Hi. I was wondering if someone could make the cover art for one of favourite albums, "I Am King" by Code Orange, but in LEGO version. My idea is to replace the human face with that of a classic LEGO figure's. The tricky part would be keeping the words "I Am King" still recognisable when displayed over a LEGO figure's forehead. I plan on printing this on a 2x2 tile, and on a minifig torso. I am not skilled enough at art to do this myself. It does look rather tricky, so I thank you greatly if you can manage to do this! Original cover art in spoiler due to large size (1200 x 1200)

Weird. They're just text on my end.

I love how you've torn up the road like that! And the buildings look really realistic in the way they were destroyed. One thing though... If that's a Panzer IV, the turret should be shorter and a little wider, and the front mudguard shouldn't slope downward.

Your images are broken.

You should be able to pop the windows out of their frames and slide them into the arches. It'll be pretty loose but it shouldn't look too bad. You could use some Sticky Tack to hold the windows in place if it bothers you (it can be removed, and isn't damaging to your pieces).

Thanks! I also really like the way the cheese-slope mosaic-thing turned out! It wasn't supposed to really be anything in particular, I just wanted to use the olive green cheese slopes for something as I have way more of them than I'll ever need. Windows are certainly needed! Though, adding windows would mean I'd have to do at least side walls and a bit of an interior, which may be difficult due to parts limitations. I think what I'll try to do is build things like this (see image at bottom), which don't require too many windows (or an interior), but have a lot of detail. As for inspiration, I walk around east Vancouver from time to time, and although the buildings are quite run down, I like the way they look, and I'll try to incorporate them into my LEGO buildings. The yellow is quite ugly indeed, and I didn't actually want to use it, but it was either yellow, blue, or yellowed white bricks (which aren't even yellowed consistently!). I have bricks in other colours, but in a very limited supply. For example, I have ten 1x1 dark green bricks, and I have no other dark green bricks. I definitely want to get more masonry bricks, the only ones I have are from the town house set. I've been playing around with SNOT and I can't seem to make it work quite right, but I think that's something that comes with experience more than anything. You can see my attempts at it with the awning on the white building, and I'm not sure if you can make out what I did around the top window on the yellow building. I am fairly bad with colours, which is why all of my clothing is either black, white, or blue. And although I really don't have much of an eye for colour, I can see what you mean by not having an accent colour on the yellow building. I was actually thinking of adding in a third colour while building it, but I wasn't sure what colour to use or where I'd put it. Almost as bad as my sense of colour is my depth perception. Front to back topography is something I'll be working on as I build my next building; I plan on building a restaurant with a deck and some lattice windows that pop out more. That artsy trick thing is something I'll need to look into more. It sounds quite important. And I'll definitely look into getting that book! The "rendering simply with common pieces" seems right up my ally! ----- Thank you all so much for replying! I can't express how happy it makes me to see such a helpful community. I'm sorry I didn't respond sooner, I didn't receive any notifications about replies even though I've "followed" the topic. In my next MOC, I'll try to take into account the things I've been told. The main things I have to work on are windows, depth, getting rid of flat walls, and adding some colour. ----- Inspiration: http://nordicaphotography.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/east-vancouver-engagement-photography-00.jpg

(WARNING: Terrible pictures My camera doesn't have a very high resolution, and I'm not that good at using cameras.) So I got set 31065 yesterday, built it, and put it next to some of my own creations... Well, it sure does look like I need to up my game a bit! Here's a better look at my own buildings. They're just fronts, I don't have the parts to make full buildings, nor the skill. I like to think of them as movie sets! These buildings are small, so there isn't much to comment on, but I still need feedback! I want to add more detail to make them look more "complete", especially the yellow building. I also want to add more buildings, and hopefully complete an entire street at some point. I'm sort of new to getting back into Lego, so I don't really have an eye for how to use parts effectively, which is why I'm asking for help. Specifically, I need help with the following: What should I add? What should I remove? What did I do well on? What did I do poorly on, and how can I fix it? But all feedback is appreciated. Thanks! If you need better pictures, or more pictures, just ask.

I love how you've done a lot of intricate little things without making it look too busy. Things like the air vents, cell towers, and water tanks on the roofs; the texturing on the sides of buildings (especially the blue one); the way you've slanted the awning on the grey and custard yellow building; what I assume are smoke dischargers on the top of the crawler; the dark surfaces that make everything look like it has just rained; the back ally with those shop things (not sure what to call them). It really portrays the depressive cyberpunk theme well!

Lovely! I love the attention to small detail, like how you did the door and the launch ramp thing. What is this piece? I've never seen it before.

WOW! My eyes kept getting wider and wider as the images loaded as I scrolled down! This is beautiful! One thing though... Could you put half of your pictures in spoilers? To do this, just click on the Eye icon (between the <> and the smily face). It would really help with the loading time.

Hello. As the title should suggest, I'm looking for the best set to get medieval looking Lego pieces. Currently, I only have a handful of parts, not even enough to make a small house out of. I don't have anything with brick patterns, I only have one arched window, and I hardly have any brown or dark coloured pieces. I've been seeing all these lovely creations on the forums lately, and it makes me really want to build, but I always have to come back down to reality and realise that I simply do not have the parts to do so. I mostly want to build houses and small shops, maybe a pub as well. I'm not looking to make a castle or a fort. I currently have $60 in Walmart gift cards, and another $60 that I'm willing to spend as it was money I was given for Christmas. I could go to Walmart and spend $120 on a large set, but I know Walmart does not have a very good selection. There is a Lego store not too far from where I live, so I could go there as well, but I would only have $60 to spend. (This is all in Canadian money, things are a little more expensive here than they would be in the US (and there is a 12% sales tax)) Thank you for reading! (P.S. If I posted this in the wrong area, I'm sorry. I wasn't sure if I should post it in General discussion or Historic themes.)

I've been having the same problem lately, not with Lego but with T-shirts. I placed two different orders on two different sites, each of two T-shirts, and one T-shirt in each package was wrong. Pretty frustrating. But I've only had this problem with Lego once, and it was a long time ago (I was around 10 years old or so). I got a Creator set and it came with a few wrong bags, but I never returned it because the pieces I got extra of were better than the pieces I didn't get, and I'm not one to keep sets together anyway. I hope this works out for you.

Olivia signs up for quest #155

"Ale would be nice." Olivia smiles and follows the gesture, taking a seat across from the woman. "About myself, since you're interested... I come from a small town about five days from here, I sort of ran away. They don't like me there, and I don't like the way they want me to live. They expect me to cook food and bear children, I want to explore. I've often said, 'there's not a place I'd rather be than everywhere at once,' and there wasn't room for that." She's looking at the floor now, gazing off into nothing. "So the past week I've been a passenger, riding along with other people, or walking by myself where necessary. I've realised that being everywhere at once isn't practical, and I don't really know what I'm doing..." Olivia trails off. "Sorry, I'm rambling. What's the "Regret"?"

Where is the dress from?
-
"Sure thing" Olivia smiles and makes her way up the stairs, trying not to go too fast as she doesn't want to faint again.

I have a lot of parts from these sets (I most likely got them at second hand stores), and I never knew where most of them came from. This explains the clear chainsaws and skis!

It's been more than 48 hours since I last slept. I can no longer feel my face, and my pupils stay dilated no matter how bright of a room I'm in. I really need to stop doing this to myself...

"Heroica Hall sure is a beautiful place... And I don't have a profession, so to speak, but I guess you could say I'm a student of magic... I know the basics of magic, not much more, though I do wish to learn. And I definitely don't mind getting my hands dirty if it'll mean I don't have to go back home." Olivia pauses and looks around again, still in awe of her surroundings. "What kind of quests, might I ask?"

Thank you! And the problem with making a corner is that I don't have enough pieces to build the floors and walls, unless the walls are dark blue or yellow and the floor is light grey or green. I used to be able to make white houses but most of my white bricks are now horribly discoloured and look tan-ish or creamy. So until I can get some nice wood flooring and decent walls, I'll have to just make individual pieces of furniture. I think the furniture is going well, at least! I'll try to get some pictures up later.

That hall must be well loved. I wish I could afford a copy to keep in my own room! I'd spend entire weekends rearranging the furniture and setting up scenes. Wow, I totally forgot how fun and addicting LEGO was.

I used to do similar roleplaying games online, but nothing near as organised as this. In fact, one of the reasons I stopped is because pretty much every RPG I tried to do would fall apart due to being massively disorganised (though, I'll admit, I was to partially blame for a good few of those falling aparts). I'm really looking forward to taking part in this since it's going on such a large scale. As for the make myself comfortable... What would the furniture look like in Heroica's Hall? I want to make a couch for my character while I'm waiting, but I want it to match the theme.

Hello, Rider Raider! And thank you, I'm sure I will! I can't remember the last time I've been welcomed this much into an online community. The last few I've joined have been so clique-y and lame, this place is a nice change! It makes me so happy to see! Thank you all so much!
