Bronze Age artists and writers brought up on original Wile E Coyote shorts produce the finest gags. Very much the Bronze Age with this scene, but I can't deny my preferred Age was weird. There have been some undeniably questionable decisions made by DC over the years. Here, the man who flies like a bee apparently, was taking his newly acquired Lantern ring for a test flight. It ended badly when he connected with a yellow sign - yellow being the original weakness of the Green Lantern rings. Then he's getting overly friendly with a female alien, who to us Earthmen appeared to be a 13 year old and therefore acting inappropriately. However being a Graxonian being 13 was closer to being in her early 20s. To make matters more complicated she artificially aged herself to appear older so that our hero didn't feel uncomfortable being attracted to a young teenager. When you say you have the answer and then show a clip from that film, I can only assume that the question is "what film is the equivalent of watching your house burn down?"

To translate to the screen it could feasibly work if you paced it alongside the other stories to be told and culminated in Blackest Night. In order to present it to the fullest yes, you would need to establish a lot of backstory. However you can thin down the castle and tell the same story, or similarly you can use exposition to introduce Black Lanterns as the story unfolds. For most of the original deaths you need to have read the preceding Crises and other crossovers way more than Justice League books. You can get around the Atlanteans by the use of language, like referring to 'Dad' or 'sweetheart' to establish a link between characters. No one is going to worry too deeply that they haven't bonded with Dolphin prior to seeing her for the first time as a Black Lantern. There is some connection to Lego in here somewhere, and the mods have given us the go ahead as long as it stays civil and Lego gets a mention every now and then, so it's fine. @legoturtleI'll give it a try. I will definitely be getting the blue Batmobile. I really want the skyline but finding somewhere for it is the bigger challenge. Those are my favourites which is why I'll be after them. I don't hate the other sets, that's an unnecessary emotion to be expressing about Lego sets. I dislike the others, but not enough to make me care. Dream sets would be a Hall of Justice, Hall of Doom, House of Mystery, Blackgate yard with some sort of VTOL craft, a large Lantern battle with a variety of colours, Titans Tower, the Super-cycle of the Forever People, and many others too numerous to list.

It's very much a company wide story led by Green Lantern comics. Justice League got no more coverage than say Weird War Tales or R.E.B.E.L.S. Despite how much of a point he may have, this is just the opinion of some YouTuber, not an official voice on anything. It's very hard to take someone seriously when far too much of their output consists of 'ifs', 'buts', and 'maybes'.

Jerry Siegel had been employed by National Allied Publications for three years prior to the creation of Superman, and anything he created whilst employed became the property of the employer. In 1946 NAP merged with Detective Comics Inc. (the home of Batman and others) and absorbed All-American Publications (home of the JSA) to become National Comics Publications and in 1977 became DC Comics. Despite all of this the company was regularly calling itself Superman DC by 1940. DC has bought many comics publishers over the years, but they didn't buy Superman. Batman has an IQ higher than 250 and can speak 40 languages. He also keeps a large chunk of Kryptonite in the Batcave in case Superman becomes a threat. By this he knows that Clark won't suddenly turn evil, but he is susceptible to the various forms of Kryptonite, magic and mind control. For example when infamous Batman villain Poison Ivy infected him a Kryptonite infused plant. Superman was also not invulnerable when Doomsday killed him.

As we're apparently in the mindset of winding each other up with differing opinions I'll throw mine out there. I wasn't a fan of the pandemic. Claiming to be a massive Batman fan while ignoring his friendship with Superman and the subsequent friendship of their sons is a bit wall-eyed. Henry Cavill was a good fit as Superman but jeez did Snyder not know about colour and contrast, visually and thematically. Aquaman was great fun and as good as Jason Momoa was in the role, that wasn't really Aquaman. TSS was the best DC film I've seen since The Dark Knight trilogy. It was a wild ride that satirised the situation they found themselves in brilliantly. Peacemaker was a good departure that dipped into the comics nicely. Blue Beetle was fun but it was tough knowing deep down that it wouldn't really go anywhere beyond that one film. The teams and characters that Gunn is introducing us to are a good mix of familiar and untested. I don't want anymore 1989 inspired sets. Yawn. Have I missed anything out? Anyone not feeling that I've picked on their views enough? In the words of a great man these are my opinions, if you don't like them I have others.

My take has a running theme. War Wheel Takedown (£119.99) taking inspiration from the Justice League cartoon, this set sees a large War Wheel commanded by Vandal Savage trying to blast a Blackhawk Skyrocket out of the sky, while rolling through a building. Includes Savage, Blackhawk, Zinda Blake, John Stewart, Hawkgirl with the right cowl, and a token generic soldier. Dinosaur Island Escape! (£149.99) The OG Creature Commandos have chanced upon a naval base run by Per Degaton and need to procure/rescue G.I. Robot. Includes a boat build with a harbour side base and jeep, a T-Rex, Triceratops, Degaton, two guards, Lt Shrieve, Lucky, Velcoro, Griffith, Dr Myrna and J.A.K.E. 1. The Lost Children (£44.99) Stargirl helps some of the Lost Children battle the robots on Orphan Island, includes two robots and a section of building, Stargirl, Cherry Bomb, John Henry Jr, the Boom and Ladybug. Secrets of the Time Masters (£34.99) sees Rip Hunter and his team tackle a strange alien beast, includes beast, Time Sphere, Rip, Jeff, Bonnie and Corky. War World Clash (£44.99) features the Trinity taking on Mongul and his alien slaves in a battle arena, with Jonah Hex on a cyber house mount.

If you're going to have Talons invade the Batcave then by law you have to include Fido and the Butcher of Gotham as a big fig.

That book is as old as the film and has a lot of great stuff in but also a lot of things we could have had and won't ever get. I'm guessing that you are not familiar with the World's Finest title then. Or any more recent incidents of Batman gaining powers. Or any of the super powered residents of Gotham City. Not that long ago you were telling us how we should be excited for the Batpod. It just seems ridiculous next your 5% excitement level.

There's a dedicated thread for this subject but given the last comment was in January I think that tells you all you need to know. Don't be surprised if the mods close this one.

1. No Lego sets will come from this show. 2. No Lego sets have been announced for this film, hardly surprising given that it's too early to be getting that information. 3. No, it's based on the Burton films that are too kooky for me. 4. When I can afford it I'll get it, but it's difficult to get excited about it until it's in reach. 5. I'll buy and be pleased, but I wouldn't say excited. 6. Not really a Brickheadz kind of person, so no. 7. Yes, I loved it and the sets that came with it, but I don't see why I need to get excited about it years later. 8. Big Batpod is out of scale with everything else, and it has a buildable figure with it which I'm not interested in. 9. See above. 10. I'm only into mecha if they fit the character, but I'm not after a third one for Batman especially when the second one was great. 11. Not everyone dances around the room like a maniac when they see a new Lego set.

It's part of someone's username on here. I would wager that the football connotation and the Australian slang term are more widely known than a very recent Urban Dictionary reference. I'm certain it will. It's the same length and it looks to be the same width. There might be a difference in height but other than that I reckon it will be fine.

They are called Arsenal because the original team was formed by workers at the Royal Arsenal at Woolwich. The Royal Arsenal made all kinds of ordnance which attracted the nickname the Gunners. Round about the 1970s and 1980s there used to be gangs or 'firms' of supposed fans who would be violent, and Arsenal's 'firm' was known as the 'Goon Squad'. This becomes Gooners from rival gangs. The fans claimed ownership of the nickname for themselves when all that stupid behaviour eased off. There's no guarantee because it's urban myth, but I wouldn't be in the slightest bit surprised if the Goon name came from the Goon Show, a very popular British radio comedy show of the 1950s, which in turn got it's name from Alice the Goon from Popeye (1930s if you're keeping score). Either that or it's directly from the Middle English word for an albatross, which became an insult by the 1920s. In the 1940s the word came to be a nickname for the German guards of prisoner of war camps. I don't have one for the remaining decades of the 20th century I'm afraid.

Guardians of the Galaxy was 10 years ago. Guardians sets make up a very small percentage of the Marvel line. If you think that a franchise based on a comic book universe is going to be different to a franchise based on a comic book universe, then I may have some bad news for you. I get your general argument but this is a loaded statement. However most Batmobiles look like a car that Batman would drive, even the niche ones. If you want to make a fair comparison you have to put like for like.

Even when that character is Superman. It's not like it's an egg for an unreleased character. Can't believe I missed that one. Not long ago you were singing the praises of the Bat Pod set. Love it or hate it, but Justice League quavered too much at the box office to propel the franchise forward in the same way the MCU did. Lego went all in on the sets for it and either they didn't sell well enough or the film's reception was enough to affect Lego's decision. When you consider how well Aquaman did and got one set and a tie-in, and that Shazam got a polybag figure and a tie-in cameo, and then the DCEU-Lego love-in died, it is unfortunate and annoying, but hopefully the rebooted franchise will revive confidence in it.
