Those promotional shorts never had more infos and prefer to make up new designs by themselves than using something that is in developement from the future sets. Quest for Artoo from 2009 also had Carbonite Han Solo and General Grievous in it of which the first looks nothing like the block from the 2010 Slave One and the second is the same figure as the years before but with more colors as to make him more in line with the other figures they use in the movies. The Gamorrean seems to fall in line with Grievous, as he has the same mold as the offical figure but the short had this part now colored with white teeth, grey armor and the like to make him not stick out of the crowd as if he would when they had used the original figure 1 to 1, which is plain sand green.

NUMBER FOUR RAFFLE Entry Thread

I would also like a 1:1 Decal version of the figure but without the medal. My further wishlist (decals please be made for printing on clear sheets): * An open suit with shirt like John Simms Master and that guy have. Three versions: One with black tie, one with white tie, one without tie * The offical Suit torso. * The Mandalorian Warrior torso from the offical sets but with the dark bluish grey parts in light bluish grey colors. * The Boba Fett torso from the new Slave One without the brown braid and completely light bluish grey armor plates. * The same decals like above but with chrome armor plates. * The Music Meisters torso/belt like here. The decal should be one piece an be applied on torso and belt part of a figure. * This imperial officer design with different rank/pen combinations: Lieutenant Line Captain Colonel General Major General High General Admiral Grand Admiral * The Clone Trooper front torso with sand green blocks (only the big ones on the far sides) and sandgreen shoulder connectors (those small things near the shoulders/neck). * A bikini top in style of the Collector figs hawaiian. She seems to have one under the flowers, I would like to have this without the flower parts but with a navel and in different colors (red, green and blue). And very special wishes: * Mandalorian helmet decal for the new helmet part with reversed colorscheme from the regular LEGO Death Watch figure (blue cheeks and light bluish grey face) * Yellow Death Watch W for Pre Viszlas helmet I would appreciate help with this, most of it is for a special project that would be hard to continue without the figures.

The calendar includes as far as is shown two models of the green Slave One and a LAAT/I in the size of the City calendars fire truck and crane and the figures of Nute Gunray, Chewbacca and three pilots (Rebel, Battle Droid, Clone Trooper TCW Style). Bigger pics are in my photostream: http://www.flickr.com/photos/navy_trooper_fenson/5416164145/

The calendar is supposed to cost 29,99€ in Germany. I don´t think that we will get any good pics from the Fair there, the good coverage is not until next week in New York with Fbtb.net.
-
New York Toy Fair is the 13th February, Fbtb.net, Yakface and Sirstevesguide will probably be there to take high resolution pics of every single brick like the years before.

Wild mass guessing time! There were many clues directing to a Cloud City Playset that I always wanted to point those out. Well, the topic is labled as rumors, I hope theories count for that, too. * The UCS Deathstar seems to be AWESOME and very popular, I can´t see why LEGO would pass a second chance for a mega-vignette/playset monster, even though the company has a problem for releasing playsets that it seems a playset killed its parents. * I think KimT had this in the 2010 Rumor thread for quite a long time in its first post (it isn´t there anymore) but you all should know how trustfull he is. * 2010 was announced as the huge "Empire" year but it didn´t really pay off. Except Slave One every Empire set was related to Hoth and even then most of them were simple redesigns with small alterations to former products. It seems a little incomplete und not really a movie year when all your products are based on a single scene. A Cloud CIty would have balanced this out. But why didn´t they release it in 2010? Weeell... * The UCS Jedi Starfighter is probably the most blandest UCS set you all have ever seen. It made so bad in sales, the S@H had the price reduced for a THIRD in just A MONTH after the release. Normally they do this with UCS sets only after three years when they want to discount a set. The discussion topics indicate that it is unpopular because of the bad choice for a model. The simple design choice seems to come because they had less time than normal. Maybe the Cloud City was intended for a 2010 release but was canceled or put on the shelf when it became apparent that they can´t produce it in time for a release this year. The JSF was a fast and easy choice, the design process should be much shorter than with a 400 bucks monstrosity with countless functions and stability questions. It also would explain the release during October/November. It probably was produced in the last minute for a christmas shopping release. You might say: This all shows that it WAS intended for a release in the past, so why should it still come out and not be rejected? * There seems to be a void for OT sets. I guess LEGO is aware of the multiple types of buyers the LSW line has. Some people buy it all, of course, but there are some that only buy OT, or only movie stuff or only CW sets. Falcon, Ewok Attack and AGAIN a DARN Hoth Base. You remember when the Death Star was put out? It was in 2008: The first half was only PT stuff, the Stormie/Tantive BPs and the Rogue Shadow and the second half exclusively Clone Wars. The Death Star probably was filling the void for the people that only want to buy OT stuff, which would be 2 (or at best 3) sets. Cloud City could do this again, although the situation isn´t as bad as 2008, it still is pretty lame. * There are many parts they could use for a Cloud City playset. New Boba Fett, Bespin/shirt Han Solo and Carbonite block. I would say, TLC is pretty chary when it comes to molds. They only make some when it is really indispensable and/or if they have a high chance for reuse. My mentioned parts would all find reuse in this set. So, six points why it could be possible. I still hope for a continuation of this line, so this isn´t a completely neutral obversation, but it gets the point across that it wouldn´t be farfetched to actually have this set released, unlike what normally is rumored on the net like Jedi BPs.

Gender: male Occupation/print on torso: Barbecue chefs apron Type of headgear: chefs hat or the new cap mold from the rapper/baseballer in a different colour Type of facial expression: get creative Color on torso/legs: /white torso / darkblue jeans Accessory: A grill like vaguely resembling this one consisting of three new parts: upper and under bowl (possible reuse as flower pot and for dinnerware) and a tripod designed like a reverse version of the flower part with the stud above for connection with the bowl and with the three legs having the exact same length, unlike the flower part (reuse could be as tripod for a hobby photograph and Star Wars E-Web Blasters)

The book says its figure is exclusive and in the last book they explained that they chose the Yavin Luke figure because they probably would´ve never released him otherwise. I guess they continue to use figures of scenes that probably never get released otherwise. Vader and Palpatine have enough redesigns and are already in their best versions in current sets. Han Solo would be fitting, but it´s not really a figure that makes one go "woooow", just a regular Han with medal... The figure also probably won´t use new molds, it probably doesn´t make up the costs. Padmé would be perfect choice for a situation like this. We only got the Tatooine version of her and that one is not as useful as a white catsuit Padmé would be, or one in any of the thirty dresses she had. But that would also require new molds or taking one that only fits just now. Guessing the right figure seems to be an impossible task, there are just too many characters and none of them seem obvious... I just preordered it now on Amazon, mostly for the fig. If it turns out to be something as lame as Han Solo with medal printing I can just cancel it.

LEGO VIP Program Point Problems
Navy Trooper Fenson replied to Capt. Thomas Foolery's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I guess I´ve got the solution! My last purchase was the LEGO Indy game and Star Wars Battle of Geonosis Set for 29,99€ and 39,99€. The prices added up to 69,98€ and I clicked on "using points" which were 200 points, or 10€ off. I´ve got 25 and 34 points for the sets, adding up to 59. It seems that the programme doesn´t let you get points for the VIP rebate and only for the money you really pay. -

But LEGO obviously did an undescribable awesome job with 10188 Death Star. LEGo completely ignores the possibilities of such great playsets with scenery and buildings. Always starships, speeders, tanks, artillery, it is always one of those. Did a playset kill Christiansens father or something? Aforementioned sets like Cantina and Cloud City would be great to release instead of the thrid Slave One or AT-AT or even a recolour two-pack of two TCW sets that aren´t even out of stores yet! Playsets would also be a possibility for TCW. The Seven Samurai episode had a great battle around the farmers village and people love the bounty hunters of that episode, Embo and Sugii, so what doeas LEGO do? They take the ship of the two that was only on screen for like 5 seconds and just stood in a barn DOING NOTHING. Halo has no play value for kids, it looks like a boring space dumpster and is not worth for salvage. WHY does LEGO think this garbage ship is more popular than a playset where kids could play this fight scene and adults could recreate a diorama? It would be pricey to do a good job with such scenes but then, why not just cancel huge sets like Venator and the monstrosity of AT-OT & Laat/c that only die hard collectors would buy and children can not even afford? Why are the places for masterpieces always used for inferior realisations of ships only a fringe group gives a crap for? Story and visual design are two different things, exactly my opinions too, but the show doesn´t even give us interesting designs and LEGO just takes them and runs them through a brick wall before selling it (Halo, Twilight, 4 JSFs) or when there is a model that I would like to have (Awesome Shuttle) they ignore it and release three other ships with the same function. The newest wave is just a complete failure except for the new figures. Death Watch and new Clone variations (dark green corp troopers, finally my favourite color), the T-6 Shuttle Jedi, Aurra and metallic R2 are unbelievable good designed but Halo and T-6 Ufo are weak designs, Droid carrier again has the falsest colour scheme possible with a battlepack-worthy design, while the battlepacks finally look descent and V-Wing is average. I just hope that LEGO finally comes to its senses and releases more playset like sceneries. If not, then not. I just have to live with the way things are now and only figures work too. Building scenery for one self is cheaper, anyway...

Clearer final pics from www.superspielwaren.de . And the Mando topic seems to be closed. That seems to call Sharpie-time.The legprinting on the Bomb Squad is nice but it makes them stand more out of the crowd. Why do they get printing when all other troops have none?
-
The list now sounds more thinkable. Also, I thought about the Battlepacks and LEGO doesn´t have to do 15€ BPs, they could also do something like a 27€ set with thing for both sides, like the Echo Base of 2009. A bigger Endor BP also wouldn´t cancel out the forgone conclusion/guess that we get regular Endor BPs in 2012, we got after Echo base regular BPs in 2010, too. But aside from the Battlepacks where I will prefer to wait until the announcement of 2012 sets the wave sounds a little boring. Geonosian Starfighter and Geonosis BP will probably be awesome but Podracers aren´t my favourite vehicles, even more so the Infiltrator. The frigatte would be Pelta or Consular-class, not very interestingly designed IMO. With only the 2 (or 3) cheapest sets of the wave on my list it looks like my wallet could tolerate a new and awesome UCS set.
-
Best wave EVER but as many said, LEGO probably doesn´t want to release more than two 100€+ sets in set waves other than UCS/S@H exclusives. Luke in that set was only tank top version with swappable helmet and hair, no pilot gear. What i am now a little bit confused was the discussion a few pages earlier about the Mandos and their jetpacks. Did it come to any conclusion? If they all have packs: AWESOME! If one of them has it missing: Not too bad. If two of them have none: Bricklink ahoy! I don´t get why LEGO would be so stingy with the jetpacks when all 3 rebels had theirs in Hoth BP. It´s not like the packs have that much production cost, they could easily cut some down when they exclude the tripod. But well, if LEGO wants me to got to BL they should have their will.

Navy Trooper Fenson replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes

Germanys price is 40€, a little more expensive than the Swamp Speeder but still less than 7752 Ahsokas JSF & Vulture Droid. The US price will be robably also between these two.

The three SW sets you'd like TLG to release
Navy Trooper Fenson replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in LEGO Star Wars
12345 UCS AT-AT Partcount: As much as it needs Figures: General Veers (new printed torso and head more faithfull to the movie, new goggle part made of rubber for his helmet), ??x Snowtrooper (with white kamas, plastic or preferably a cloth), ?x Scout Trooper (Hoth heating-suit) Description: NO mingle-mangle of different grey colors like before, ONLY light bluish grey like in the movie (well at least at the hull). Again the exact size for minifigs like the "real" vehicle in the movie has. Functions: mandatory poseable lasers and moveable legs. Legs should also go, if possible, to the side like in the scene where Veers shoots the generator. If the belly isn´t again completely made up of technic beams like UCS Shuttle and Falcon there could be a cabin for the troops with seats, a cargo hold for speederbikes (Hoth BP version) and appliance for the troops for roping. Price: As much as it needs 54321 Cloud City Partcount: at least 100, preferably over 9000 Figures: Luke Skywalker (Bespin) Leia Organa (wwhite overall, new hairdo) Leia Organa (Bespin, like 10123) Han Solo (blue jaket, like in 8129 AT-AT) Han Solo (white shirt, like in 8097 Slave One) Han Solo Carbonitebloc (like in 8097) R2-D2 C-3PO (if they are generous metallic or chrome gold) Chewbacca (new head/torso mold. Normal Chewie head/torso part with molded at backpack with 3PO part) Lando Calrissian (new curly hair mold) Darth Vader Boba Fett (new version with: grey torso/arms/hands/legs, darkgreen hips/helmet/jetpack, metallic silver antenna / clone trooper gear and sandgreen cape. Arms and legs (at least legs) with new detail printings like the former Cloud City version, torso stays 8097 design) Imperial Lieutenant (two red and two blue marks) 2x Stormtroopers Wildrow Hood / Ice Creme maker guy E-3PO (metallic silver protocol droid) 2x Ugnaught 2x Bespin Guard IG-88 (with printed 1x1 round part like in 7930 Halo) Description and functions: 22 figures and a variety of rooms like the UCS Death Star playset had. Model has the form of Cloud City, like an UFO or a dish with two floors. Lower part has the dump, dining room, lower part of the freezing chamber, E-3POs closet and corridors connecting every room. The upper floor includes the upper part of the freezing chamber, Hans and Leias appartement, toturing room and an elevator to connect both floors as well as a landing platform for a cloud car. Cloud car can be a mini-model like Vaders TIE in the DS or a seperate set with proper size. On top of everything is a little tower with the catwalk of the famous Luke and Vader duel. The freezing chamber is very large and makes up most of the set. It has gaps like in the movie and troopers/Vader and Luke can fall down. A little crane should be build into the middle tower with the catwalk so that the freezing chamber is more faithful to the movie. The model is less high than the DS but wider. Price: 299,99€ to 399,99€ 23954 Celebration Partcount: - Figures: Luke (black prisoner clothes, no more jedi robes when he never wears them aboard the DS) Leia (Ewok princess) Han Solo (like in 8038 Battle of Endor) Chewbacca Lando Calrissian (Rebel general) C-3PO R2-D2 Yoda (force ghost) Obi-Wan Kenobi (force ghost) Anakin Skywalker (force ghost) (the force ghosts all are trans light blue plastic with trand blue printings and maybe light blue capes. Force ghost Anakin utilizes TCW hair and 7256 Jedi Starfighter and Vulture Droid Anakin printings) Wege Antilles (finally with a fitting head) Ten Numb Mon Calamari mechanic / officer / Admiral Ackbar 2x Endor rebels Ewoks (among others a black one) Description / fucntions: The Ewok village plazza with Stormtrooper helmet drums and other music instruments and several houses. A little sign that the model is supposed to be up in the trees like 3 bricks high tree parts as support stands. Those should be the most important sets for the whole theme as the walker is the most iconic and popular ground vehicle, unfortunately never really faithfully realised before. Cloud City shows some of the most important scenes of TESB, it is very fitting with the Death star as the latter showed several memorable scenes of ANH and ROTJ, missing out TESB completely it would be nice to have a vignette-tastic set for this movie, too. The Ewok village representing the very last scene of the saga is a lso a must, I would like to see this set with the ROTJ anniversary in 2013 or if not then as the very last set of the theme. -
As far as I know it can´t be exclusive to TRU. Target or Walmart are more likely for the US. In Germany it probably is Idee & Spiel. Well, a set must be known to have any presence.

2011 themes and sets?
Navy Trooper Fenson replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in General LEGO Discussion
http://www.superspielwaren.de/preview.php This german/dutch shop lists several new sets, some of the Creator sets sound new to me and search on Eurobricks says nothing about their existence. The prices are all lesser than regular. 5929 Building set - Knights €5,95 5930 Building set - Road works €5,95 5932 My first LEGO® set €10,95 5933 Building set - Airport €15,95 -
Battle of Endor shows that LEGO still accepts the existence of buildings and scenery. Kamino could be corridors and/or landing platforms, a little hall/training room and Geonosis a part of the wall fortress Anakin and Ahsoka were attacking. There were carriers like the one from Battle of Naboo set but only out of focus in the background or in far away crowd shots.

The article number is 7868 and the price is supposed to be 39,99€. Strange, the other TCW JSFs were all 26€. It seems like it´s not going to be as bland as one would expect from the past ones and it is probably an exclusive to some storechain as the number differs from the other 11 sets. I have doubts about the set myself, please don´t stone me when it turns out to be false alarm.
