I'd agree with Goonmo. I'd be very shocked if they brought back the Ewok Village in the next several years. I would love to see them do a new bunker... or better yet, a compound with the landing platform, shield/dish that explodes, and skywalks+elevator system below it with the radar dish. But even that would be a stretch.

Excited to see all the new sets pouring in. Has anyone seen NYTF online visuals of Saw Guerra or was he inside the "dark room" where photography was not allowed? I'm concerned that he will be a May the 4th promo and we'll have the same online issues as last year, making ordering impossible until after they are sold out. Also, has anyone seen NYTF online visuals of the UCS snowspeeder (not talking about the picture that was leaked a few days ago)? I was hoping to see more close-ups of it.

So I studied the picture for the last 5-10 minutes and it appears that the top of these "vent pieces" have the same look as the cockpit canopy... so the thought popped into my mind that perhaps the vents are clear/transparent or even the tinted/gray transparent pieces with thin white lines printed over the top...? I'm really curious to see how they did it.

I was actually thinking about this just the other day... I've been hoping for awhile that TLG would go back to doing their "2 part" sets, similar to Jabbas Palace + Rancor Pit or The Ghost + The Phantom. I thought that it would be sweet if they combined the 75171 Battle on Scariff set with a "Part 2" Citadel... It could have the top platform as he has in this rendition, but could also have the archive vault with the DS plans in the main shaft... I'm not sure why TLG doesn't do more 2 or even 3 part combinations of sets, since they would get a lot of AFOLs to buy them all, and yet the parents can still afford to buy a single smaller set for the kids. Imagine if they had done the Endor shield array and the Endor landing platform as add-on sets that you could combine with the 8038 Battle of Endor...

jangbricks just posted his Phantom 2 review on YouTube about 20 min ago. I always like his reviews... High quality video. Although sometimes I don't agree with his opinions. ;-) He does a really great comparison shot of the old to the new Phantom, and also shows how the landing gear works, including how it snaps into The Ghost. Not sure if I am allowed to link it.

I don't understand why everyone is so against this set... It's an OT UCS that was in desperate need of an update (14 years ago). If TLG sells this set, I'll buy it for sure. The article implies that the MF might be held off until the second half of the year, which would coincide with Episode VIII. With several of the older UCS sets retiring, I don't see why this wouldn't be the case. This could be a really good year...

You make a good point. On a different note, I tried to go back through the video game to see if the Quadjumper was already in there like the luggabeast was... but unless Lego plans to sell it as basically 4 giant molds, I'm guessing that one isn't it!

The only downside is that I wasn't collecting Rebels sets... I only collected movie-based sets. Now I've opened a whole new Pandora's box.

Last week I went into a local store and they had The Ghost 75053 on the shelf... Went up to pay and the guy said it had a red dot sticker on it... Which meant it was on sale with an additional clearance of 50% off... So I grabbed it for $35 and marched out with a smug look on my face!

The link you posted is either a bad or the information has since been taken down...

What are your favorite LEGO Star Wars sets from 2016?
thorin replied to jdm44's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I really liked Encounter on Jakku. It got a lot of hate, but I didn't think it was all that bad. Otherwise, I really liked the Finn polybag that came with the Lego Star Wars video game (even though it didn't come with a bloody handprint helmet... Grrr). 2016 was a rough year for sets... So I spent most of my cash buying 2014 and 2015 sets, or picking stuff up on eBay. -

I definitely do. Two of my favorite sets from the last 5 years retired before I could get them and I've regretted it ever since. One is non-UCS, so I'm sure I'll eventually bite the bullet and grab it, but the Super Star Destroyer will forever be my unicorn!!! -
Reintroducing it with new figures is one thing, but reintroducing it with significant updates would be much better. Personally, I would have paid even more for 75159 had they significantly improved it. Instead, I'm planning to pass on it entirely. The UCS Falcon WAS amazing, but it had some negatives... Adding interiors with more playability would easily make it worth $600-$650 IMHO. I think a lot of the reason the UCS Slave 1 was so successful was because it wasn't just a model, and the designers made sure to assemble a good build with great playability and features.

Hello! I'm thorin from the the middle of America. Similar to many others, I used to play Legos as a kid in the late 1980s and eventually stopped somewhere in the early to mid 1990s. About 2-3 years ago I started getting back into it, cleaning up my old sets, sorting them, shopping for missing pieces, and eventually starting to buy new ones again. I collect the Star Wars, Winter Village, Cusoo/Ideas, Ghostbusters, and Architecture lines. Glad to be joining the forum... I've been trolling on here reading your posts for a couple years now and finally decided to sign up!

I'd say that the Shuttle Tydirium is my favorite of the ones listed. Also note that it is the oldest set of the ones you listed... So you may be smart to grab that one asap. The others you have more time to debate about... Especially the RO sets. -
Hello Eurobricks! First time post. I’ve observed this site for some time, but finally decided to take the plunge. This may not be the right place to post, but I was curious if anyone has seen pics of the 75178 Quadjumper...? I'm actually somewhat excited about that one. Last year when I saw the "Encounter on Jakku" set, I kept thinking that this might be one of those lego sets that has a "Part 2" add-on. Several reviewers noted how Unkar's hut seemed "unfinished", the set was a split design (50% Luggabeast, 50% Unkar's Hut). And I thought it was peculiar how the REAL hut is symmetrical, but the lego design seemed to be off-center, with a random technic piece left off the non-symmetrical side. Finally, the Encounter on Jakku set came with two of the plastic "shades" in the box... hm? When I saw the set list for this on, I thought that maybe the 75178 set could be 50% quadjumper and 50% a hut structure? Niima outpost feels like a collection of shacks anyways... Hopefully this is true since I think that Niima Outpost is an interesting new part of the SW universe and I love when lego lets you buy 2 sets to make a bigger one.
