Off to work I go on this UCS scale version then!

Thank you, I will see what I can do! I am also thinking of either making the model bigger so I can accomadate room for two minifigs in the cockpit. Or making it a lot bigger and converting it to UCS.

Thank you for your reply. I agree with everything you have said. I am going to try and incorporate some side doors at some point.

Ahah this is cute! Nice micro fighter designs. I might build a full sized version .

After seeing the U-Wing I decided to design one as it is such an elegant unique ship. In my opinion, the best feature is the wing swoop element. My design has fewer bricks a total of 504, unlike lego's brick count of 659. My main goal was to get the design to look aerodynamic, unlike TLG's chunky design. Because of this, I have had to sacrifice play features. However, the canopy does still function, the wings swoop at an angle and there is a ramp at the front of the ship for accessing the cargo bay/ troop bay. I might add functioning side doors in the future, and improve the structural quality of the ship. Also, I may create a UCS version. I hope you all like my design! Does anyone have any MOC requests? I have a lot of free time at the moment. Rendered using Blueprint.

[UCS] [WIP] [MOC] Venator Class Star Destroyer
Ellisss_2 replied to Ellisss_2's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thank you for yor reply. I will most likely end up changing the horizontal shape of the greebling to match the plating, otherwise it will not be as accurate as I was hoping for. Hopefully I will be able to fix this :) -

I have realized there is a problem with the triangular plating, it begins to overhang further the further along the fuselage you go. Will this be a noticeable problem when built? Also how can I fix this, any suggestions? I have a feeling this is not going to be easy to fix -

I know it is not much, but I have begun work on the triangular plating. I am doing the top plating first, as I haven't decided how to mount the bottom plating just yet! -
8039 Venator... worst set ever.. needs help.
Ellisss_2 replied to broomhandle's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I would agree this is an awful design from Lego. But let us not forget this set was designed for children, as they have squeezed in play functions that do not fit to the sleek design of the venator. Maybe try removing the canon and bomb dropping function, so you can make the model thinner. If you are looking for a scale Venator design look at Anio or Primus's design, they are some of the best, and most accurate. Here is a thread you may be interested on: -

Hello, all! Here is my UCS Venator Class Star Destroyer, I began this project back in 2016 and it is near completion. Instructions will soon be available, look further into the thread to find examples. Here is the old thread if anyone is interested: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/123296-ucs-wip-moc-venator-class-star-destroyer/ Update: Here is the current model as of today (15/02/18)!
