Just for info, Studio has been updated to version 2.0.12_1, here the changelog: Bug fixes: Fixed bug where Minifig left leg (972) doesn't have its connectivity info. Fixed bug where RGB input fields for arrows wouldn't appear in the color picker. Fixed typo in the description of the auto recovery option. Features: Added 13 new parts. Added an ability to do exact match search '=id(PARTID)'. Made visual difference for each step title in the steplist. Changed color labels for special material colors like rubber and metallic. Improvements: Filter feature; now you are able to search parts within the parts list. Added an ability to modify assembly parts such as Minifig torso and legs without breaking their original group structure.

Yes please, it looks very nice and detailed!

@pombe Thanks for the hints, at the moment I have enough space for building and sorting, not sure if I'm willing to display at all now, maybe later when I will be more skilled. Light is fine. Here I have no clue, do you know wich kind of equipment is needed? Of corse nothing professional and expensive, just good for amateur.

Very nice building!

Sorry guys/gals, another quick question: do you know a program for personal Lego inventory? Single bricks and sets as well.
-
Hi all, given that I'd like to build my own modulars, I need to learn how to use a 3D program and my choice has been Stud.io. Do you know if there is a guide, a 101 collection of tips, tricks, and hints or beginner projects to follow for a newbie? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for all the answers about the price, especially that "they go on sale right before they retire"! I just bought two modulars (AS and PR) and the new one (BS) will fit nicely among them.

Sorry I'm new and this question can be obviuos to anyone but me, will the modular prices decrease over the time? Of course not in the official shop.

Anyone have any experience with this site?

Bad quality set pictures, no address, the international prefix seems to be located at Hong Kong, but especially: "SECTION 4 - MODIFICATIONS TO THE SERVICE AND PRICES PRICES FOR OUR PRODUCTS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT AT ANY TIME TO MODIFY OR DISCONTINUE THE SERVICE (OR ANY PART OR CONTENT THEREOF) WITHOUT NOTICE AT ANY TIME. WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE TO YOU OR TO ANY THIRD-PARTY FOR ANY MODIFICATION, PRICE CHANGE, SUSPENSION OR DISCONTINUANCE OF THE SERVICE." "SECTION 5 - PRODUCTS OR SERVICES (IF APPLICABLE) ...WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE QUALITY OF ANY PRODUCTS, SERVICES, INFORMATION, OR OTHER MATERIAL PURCHASED OR OBTAINED BY YOU WILL MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS, OR THAT ANY ERRORS IN THE SERVICE WILL BE CORRECTED." -
Ah ah, I will do! Nice trick

Can I preorder this one? Anyhow another buyer here, new in the hobby and I like the modulars.

Thanks for the links!

Btw, I noticed that there is a dedicated Lego magazine "Brick Journal", is it good?

I want to be kid again!!! Great creation and supported of course

@The Reader Thanks, very helpful for me!

@Vindicare Thanks for the hint, it seem that on Ebay the Kingdoms sets are more cheaper but still pricey, why I like so much the old stuff? @Gomek Unfortunately my kids are still too young but I'm thinking to buy some Lego job lot, lot of pieces for a low price. @meliander Sorry, for normal I meant an official Lego shop price without any sale. Thanks for your analisys.

My kids and I are just saying wow, amazing castle! Just to understand how an expert builder work, do you have designed the whole castle in digital format or do you have build it day by day?
-
Great work indeed! The deck colors remind me the WWII Japanese flattop as well. I'm wondering, how many hours do you have spent for designing/building her?
-
@Digger of Bricks Lot of books, thank you very much!
-
Hi all, I'm pretty new to the hobby and am thinking to start with the modulars therefore I thought "The LEGO Neighborhood Book: Build Your Own Town!" can be a good choice. "The Unofficial LEGO Builder's Guide 2nd Edition" seems interesting as well. Are they good books? Do you have any suggestion? Thanks in advance
-
Thanks @leafan Waiting for a new castle theme, I don't want to buy old stuff at the moment.
-
@dr_spock No group close to me, I live in a small town in the Alps, but I will take a look in my area anyway, thanks. @leafan Good catch! There is a -20% sale at the moment, so 8€. @meliander Thanks for the suggestions, luckily I'm not interested in any licensed brand and the expert theme can be my first choice at the moment, I really like the Parisian Restaraunt. Space City: at the moment there is no love for these sets, much better the NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander one. I made some math and it seems that the best brick/pirce ratio is around 6 cent (Euro), normal Lego price, is it correct?
