MOC Jabba's custom TIE Fighter ''Choba Mafa''
Evilkirk replied to Evilkirk's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks! I usually prefer building ships from my own imagination instead of ones that already exist in the SW universe! Hmmm I like the Gamorrean wingmen idea, I could do a whole porky chubbychops squadron lol- 24 replies

'The Blue Bantha II' Light freighter/transport (MOC)
Evilkirk replied to Evilkirk's topic in LEGO Star Wars
*Taken by the Black Sun as compensation for losing a shipment (she got boarded by Imperials) when Mamita was still new to the 'shipping' business... An important lesson learned - and since then, she's tried to be more selective about who she works for! -
Need to move your things or yourself from Aurek to Besh, nice and fast with no questions asked? You better call for The Blue Bantha II! This is a Corellian ‘Fastfreight 808’ Light Freighter / Transport, piloted by the infamous ‘Mamita Cho’ who is a particularly loud, extrovert, bad-tempered yet trustworthy and honorable female Echani. ‘’Laugh loud, love a leettle and liiive looong’’ as she likes to say; Mamita Cho is well-respected and few dare to cross her (the Echani are renowned martial arts experts) + let’s not forget her loyal crew ‘Spaklociondomo-grandia Rankkitognolosamerko XIV’ (Spaks) a High Devaronian royal outcast …and ‘Dave’ the Falleen. The craft opens mid-ship to reveal a long loading/unloading area (complete with repulsorlift mini-skiff) and there is a comfy passenger lounge with 4 beds for VIP passengers. The hyperdrive and a weapons rack are fitted to the ceiling of the bridge/cockpit area with side doors for easy access. The ship is armed with 2 x twin front lasers and a rear turret on the roof that can switch between laser & ion mode, usually with Dave on the controls. The cargo area roof has a large magna-clamp and a heavy rack for attaching most kinds of large freight container and the ship can easily carry most models of bus/atmospheric transports for inter-planetary travel, as long as they're space-worthy and can dock, they can fly!. If you read all the way down here, thanks for your time and don’t forget to look up Mamita Cho for all your smuggl… uummm, I mean long distance transport and logistics requirements! ;) https://www.flickr.com/photos/evilkirk/albums/72157686098258595/with/34998161044/

MOC Jabba's custom TIE Fighter ''Choba Mafa''
Evilkirk replied to Evilkirk's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This build was actually done for a Facebook group contest where they asked for MOCS of custom TIE fighters piloted by Mercenaries and other seedy characters - and they were all supposed to be working for the Hutts, so I thought why not make a TIE for Jabba to join in the shenanigans. Btw I won the contest and got a $50 gift certificate for one company's Bricklink store :)- 24 replies

MOC Jabba's custom TIE Fighter ''Choba Mafa''
Evilkirk replied to Evilkirk's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks everyone! In answer to the toilet question... I'm afraid the astrochef droid cleans it up off the floor and after a little processing it's used as a seasoning on Jabba's next meal. Yes that's disgusting, but Hutts are generally pretty gross, vile creatures :)- 24 replies

MOC Jabba's custom TIE Fighter ''Choba Mafa''
Evilkirk replied to Evilkirk's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thank you! I did think of doing it in browns+tans, but: a) I wanted it to be different from the usual sail barge / desert skiff style that we know. And most importantly: b) I haven't got many nice brown/tan pieces and am currently too broke to buy some lol- 24 replies

His High Exaltedness the Great Jabba the Hutt's custom built heavy-fighter, named by Jabba himself as ''Choba Mafa'' (Huttese for 'My Final Offer') - Translation source: http://www.completewermosguide.com/huttnoncanondictionary.html . One of the head Sienar designers was 'forcefully employed' to oversee the creation of this ship (he mysteriously vanished after it was completed) and it was officially dubbed the QQRIE Fighter (Quin+Quad Retrothrust Ion Engines), more simply pronounced as a 'Cry Fighter'. There is a turret on the underside (turns 360 degrees with vertical movement for all cannons) which is reluctantly manned by Bib Fortuna himself (cheekily nicknamed 'the Belly turret' by one of Jabba's mechanics who has since also vanished) + no self respecting Hutt travels anywhere without at least one AstroChef droid to keep the snacks flowing wherever they go. The ship is armed with 2 x powerful twin laser canons mounted just inside of the solar fin joints with twin ion canons and proton torpedo tubes fitted on either side of the cockpit. The turret features a front quad laser canon with an ion cannon on one side and a large rear mounted 'beam canon' around the other side. There are 4 shield emitters mounted on the cockpit roof and the interior is gravity + climate controlled perfectly for a Hutt's comfort. Inside the cockpit area there are various vessels for holding snacks and munchies with a small integrated kitchenette at the rear for the Astrochef (MN-Chi-1) to do his work. The overhead control arms are specially designed to compensate for a Hutt's lack of reach + there are additional levers built into the side recess which are controlled by his tail. I hope you guys like it!

My prize-winning contest entry for a micro-build contest where you could build anything Star Wars as long as it was done within an 8 x 16 stud width limit :) *feeble attempt at instructions for the speeders included at the end in case anyone's interested...
-
Thanks! Currently it's all in peices as I'm attempting to rebuild it 16 to 20 studs wider... not sure if I've got enough parts but we shall see :)

Lord Vader is an equal opportunities employer and will basically hire anyone dressed in white with a helmet :P
-
Darth Vader's very own corvette, custom designed and used during the Great Jedi Purge whilst hunting down the last Jedi stragglers around the galaxy. For such missions, a more subtle entrance is sometimes required into some planetary systems, rather than arriving with a fleet of star destroyers. The ship features an integrated shuttle attached to the top of the main hold (accessed by a functional lift) and the main craft carries a small selection of compact repulsorlift vehicles custom built for lord Vader's private ship. The rear of the corvette is accessed by a central corridor and is comprised of 3 floors, with the engineering room at the bottom, secondary/storage hold above and then the command deck on top. On land, the main hold can fully open to function as a mobile mission outpost if required. It is said that Lord Vader claims that the unusual name for the ship is because of it's Nubian drive engines and the aggressive angular design of the ship is nightmarish compared to the sleek flowing designs that Nubian ship builders are famed for - although there are whispered rumours that it is secretly named in memory of a lady who favoured Nubian ships and that Lord Vader may have had some kind of nightmares about this mysterious lady... Here you go buddy - I'm afraid it's nothing special inside there, the main thing I wanted in the cockpit was to have a usable 'access hatch' from the corridor. I can squeeeeze 4 guys in there but they just look too cramped. *Please ignore the thermal detonator attached to the co-pilots controls, I was running low on control panels lol* I happened to see those droid fighters reduced on sale for £2 each in 1999 (RIP Woolworths) and in a mad moment of Lego-lust I cleared the whole shelf in the shop.

Thanks, I tried to get as close to the official floor-plan as possible but I just didn't have the internal space (or parts!) to get it 100% correct :)

My main goal was to completely rebuild and enlarge my 7965 Millennium Falcon, with the main focus on 'playability', so that all parts of the ship could be accessed by minifigures (and fat fingers!) from everywhere else + trying to keep as close to the real deal as possible - BUT only using parts from my few non-star wars sets and the ancient 7190 Falcon model. It started with taking the technic floor base from the 7965 set and making it 8 studs longer and wider and then I built it up in my own way from there. As my parts were limited, you'll see a lot of elements from 7965 (such as the external docking ports on the sides) but I feel I've added enough of my own style and ideas to call this my own creation. I tried to use official photos as source material, although I had to use a bit of 'artistic licence' here and there and a lot of the interior decor is wrong due to a serious LOL (Lack of Lego). I could have bought a million tiles for the floor and walls to make it look neater, but that would have taken me off my goal that I set at the start of the build - and I like studded floors so that the people can stand where they like as they fly through hyperspace ;)

Is there anything from the OT that has not been built?
Evilkirk replied to PaddyBricksplitter's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Slightly off topic, but I wish they'd re-do the twin pod cloud car... I've seen some very nice mocs using the newer parts and colours.... -
Nice work dude! :)

Review: LEGO Star Wars A-Wing Starfighter (set 75175)
Evilkirk replied to QwikBricks's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I hope the new A-wing is the last A-wing re-build they do for a while, it's a lovely ship but they've done sooo many versions now. -
That is absolutely gorgeous, well done :D
