  1. Name: 7656 General Grievous´ Starfighter Theme: Star Wars Subtheme: 30th Anniversary / Episode 3 Revenge of the Sith Year: 2007 Pieces: 232 Minifigs: one droid Price: 24.99 to 26.99 Euro, 19.99 US Dollars Resources: Brickset Peeron After adding the new 2009 summer jewels to my collection, I looked a little closer to my other sets and my eye fell upon this nice little fighter from the new SW trilogy. I really wonder why LEGO didn t give this set a place in the big world of The Clone Wars merchandising. It appears regulary in the TV show and is beside the Utapau Chase our only set with General Grievous, one of the most interesting villians from The Clone Wars. Well, we will never know... BOX The box shows our popular villian, General Grievous, flying with his own starfighter, the Soulless One. The General stands in a little bubble and shows of his lightsaber collection. Picture taken from S@H because I lost the box. INSTRUCTIONS The instructions have the same size as every 20 to 27 bucks set. A random instruction page from the middle of the book. The last few pages show a little diorama from a battle between clones and droids from the then-new battlepacks. The last page shows a little collage. FIGURES / WEAPONS We only get one figure for our Grievous starfighter, Grievous himself. He is the exact same fig like from the Utapau Chase set, but has no cape. The set doesn t really has many pieces, so they could have added a cape. weapons that are included are four green and blue lightsabers on a weapon rack and a blaster. Grievous with all his four arms Grievous back Grievous, showing of his sabers while standing at the weapon rack. Grievous with one saber. BUILDINGS: Belbullab-22 Starfighter Soulless One The Soulless One was Grievous personal ship as General of the droid army of the Confederacy. It was flown many times since the beginning of the war on Geonosis, where it was seen by the Republic Commando Delta Squad, and on several getaways on Skytop Station and the Malevolence. Grievous planned to escape with the starfighter from Utapau, but was suddenly killed by Obi-Wan Kenobi in a fight on the landing plattform, who stole the ship and used it in his time in exile. The ship is well designed and bears similiarities with the movie version. Things like the Droid Carrier slopes and cannons could have been thought out better, but the ship is a great reincarnation of the fighter. The models wings can be easily detatched. The rear shows small fin that can be adjusted. In the movie, the fin goes a bit into the cockpit and doesn t fold unter the ship. The fighter is on the exact same height, regardless how the fin is folded. I doesn t look good when it goes under the cockpit. I miss a little coverage for this part, but this would have needed a few new parts. I can live without using this function, so it s not so bad. The front wings have two laser cannons which are well designed for the ship (look how they look in the movie. I don t think it is possible to build them detailed in a minifig-sized set), but I find it ridiculous how the lasers can swivel from front to behind. Like the Magna Guard fighter, it is to unrealistic. The wings have brown cheese slopes for detailing, but I don t really get why they are there.I guess they wanted to have more than only dark grey and black for the colors, but the brown isn t really prominently placed. Picture from the brown/tan pattern. My favourite piece from the design. The cockpit has an interesting opening-technique. The front part moves forward, so that the cockpit window makes a gap for the fig to board the model. The gap is small, but the figure fits through, also it is much easier to just take the window away. Front part goes forward. The seat is a 2x3 brick with slope and two studs. Not very comfortable, but I don t think a cyborg cares for corellian leather like the droids from 7678 Droid Gunship. Unfortunately, the set did not come with a control panel or levers for the cockpit. LEGO shows how they care for the cyborg general with advising the instruction-following buyer to let him sit on his gun. I prefer putting the gun between his arms, because he seems to have to do nothing for making the ship fly. The underside shows nothing special. The weapon rack goes there. Complete set: The Final Verdict Design: 9/10 I really miss at least one lever for Grievous to pull or a ticker of controls. Maybe with a hologram projector, like in the scene, where Bail Organa contacted Kenobi in this fighter. All other design-flaws are forgiveable. Build: 10/10 Ordinary build without any problems. Very little technic this time (only the wings). Playability: 9/10 For a lone ship perfect and the backward-cannons could be usefull in a chase. Minifigures: 7/10 Grievous is a great fig, but he really needs a cape. He looks alittle nude this way. Also LEGO could have included a Magna Guard in this set or at least Obi-Wan for adding more playability. Price: 9/10 I miss the cape from 7255 Grievous Chase. Otherwise it is excellent. Overall: 44/50 or 8,8/10 I recommend the fighter to every separatist, starfighter-lover and anybody who has no Grievous.
  2. I found on Ebay Germany/Austria a LEGo "Custom" seller with ridiculous figures and prices. Besides from various Star Wars LEGO figures with Hasbro actionfigure heads for 50 to 80 bucks, there are some other "offers". Custom Boba fett as child (just a figure with yellow smile head, brown Snape hair, plain white torso and blue pants for five Euros. http://cgi.ebay.de/LEGOSTARWARS-CUSTOM-BOB...93%3A1|294%3A50 Clone Wars Mace windu with aditional brown head, lightsaber, cape and hood for 23 bucks. http://cgi.ebay.de/LEGO-STAR-WARS-CLONE-WA...93%3A1|294%3A50 Jango Fett for 100 bucks. http://cgi.ebay.de/LEGOSTARWARS-JANGO-FETT...93%3A7|294%3A50 You have to see through all his items. He also offers Wampa Jedis. XD
  3. I doubt that there will be sets about the new downloadable content, that will be released later this year because it is complete Non-canon, but I could imagine TFU sets like Garbage giant with Starkiller and Kazdaan Paratus. The best thing LEGO could do would be doing sets for the new Multiplayer KOTOR, including a set with many different Jedi and sith parts to do a figure of your own. But Hasbro probably won´t allow that.
  4. Like brickzone said, prices are mostly the same between stores and S@H but still I don´t get why LEGO can´t just make shipping costs lesser. I wrote to S@H an E-Mail where I asked why shipping is so different compared to Amazon, and they wrote me this answer: But I have a friend who lives near a LEGO entrepot, and I am shure that he doesn´t live in Denmark. Another feature I have is that Galeria Kaufhof had exclusive rights for past 100€ Star Wars sets (Star destroyer, MTT, LAAT/I and Venator) and they managed to sell 6211 Star destroyer for 100 to 120 bucks for its whole lifespan and the only place where you could buy it for the original retailprice was S@H, where it costed 150 bucks plus 4,50€ shipping all time long. How is it possible that the manufacturer is 30 bucks more expensive than the only retailer?
  5. I go on holidays on first August for two weeks and wanted to know if there are any toy stores in Kent (around St. Margret´s Bay specific) and if they sell new products or have good discounts. Also, I wanted to know if there is a busline that drives to Bluewater (LEGO Store) without to change for somewhere.
  6. Also, Megablocks has the license now.
  7. German Amazon takes preorders for All Space Police sets (even Squidies Pitstop, no Max. Transport) and all sets except Squidman Escape (7
  8. I think that Prince of Persia helps Indy to get more new/detailed pieces, like the headwrap. I can see a set of the cardroom where Indy searches for Salomons temple. Also this headwraps could be used for Hatay/German soldiers for a Indy 3 tank set or Kübelwagen/truck. Prince of Persia could kill the dessert aspects of the Indy line, but which sets weren´t made from that, yet? Indy v.s. Swordman is already in stores, I don´t think that children want to have a set about the german mining expedition from Raiders and all other sets about the dessert would be cars and tanks with soldiers, completely different to PoP. I don´t have a bad feeling about this.
  9. Like I said before, I only want to trade within the European Union and besides, don´t you find that a single clone pilot for Chrome Vader is a little ridiculous?
  10. I have got a spare MISB Chrome Darth Vader from Germanys give-away in Toys´r´us and am willing to trade it with anybody within the EU, because of shipping costs. I would love to trade the figure against things from my wantlist. Complete figures: Lando Calrissian (General Outfit, 7754 Home One) Admiral Ackbar (7754 Home One) Crix Madine (7754 Home One) Navy Trooper (10188 Death Star and 8038 Endor Playset) Clone Pilot (7674 V-19, Laat/i & AT-OT, 8019 Republic Shuttle) ROTS Anakin Skywalker (Jedi Starfighter & Vulture Droid, Magnetset) Parts: Lone Agent cyborg arms TCW Anakin hair TCW Dooku hair AT-ST driver and/or Navy Trooper helmet (black or darkbluishgrey) Flesh minifigure heads (only without glasses/masks and no Clone Wars heads) Arealight custom parts (from pictures) Please PM me if you want to trade.
  11. Yana, my friend. But the head comes quite useful if you use it for other soldiers. You could give the head to a Hoth trooper with bazooka who blew up an AT-AT to show how happy he is. I would love to preorder the set right now, but german Amazon still has all other Indy Sets except for this one. Also the new toyshop catalouge has no picture of this excellent set. I hope that doesn´t mean that I have to buy it in S@H. 27 bucks for that is a little too much.
  12. When you say it this way... More minifigure parts like heads and torsos hairs and hats for civilists and no stupid police and firemen. I gues everybody already has like 10 of each. More minifigure accesoirs like food and laptop/TV.
  13. They are made out of the same plastic as other parts. Same with the rebel helmets.
  14. Spanish Armada helmets Mutt hair in other colors (dark brown is a MUST, possibly tan/dark tan) Few more heads (possibly from the fireman from 7241 fire car) Flesh heads (Starkiller face, rebel with beard, etc.) 1x1 round plates with holes (like in the new board games) Yellow torsos (no print, with print, whatever) Yellow pants (yes...) Normal black hair Suit torsos Shirt torsos Fedora hat in different colors than brown 2x2 round brick brown (chocolate brown please) Laptop piece from Agents Dynamite Satchel in other colors than brown Flesh torso with sixpack printing New baseball cap in blue and black Obi-Wan and Anakin hair Aaaaaannnnddd... Black fire brigade helmets!^^
  15. Where is written that this is the exclusive LEGO SET? It seems to me that this is DKs Comic-Con exclusive and not the one from LEGO. I guess he means that Fox, Stone, Ponds and a bunch of other TCW clone troopers are very similiar because of the darkred markings and the senate logo.
  16. A few pictures from Imperiumdersteine, where somebody already has a copy of the set. http://www.imperiumdersteine.de/attachment...mp;d=1247509206 http://www.imperiumdersteine.de/attachment...mp;d=1247509214 http://www.imperiumdersteine.de/attachment...mp;d=1247509224 http://www.imperiumdersteine.de/attachment...mp;d=1247509234 http://www.imperiumdersteine.de/attachment...mp;d=1247509245 http://www.imperiumdersteine.de/attachment...mp;d=1247509284 http://www.imperiumdersteine.de/attachment...mp;d=1247509292 http://www.imperiumdersteine.de/attachment...mp;d=1247509304
  17. The Life-span of sets like Castle, Indiana Jones, Star Wars and such is one and a half years. Most City sets like the hospital theme or exclusive items have a span of three years. Creator boxes, some City sets like fire brigade truck and vbaseplates seem to be immortal. The Café was added in spring 2007, so I would say it will be canceled in Spring 2010. I would say you should order it as fast as you can.
  18. I just surfed on Amazon.de and saw that all new Space Police sets are available for pre-order, including Squidmans pitstop. Also, the sets are 2€ to 10€ cheaper than in the S@H, ecxcept the small 6€ set (here 7€). Who lives in Germany and can wait until 29th August should order there. My Hyperspeed Pursuit is already ordered for only 45€.
  19. The Assassin droid is the same figure as the ones from the BP, only difference is the white color instead of silver or black. Don´t ask me why it is white. The black 3PO is most likely not supposed to be a character from episode 5, when the set only covers 4 an 6. I guess the droid should be an excuse for RA-7, a droid walking next to Han, Luke and Chewie in episode 4. And to make it not completely off-topic: Chrome Stormtrooper has been pushed back to 31. July. I wouldn´t be surprised if he is available, right after the end for the gold minifigure offer...
  20. I´ve got the new hat, too. It probably would have decayed in the bike shop if you didn´t started this topic. Thanks! Now I need this cap in blue and I
  21. Magnetset Force Unleashed is also available in S@H Europe, but 12,50€ instead of 9,99€. I better buy another TPM Magnetset before it gets the price increase, too. Chrome Stormies still not available in europe S@H. I begin to ask myself why the Stores already have the figs and the S@H is still too lazy to offer it...
  22. But they still put it in every set. Venice Chase, Motorcycle Chase, Jugle Duel, Cannonbattle. They had it in the prelim pics of the Agents Swamp Raid, but there is a new map. Why can they do a new map for Agents but no new for Pirates?
  23. S@H just released two new procucts in the Spongebob theme: Magnetset: http://shop.lego.com/Product/Default.aspx?p=852713 And a new Squidward keychain: http://shop.lego.com/Product/?p=852714 The magnetset is perfect for me, because I don´t want to spend 50 bucks on the new pineapple just for the new squidward. P.S. No "Spongebob 2009" topic was found.
  24. Yes, much better deal. I was expecting 13
  25. S@H USA has it for 10bucks. http://shop.lego.com/Product/Default.aspx?p=852737 Fig is already available in LEGO Store Oberhausen. Only half an hour until it´s closed today.
