LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

Not just Jedi, they did it for Hera too (but not for Aayla or Oola, so even application by species is inconsistent). -

Don't count on it. Star Wars almost never has dual molding, I believe the only exception so far has been Han from Betrayal at Cloud City. -
I personally don't think it's that bad, but I was never going to buy it anyway, so...

Permanently scrubbing an entire character from any future Star Wars content or merch, and a pretty popular one at that, just because the actor/actress did something stupid is a dumb move that I can't see happening. Even if she never gets brought back with a recast I don't think she'll be banned from merchandise and definitely not removed from this upcoming wave. Not to mention, throwing "characters aren't actors" out the window completely undoes everything in defense of Kelly Marie Tran and unintentionally validates the horrible things people said and did to her. -

Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
BigGuy4U replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
There's a lot of figures we "should have had by now" but don't. As iconic as Stan Lee is, I don't think he's that high of a priority for a Marvel minifig. -
Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

I don't see why it has to be one or the other. After all, the Ninjago golden figures are spread across an entire wave featuring updates and re-imaginings of old sets from across the entire theme's history. I'm not sure what they're doing for Harry Potter, but a wave that celebrates the Marvel theme while also throwing in a collectible gimmick figure in each set isn't out of the question. -

Either way, there's not any rumors for Andor sets right now and nothing to suggest Mon Mothma or Shaak Ti will be appearing in a set anytime soon, so we should probably move on before the wishlisting gets out of hand... -
I hope we get that, it would be cool to get some more 66 builds/figures. Seems odd that a set based on a 50+ year old TV show would be 4+, though.

There should be at least a third, since Lego specifically asked voters what figures they would want. I find it hard to believe Mace Windu or a generic red clone was somehow the fan favorite pick. -
I'd be surprised if they cut Eeyore, he'll require a lot of resources to make but also he's one of the most marketed Pooh characters, much moreso than Rabbit. It would be weird for him to be absent.

I think the issue here is just the proportions of the minifig in general that you have to work with. Piglet is basically the same width all around, so the minifigure torso and legs are a bit too wide for him compared to the head. Not really something you can get around without brand new molds for his torso and legs, but it doesn't really bother me. I don't come to Lego expecting minifigs to have 100% proportions to the original characters anyway, the closer you get to that the less it looks like a minifig, and consequentially less like Lego. My only complaint is that his legs should've been the same color as his head and arms, but that's not too difficult of a fix, the Pajama Girl from Series 20 looks like she has legs that are the right color.

Yep, here's a screenshot from New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Consistent scale isn't really something Nintendo seems to focus on, and for that matter Lego doesn't seem to either with this theme thanks to the giant Mario.

Well, it was a choice between making no money or making some money, there was really no reason not to release it besides avoiding fan backlash. -

I'll never understand why Lego takes steps forward with minifigs and then goes back on them so quick. I wonder if he'll have arm printing in the Meditation Chamber. -

The store exclusives are always still available from Shop@Home anyway. Multiple stores getting exclusives at the same time isn't a new or unusual thing, in fact there used to be even more before Toys R Us closed most of its locations. -

Huzzah, new molds confirmed! I was banking on it after Sesame Street but it's nice to know for sure. I agree that the torso looks a little weird, it looks overshaded to me. Not sure why so many people are complaining about the length of his shirt though, it doesn't exactly fit him very well to begin with.

Huh, I actually didn't know that. Yep you're right, the American SNES is the odd one out, the European SNES has the same design as the Japanese Super Famicom. In that case I don't really know what we'd get. We'll just have to wait and see, though personally I don't think there's going to be any more console sets anyway.
-
Not entirely accurate, they're actually two equivalent (but separate) consoles. The Super Famicom was released only in Japan, and the rest of the world got the SNES. This also happened with the NES where Japan instead got the Famicom with a very different design. Since Lego chose to make a set of the NES, if we get the SNES as a set then it's going to be the SNES and not the Super Famicom. Apologies for the mini-history lesson, I'm a bit of a Nintendo nerd and felt the need to jump in.

I'm going to go the complete opposite and say "I hope not", $180 is already incredibly steep for me as-is and I'll be really disappointed if our first/only minifig-based set is way out of my price range.

The issue is finding something colorful in Star Wars that's iconic and large enough to warrant such a high price point. -

Ahsoka won't be a new variant since the one we already got with the AAT is the same as her outfit in the duel with Maul. -

It's a license that has had sets before, but never a CMF.
