  1. Do you have any proof of that? Too late for what exactly?
  2. They might not have wanted to. On top of that Lego's history of producing sets for films that bomb and/or suck is a thing of legend. So when they produce a line of sets to tie in with the film but are only of previous outings, that suggests to me that both parties had a significant say about sets. Disney is also not Warner, so they will have different negotiating requirements.
  3. There was a GWP Pod a few years back that immediately went into the pricing stratosphere. I'm going to make a very safe bet and say that I reckon that this new one is neither the same scale nor of the same quality. The rest of this wave has me confused and annoyed. It's not dropping the ball because that would suggest that they know what a ball is. That and the horrendous inflation is making me disinterested in the main product and driving me to custom and off brand figures. I haven't truly cared about the theme for a good while now, and that's a shame.
  4. I can only guess that TLG was pleased with how the Ghost Rider on his bike sold. In general this wave has gone from sounding more exciting than the last one, to sounding like the Batman design team got fed up with the same old shit and rebelled. Unfortunately for us Lego thought the ideas were great and went ahead with it. I don't know if I'm ready to spend that sort of money on just a Batmobile. It has to be stunning for that price, and the figures need to be top notch. At this stage the 4+ set is sounding the most tempting.
  5. They are a tool used in the early education of kids with autism spectrum disorder. If it's the same thing in real life as in the film that's a big bit of progression that will have to be handled well. No doubt there'll be a sizeable group of sad cases who will be outraged and troll it to within an inch of it's life. I f not those type of cubes I've no idea.
  6. Oh my god. I don't want to exacerbate this car crash of a thread but seriously. Those posts were entirely worded as troll speak, nothing more. Indeed the theme isn't going anywhere, but that's because things can't move if you cryogenically freeze them. See also dead and buried. If (and it's a pretty big if I must say) Lego do produce a Temple of Doom set, it a) won't be of the actual temple and b) won't be for some time. Lego have such a storied history of not producing sets for every film in a franchise, or every location, or especially every character, that a lack of sets for the fifth film is a non story. More than that, like a non story+. I would say to a child who had just seen Indy 5, "Sorry about that, honestly the first two are much better than that."
  7. The last time he was in an actual set as opposed to taped on the front of a magazine was 2020, Joker's Trike Chase, also the last year we got a new character in Bronze Tiger.
  8. Jewish never. Middle Eastern, does the Prince of Persia theme count? Or Aladdin? In the CMF there's been a snake charmer, a desert warrior and a genie. No stereotypes obviously.
  9. Boring is subjective. Ninjago was going to come to an end after two years but it's popularity has kept it going for an additional ten. DreamZzz has been given a second wave and produces some great parts. Monkie Kid has been around since 2020 and has produced some jaw dropping sets in size and execution. And you could argue that it was made for the Asian market? Really? It's a Chinese story that was first published some 430 years ago, one of the greatest works of Asian literature, and most of the characters in the theme come from the story. There's no could argue about it.
  10. Sportskeeda reported on this back in November, covering elements of Majors' contract including length, number of films, and notably this. It was reported on because of the unusual nature of the clause. There are other sites bringing this up again now. Sportskeeda are seen as reliable and pride themselves on it.
  11. I'd second that sentiment but regarding screen accurate buildings and sets.
  12. I think you'll find you're missing some particularly gripping boardroom scenes that are just crying out to be made into dioramas. I like me some DC but I don't think that Wayne Tower is necessary.
  13. Boy am I glad I was sat down when I read this.
  14. Shadow set pictures are up
  15. Disney themselves announced that the dwarfs would be replaced by magical creatures in the aftermath of Peter Dinklage's statement. The magical creatures in question turned out to be dwarfs of Germanic folklore and not humans.
  16. Isn't there a DC wishlist thread kicking around here somewhere? I think it dried up due to frustration with the actual theme, but it must still exist.
  17. Lego's drive to produce every element in black continues.
  18. Thank you. I think they got carried away last time they tried it. I loved the increase in characters, but it was overkill somewhat, like the endless waves of TLBM sets. A Brave and the Bold wave marketed properly has better potential than seemingly thrown together sets.
  19. How far we've come since the dizzy heights of TLBM and a CMF series of it's own. I'm sure it'll be a fun set with some interesting gimmicks, but like the shadow box I'm just not sold on it, and the figure selection is about as uninspired as it's possible to get.
  20. There's an episode of The Boys where Homelander pushes his son of a roof to try and make him fly. His reaction when the boy falls to the ground is kind of where I'm at with DC Lego right now.
  21. I don't think that when they were designing Diagon Alley some three-four years ago they had the final line up for Gringotts in place.
  22. I'm not arguing the quality of the show, I'm saying that it's not really the best place to go finding defining characterisation, or more specifically confirming a character trait. Sure, it's helped renew interest in characters that had more cult following before, but others have also been subverted for comic effect.
  23. I wouldn't cite that series as lore, despite how good it is and how deep some of the cuts are. Comic Nora is now a dangerous supervillain who felt that her husband was too soft for her.
  24. Let me be the first to say welcome and don't be surprised if your very first post with your brand new account isn't taken seriously.
