for silly amounts of the secondary market ... And then turn up in a Quidditch 'student' pack next year?
  19. I'd say the torso is from a GWP. It could come in a Gringotts set, but I think that will come with goblins and the trio in their DH forms. The only thing with that, is that I would have expected Griphook to be included in the Gringotts set and not a CMF. Now I know he could be still considering CMF Dobby turned up in Privet Drive with a different face, but that was a lot later and it wouldn't make sense to include him in Gringotts minus sword. Also, now we've seen the set, how are people planning on displaying it? To fit in my display cabinet I will need to separate it and it's great that this can be done, but I think it looks best in its straight line form. I could make a shorter alley with two sides of the street, but in reality I'm opposed to displaying it like that and putting the buildings out of place. Hhhm ?
  20. We're going to have to sing this more often as it seems to work! I have to say I'm underwhelmed. This line is normally generous with figures, so 14 is lacklustre, I don't think there are going to be figs in the other side, because surely if that was the case Fred and George would be in the other side with some more later movie figs and not on this side. Front has leaked!
  21. Happy Birthday @Lego-Freak ?
  22. They look great. I particularly like Cho's dress and the Yule Ball tile with silhouette of the teeny tiny dancing couple.
  23. It's really not that hard to overlay figures and make a group shot. It's even easier to look a shot and spot something like that. Clearly weren't using all that time before the reveal to properly proof things.
