  1. It would have to be a license that Lego currently has the rights to, so other properties like Ghostbusters, Universal Monsters etc. which have had recent sets but not full themes are also on the table. To my understanding it's not a revival of an old theme.
  2. Mario CMF is possible this year, since the third series is just a license Lego has done but not as a CMF. I don't expect to happen, but it hasn't been ruled out. Nothing is confirmed for 2022 yet either.
  3. The reason those sets you mentioned seem likely is because they've all already been confirmed.
  4. Don't worry about it, they're banned now.
  5. We don't even know if it is the Death Star yet.
  6. Bowser could work pretty well as a bigfig I think. I usually don't buy D2C sets since they're so expensive, but if that's the only way we ever get minifigs I think it would be a bit easier to stomach since I'd still be ignoring the rest of the theme. Time will tell, I suppose.
  7. There's rumors of a Luigi starter kit coming later this year. I really wish they'd throw the people who want regular sets a bone - they have to know there's demand for it, right? Hopefully by next year we'll start getting some.
  8. Yikes, that's steep. I wonder what they would do with that many parts. Any idea if it's MBS?
  9. It looks like Shang-Chi is getting two sets and Falconfan pretty much confirmed that Spider-Man is getting more than 3.
  10. How about Rogul's head from Nexo Knights for Raven?
  11. This. I've seen this happen both with and outside of Lego several times where votes are essentially rigged by YouTubers or other influential community members getting their fans to vote for a specific option, whether directly telling them to vote for it or indirectly by saying "I want this". It changes them from "what do the voters think would be the coolest option" to "what does the person with the most subscribers say they want". It turns votes like these into a joke and it's honestly pathetic behavior, in my opinion.
  12. Well that happened last year too, we knew about Boba and Stormtrooper but didn't know what the TIE Pilot was until images finally leaked. Guess we're following the same pattern this year for some reason.
  13. Is a dead/quiet thread really a problem though? If no one's talking then that means there's nothing to talk about, and that's okay. The thread doesn't need to be constantly kept alive with off-topic discussion, it'll come back when it's needed.
  14. These are pretty much my thoughts. It's not that hard to stop yourself if you find yourself talking about Star Wars content that has nothing to do with Lego or speculating about sets and minifigs with no basis in current rumors and take that to the proper threads. I would understand it more if we had a lot of new posters in here, but mostly everyone in this thread is a regular. I really don't get how people don't know better by now. This is my main issue with other threads like the Marvel one. The entire last page was almost nothing but discussion about upcoming Marvel projects, and some posters didn't even bother to barely relate it to the topic with a "this minifig/set from this thing would be cool". I'm here for actual substantial Lego news and discussion (this is a Lego forum after all), not unrelated thoughts on Mandalorian episodes or baseless speculation/wishlisting. It's not like there aren't threads to discuss this stuff.
  15. Well that wouldn't be a problem if people would actually use those threads instead of constantly veering off-topic here. I'm here for news and discussion about Lego Star Wars sets, I don't want to read pages of people discussing Star Wars content with no relation to Lego whatsoever or baseless speculation about potential future sets and minifigs. (This is one of my biggest pet peeves in the Marvel thread too)
  16. That's not really unusual, the Spider-Man: Homecoming sets were released 3 months before the movie came out, the initial Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker wave was released 2 months early, the Toy Story 4 sets came out 2 months early, etc. That being said, I think a general Looney Tunes CMF would sell a lot better than a Space Jam 2 CMF.
  17. There's none rumored yet so definitely not.
  18. Posted this on the 2021 thread but it's getting buried by Mandalorian wishlisting, so I'll ask again here since it is a 2020 set. What's going on with the codes on the advent calendar? On mine so far it looks like the hidden 7-digit code is actually LIFEDAY for the Snow Gonk and the Sweater Vader code is nowhere to be found. A few comments on Brickset indicated that the Sweater Vader code is actually hidden behind a sticker on the front of the box that for whatever reason isn't even on every set shipped. And for anyone who did happen to get a copy with the Sweater Vader code on it, is it still WROSHYR, or is it different for every set?
  19. In an attempt to bring this thread back on topic (even though it's about a 2020 set)... And for anyone who did happen to get a copy with the Sweater Vader code on it, is it still WROSHYR, or is it randomized by set?
  20. Also, I'm not one of the people who thinks basically every minifig ever needs arm/leg printing, but I will say that it's easy to swap a printed piece out for a plain one, but you can't swap a plain piece out for a printed one that doesn't exist.
  21. Whenever this point is brought up, the counter is always "well they should've added something that needs new molds then". I don't agree, if all of the molds used in the sets suit their purpose I'm satisfied, just playing a bit of devil's advocate here.
  22. I would assume the budgets are set by Lego themselves, not the owners of the IP, so they can pretty much do whatever they want.
  23. True, but with the exception of Greedo those examples were from UCS/MBS sets, and even Greedo only lost his arm printing after a 10-year absence from the theme. It doesn't make sense to give Vader printed arms in a $100 retail set one year and then take them away in a $80 retail set the very next wave. I can see why people are upset, sure arm printing isn't really standard for Star Wars, but the fact that Vader did get them only to have them taken away already and in a set that only costs $20 less is very disappointing and a clear step backwards for his minifig specifically.
  24. Two TIE variants in two waves is a bit much though, don't you think? Going back a few years, the last time we had two system-scale TIEs in one year was 2016, when we got Vader's TIE vs. A-wing for Rebels and the TIE Striker for Rogue One.
  25. It's the same Mandalorian helmet mold that's been in use for a while, it's definitely printed.
