So, I just watched episode 1 of season 4 and a 2 minute clip from another episode.

I slowed the video right down for something like my 10th rewatch 😅 and finally saw Niko. People have been theorizing that River is Autumn's dad. It could be possible, Autumn could have a dad with a warmer skin tone but take more after her mother's skin tone. I suppose it depends whether River and Mia got back together after River ditched her to join the circus and Mia went to Africa. The last guy we saw Mia interacting with in the toyline before the reboot was Joaquim, but there's nothing to suggest he and Mia were anything more than aquaintences. I kinda think it'd be an empowering story if Mia never married and just adopted a child (or had a child through artificial insemination) that she raised successfully as a single mother. Or that she had an unplanned teen pregnancy but stepped up to the challenge and thrived as a good provider to a child. Usually when Lego does a house for a main friends character, we get 2 parents. So I think it's safe to assume there's no partner in Mia's life; so we may never find out who Autumn's sperm donor was. Speaking of single parent families, I wonder how much the new show will reference Paisley's mother being dead? It'd be relatable for bereaved children, but might be too heavy a topic for a kid's show to really delve into too much? I'm super interested to see how the new show handles Mia. I hope they don't retcon her character and just have her play the role of a generic mother. At least she didn't lose her love of animals when she lost her freckles.

The large looming figure with the 3 minions in the new opening credits looks to be dressed like a Chinese Emperor and at least one of the 3 minions seems to be Nezha. So maybe it's the Jade Emporer, Erlang, Nezha and maybe Taishang Laojun? Maybe Sun Wukong is taking on Heaven's forces again? The lion, elephant and eagle seem to be allied with Sun Wukong and DBK. Maybe they're from the group that the Monkey King made peace with in one of the early chapters of JTTW? DBK was among them in the novel. Surprised fan favourite character Red Son isn't with the good guy group in the opening credits

Early in Journey To The West, The Monkey King forms an alliance or non-aggression treaty with various animal demons. I forget who they all are off the top of my head, but DBK is among them. The big bad looks to be dressed like a Chinese Emperor and at least one of the 3 minions seems to be Nezha. So maybe it's the Jade Emporer, Erlang, Nezha and maybe Taishang Laojun?

Personally, I'd prefer more villain builds/vehicles than heroic ones. I like the odds to be against the heroes to make their inevitable triumph feel like more of a struggle and a greater achievement

Wasn't expecting the animated versions of the Eagle, Lion and Elephant to be so cute. Good to see DBK and Macaque back. Looks like there's a lot more variation in the Ink Demons in the show than there is in the sets. Good to see the combo mech featuring prominently. And Pigsy has his hat, yet Lego thought the minifigure looked better with no hat and an exposed stud 🙄 This had better be good. Which I'm sure it will be, I mean this is Flying Bark

The Bull Clones in Monkie Kid had at least 3 vehicles sharing the same aesthetic, more if you count their little side builds. I suppose Macaque and the the Shadow Monkeys did too. I wonder if the new 4-armed torso for Disney's Stitch that just leaked will end up being reused in Ninjago. That theme loves extra limbs. Imagine Zane upgrading himself to wield 4 weapons.

I hope we get some of those background characters in sets down the line, there's some awesome torso designs! I hadn't realised Adi attended school, but she showed up twice in the video. I'd assumed she was an adult when set 41732 showed her moving furniture into her new apartment, but I guess she lives there with her parents maybe? There's some cool building designs in HLC now. I read somewhere that Lego had mapped out different areas/neighbourhoods so fans can get a better feel for how HLC is laid out, so hopefully some of that interesting architecture will feature in future waves of the sets. I was hoping this time round that they'd use named characters from the sets that aren't the main core group in the story instead of characters we don't have physical toys of yet; but the kid brown nosing the Principal, the Pickle kid, the pig etc aren't in sets yet I don't think. I was hoping to see Niko, Jordin, Charli, Luna etc. Though this is just the first teaser so they still may appear. I'm pretty sure I saw Matilde skating around 0.51 though it's weird she's wearing her Bubble Tea uniform to school, just with a jacket over it. maybe she's heading to work? I think the building at 2.49 must be Aliya's apartment building, it matches the architecture of her bedroom. I like that the school looks pretty similar to the actual set. I hope we get some of the hairpieces shown. P.I.X.A.L's current hair in brown looks good and I think the kid laughing at Paisley has a new hairpiece design that we haven't got in physical form yet? I like that some of the core group of Friends seem to be having trouble getting along, them not being besties from the get go is a bit more realistic and will be good for character development as they learn to appreciate each other's differences. I like the relatability of certain characters not being open about all of their interests straightaway. Did I catch Leo having an accent? Hopefully the show will lean into the International nature of the school and feature realistic accents and cultures. man, I'm hyper fixated on this new chapter in this awesome Lego theme! 😅 * On a totally unrelated note, is set 41751 the first time we've seen a bra strap that's not part of a swimsuit?

I want them all! The bottom right one looks like Count Dragomont from Imaginext's attempt to rival Lego Castle with their modular castle theme from about 16 years ago

They tend to go the extra mile with Nya sets, like how they threw Lloyd into her 2023 dragon's set. Presumably because the Ninjago fanbase tend to think girls are icky, but Lego still wants Nya sets to sell.

Just found out from a comment on a YT video that Stephanie and Mia are cousins! Apparently there was an official sticker book that said so? I don't know if it's been detailed in any other media? I prefer the yellow minifigs purely because there's so many different facial expressions in yellow that aren't well represented in flesh tone minifigures. Most flesh toned minifigs are lucky if they even have 2 expressions, whereas Hidden Side and Ninjago gave us at least 4 for most recurring characters. It's so useful for my minifigure horror/action/adventure photo comic I've been sporadically updating for the last year or so. Great build! I got to be the first to like it I'm also assuming that Peter and Victoria are Liann's siblings. I wonder if there's any connection to Dr Marlon? Though I think his skin tone is a little darker?
