  1. We haven't seen the finished lineup yet, so there could easily be the possibility of another section of castle with dungeon space, especially as it's the main ground floor level. If it's the biggest and most detailed version of the castle yet, and is modular, then I think it's a bit early to be writing it off as poorly designed.
  2. It's a 4+ set, it was never going to be anything but a simple structure.
  3. Of course they say it's awesome, Lego gave them a massive set to review. I don't take reviews to be the final word on a subject, I use them as a guide. I have absolutely no interest in the Tim Burton Batman films, other than being grateful for the animated series that they inspired. So for me I would rather that it didn't look like that Batcave. I'm also not a fan of the shadow box concept, especially as the designers tried to meld it with play features. Without seeing it modified by someone to include trophies and comic based characters, I had no interest in it as a set. That doesn't mean that the reviews are wrong, or that I'm wrong, we just have differing opinions and mine isn't swayed by having the set given to me for free.
  4. It's about 10¢ a piece, which is about standard. The dimensions are 52.3 x 37.8 x 25.7 cm when closed, so one would assume that it's 104.6cm open. The weight is 7140g. I would say that it won't be too easy to fit an elevator in a way that will fit and work with all of the moving functions. I don't know, I've not got it but I have seen someone add colour and a few traditional elements as well as Batfamily members. Only when seeing it like that did I think it was a decent set. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and no one but you can say whether it's too grey or not. It's really rather difficult to assess the playability of a Lego set based on it's colour. Either it's awesome or it needs adapting, and that is up to you to decide.
  5. Not that strong, they haven't managed to convince you that Superman is more than 'laser' eyes. Still not swayed on the Pod, it's not in scale with anything else, other than the figure sat on it.
  6. It's highly unlikely. Aside from the Dark Deco aesthetic that Burton brought to the table I'm not a fan of the films. Max Shrek for me occupies negative space. That was me. I don't know that PDM would be in the Six with that particular gimmick as - at least to start with - the identity of Mockingbird is unknown to the team. I mean he could be a trial run for Luigi, or what he's reduced to when the Six falls apart for him The only photo we have doesn't give the best view of the part of the set most people are interested in - the Pod itself. It's hidden by a buildable figure that I don't want, so it's difficult to form a suitable opinion. @Max_LegoBeast Boy's boots are purple not blue.
  7. There is a gulf of difference between a live action film that Lego chooses to make sets for, and a film that Lego had a hand in making with the express intention of making sets and figures to market it. It's not a guarantee that if Lego makes sets for or inspired by a film that all of the characters will get made. The production of future sets depends very much on how the film is received, which is why Aquaman and Shazam ended up as side characters in Batman sets. We didn't get Suicide Squad sets for much discussed and obvious reasons, but we did get sets that featured Killer Croc, Katana, Captain Boomerang, and Deadshot. However they were very much in the comics style. Lego made several sets that were comic inspired and gave us quite a few new figures. They have made figures to tie in with the animated short films, but they are very much in the comics style. We didn't get all of the characters from that film. Samurai and Gleek are still very much missed. The only Phantom Zone villains that were made in conjunction with the film were the Wicked Witch and her flying monkeys.
  8. Absolutely not, under no circumstances can I bring myself to consider that a possibility. We got Jim Gordon and Alfred though. We didn't get Falcone. Did I miss her in the film? I've got to be honest I struggled to decipher this, but we have Deadshot. It seems like your trying to push the argument that Lego DC has only been based on live action media, which is an odd thing to say.
  9. So many Batmen to choose from, but I'd my little English flag and say Knight and Squire. Superman's first appearance would be nice, as it was clearly on the cards for a potential Series 2 CMF. Donna Troy's Troia suit would be well received. The OG Kid Flash outfit. Guy Gardner all day. Both the original and most recent Aqualads. At mention of Grid I'd have to add Deathstorm For Robin see Squire above. The last new character we had was Bronze Tiger in the Bat Truck. That was four years ago. The TLBM line was 2017 to 2018. That was the peak followed by a fairly swift decline. No one denies their existence, but it has been a very long time since we've had that good fortune.
  10. @Agent Kalluswhile the build creativity is undeniable, you did touch on the particular aspect of creativity that rankles the fandom more. If the overriding part of what makes the theme popular is the characters, then the less likely you are to see a satisfied fan base when that is being ignored. Yes we've had cinematic versions of Penguin, Joker and Catwoman, but the character roster remains largely untapped. Keeping it Batman could still work. The jolting line of Batmobiles could still work. There would be three things I would change to make the line work: Firstly I would enforce consistency and relative uniformity by making the lazy Susan and display plaque a fixture, rather than an afterthought and keeping them in a tight price bracket. Secondly I would draw inspiration from Corgi and Eaglemoss, and extend the range of vehicles to more than just on screen Batmobiles, including the likes of the Mothmobile. Thirdly I would make use of the incredible roster of heroes and villains in Gotham, mixing up new with updated versions of old, and presenting different Batsuits when Batman was included. Vary the number of figures depending on the intricacy of the build as well as to keep it fresh. Also consider a relevant side build if the vehicle isn't that big. Additionally I would keep the play feature aspect in place in a manner similar to the B:TAS model and make them removable so the display aspect can be retained. As a concept this could be kept interesting and fresh by rotating the choice of vehicle, so that it's not a continuous slog of Batmobiles interspersed with random villain car #4. That's one thing that I've thought of that will appeal to set collectors, figure collectors, and kids. At the moment what we have appeals to rich people who have a lot of space and a hankering for mainly cinematic nostalgia, young kids, and folks who really like the idea of a world inhabited by two antagonistic people travelling through time.
  11. Surely as a self proclaimed Batman super fan, you would like to see sets based more on the comics rather than old media?
  12. At least with Luigi's Pizza it was a tenuous link to the topic, classic British sitcoms much less so. I figured that although the main topic had sorted of expanded beyond it's original parameters, I was very much going in a different direction with that. Sorry, need to focus.
  13. Sorry mods for going OT here, but yes I was brought up on a healthy diet of all the above, as well as Dad's Army. Used to watch an episode in the evening and then quote the whole thing back at my friends the next day. Probably should have noticed the signs then
  14. So he's got a new cape piece to make up for the lack of sidekicks, nice. I like Freeze's new dome, it looks like it will work with armour. The Batmobile is different, I've only seen it on a small screen so I'll reserve better judgement, however the oversized cannons look like the sort of thing you find on an action figure's vehicle. I'm perplexed at the message being given by the Batpod. A mech suit is a mech suit. There's an old sitcom from my youth set during the Occupation of France and for some reason there was an Italian officer, who's catchphrase was, "what-a mistake-a to make-a". I feel it's time to re-tread those tyres for when he accidentally causes the death of a Sixer.
  15. The Secret Six have no idea who Mockingbird is, but every time they gather it's at a pizza party and their first assignment is to take out a (rival) pizza restaurant. The twist is that none of them know about Luigi's Pizza so in frustration he sends them on increasingly dangerous missions. Every now and then one of the Six asks the others if they think they've upset Mockingbird somehow. Luigi is also increasingly frustrated because his customers are always talking about how they are connected to prominent characters in the city, but the prominent characters never come in.
  16. I'm sure it means something hilarious to many of you, but I remain blissfully ignorant about it. This has about as much appeal to me as fanfic, I'm afraid. Yes indeed, it's been scenery at best. I think there's building trophies and it's one of them, but it doesn't feature any more than that. In keeping with the spirit of the thing, it would be Falcone's dry cleaner rather than Falcone himself. And if our green fried is as you suggest, he's doing a very good job of ignoring it being mentioned. Or he doesn't get it. I've said it before and I'll say it again, if you come at me with this crap I will call you stupid.
  17. @legoturtlelore? Any particular favourite moments in Gotham's history that involves Luigi's Pizza? Aside from a Lego set and a collectable in Gotham Knights, that is.
  18. Don't jinx it, we'll get a full wave of Luigi's empire sets and no relevant DC characters. "Look, we've finally got Arnold Wesker's dog walker's aunt and the guy who decorated Kite Man's apartment before he moved in."
  19. I don't know what this is, but no. No one in Gotham has powers, huh? Not what I've said at all. I've not said that it's a rare opinion, or an insane one, and nor have I joined in with the banal asylum crap. My initial point that Superman is more human than Batman was skewed to reduce him to his alien powers. That's not a good faith argument.
  20. Are you trying to prove that Batman is more human than Superman using the number of Lego sets produced for each character? You're picking on an ability that Superman has as a result of his birth, which is about a sentence away from saying that the reason you don't like him is because he's born different. I can see why you aren't excited about the incoming X-Men mansion set.
  21. The guy who helps fix your car, let's the recently bereaved know that they aren't alone or those with wayward kids that they aren't bad parents, the guy who plays basketball without using his powers, and talks people down from suicide attempts in the most humble way possible. Yes, that guy. The best of us, the big blue boy scout. Your response has just shown everyone that you need to read a Superman comic before voicing your opinion on him.
  22. It's not just the idea of a poll, which would not work anyway, it's your naivety. A lot of your previous questions have been answered many times by several people, and it's proving frustrating. Your expectations differ greatly from reality, and we all enjoy wishlisting but you are expressing ideas that are wildly unachievable. With regards to Batman being great because he doesn't have powers, you have the Seven Soldiers of Victory, half if not more of the Justice Society of America, and countless others. Batman may not have powers as such but he's performing at such a level that he doesn't need them, and there are people who don't like him because they feel he's too good at what he does. As a person Superman is more relatable and human than Batman, and that is the greatest juxtaposition in DC lore. If the only happy memory you have from your childhood is a TV show then that's quite sad, and I feel for you. If you want to get a better idea of how and why Lego does what it does, I recommend finding the book Brick by Brick, by David Robertson. It might seem like a strange choice when you see what it is about, but it will give you some background as to how and why they make certain decisions. Don't be put off from having ideas for sets, but look into the background of what has been before, and look into what has sold well or was popular when brainstorming.
  23. I loved his whole GL saga, and I loved The Lost Children, but the bit in the middle was a bit meh. Everyone finds it hard to believe that you are being the real you or a very dedicated troll. For what it’s worth I’m not going to add to that. However I will say that by refusing to like anything DC that isn’t Batman, you are missing out on a wonderful treasury of great characters and stories.
  24. Zdarsky is trying too hard to emulate Morrison but with added paranoia, so everything appears to be canon with him. May I add ? Did the DCEU understand anything?
