  1. All three use high quality materials as well as often the same process TLG uses for their figures albeit on a smaller scale. It honestly depends on your preference. CAC is really good though and has fast shipping.
  2. As an owner of the Death Star I'd say take the Slave 1 or the TIE Fighter. I'm patiently waiting for the return of TIE Interceptors lol.
  3. I feel you there. Although, to be frank, the original UCS is very hefty so make sure he knows how to handle it to avoid any unfortunate drops. My dad was never really into Star Wars or Lego but he knew how much I adored the two together so he did try to build with me and it made for some interesting times. Always brighten my spirits to see parents building with their kids whether AFOL's or just some quality time. I'm not a parent but I've gotten my younger brother into Lego- now just time to bring him to the SW side!
  4. Thinking back, I would like a Gravity Well engineer. You have to admit the gold trim would be great to add to the Imperial forces. Ever since the new battlefront two trailer though I've been wanting to see more updated Imperial units. Hopefully we get some awesome figures when the game releases like TLG did for the last game.
  5. Highly advised. I did not appreciate the OT as much when younger and being an Imperial it always seemed overrated to me. My dad bought it regardless and it's one of my favorite sets now and one of my favorite building moments with him as a young boy. Well...besides building the second Death Star ;)
  6. I enjoy the concept very much! I am troubled by the execution of the ship itself but light modding should work. I wouldn't pay more than $50 though simply because I find it easier to BL parts and figures now. Meanwhile I'll hold my breath for TLJ sets and possibly later in the year BF2 sets.
  7. I mainly focus on the vehicles at the time seeing as they were the beginning evolution of Imperial warships and doctrine. I have a few old concept figures from the original books though.
  8. I'm sorry but are any of the rumors in the last two pages confirmed or true? Just confused where some of these are coming from.
  9. The only people okay with this are people who didn't get to buy the originals for their glorious $9.99. Yeah have fun throwing even more money away for the same product.
  10. I disagree highly. I think there's a wide range of Stormtrooper sub-types we could always use. An Imperial Jet trooper or even something like an Imperial Super Commando. We also should get different Imperial ranks.
  11. Alright, first of all let's quit making salty speculations about people's integrity simply because they won't reveal a source. I used to post on another forum and when I actually cared about new sets i revealed information as well. We all have our sources, and to be quite frank if you really want a source it's not hard to find one. Back on to relevant matters the 4-lom figure really looks good. Bossk looks good but I would rather some dual-molding.
  12. AT-AT: My bad I thought the significant hull and cockpit difference would be noticeable but oh well. Interceptor: The same thing can be said about the A-wing. Also, the Interceptor has made a recent appearance in continuity so why wouldn't it make sense for them to go ahead and update it? IC: It's essentially a smaller star destroyer with a different bridge and gravity wells. The hardest part would arguably be the gravity wells but we already have dome pieces that could work. Gozanti: Got me there but it's more the matter that it would add depth to Imperial characters we get but I guess people only care for Rebellion stuff now. ISC: I mean it would be just as easy to make a small battle scene set with Sabine or if they were really lazy they could release a battlepack much like they did with Death Watch. I seem to be the only one tired of the same re-hashes with minimal updates so of course my lists are going to be different. There's an entire universe filled with content and I'd like to see more of it besides "muh x-wing 56".
  13. I disagree. While I am no fan of the show it uses a lot of good material. For example, the V1 AT-AT is a very interesting concept but you also have other things like the TIE Interceptor, Jet Troopers, Interdictor cruisers, and Gozanti Surveillance ships. Although you would be using a lot of sources again and again which I understand. Lego could've even done Imperial Super Commandos.
  14. Too bad it's not an opinion but rather fact. Your only comeback to my point is an attempt to insult me? Weak. I also don't think the original trilogy would be considered a pitiful attempt at a movie or otherwise you wouldn't be in this thread. On to relevant topics. Anybody think we'll get the Finalizer for TLJ?
  15. Bloodline is alright. It's not very realistic in terms of political progression following a civil war. I don't give a damn what universe it is, no competent government would make the defense forces so hilariously weak. People also ignore that Leia created her own private army just because the Republic was wary of war. Sounds more like SS to me. They shouldn't be the resistance if they are supposed to be the dominant power in the galaxy. Too many plot holes. Nice build though. The build could use a lot more detail in my opinion. Maybe some layering for the sand.
  16. Wrong. The books and comics as well as select games are canon. If they were produced after 2014 they are canon. I don't know if you just pulled that out of your head or what but it's not correct. Furthermore I genuinely feel pity for people who only adhere to what is canon.
  17. Just because you don't see something in the movies doesn't mean it's not canon. Quit getting hung up so much on what's canon anyways. Just enjoy the lore.
  18. I think there could be a lot more detail added to your builds and the dialogue shouldn't use so many pop references from our universe in our time. Not bad.
  19. I have absolutely zero love for Rebels so the lack of sets doesn't bother me. Had the set choices been interesting perhaps. I'm honestly waiting for another TIE Bomber. It's tremendously overdue.
  20. Great scene! It shows that not every Rebel was a good guy, which was even true in old lore too. The ship interior looks great!
  21. I got the original release of the set when it first came out years ago. I took to the task of re-creating each respective room part to be an independent play base. This was also so I could have base structures for future builds.
  22. The specism wasn't usually so overt. It was based on humans having been persecuted throughout the galaxy through it's history even though a lot of the major advances were by humans. That was what it was about. Not necessarily physical traits. I like the clawdite as a spy! He better hope nobody eyes him too closely.
  23. You must not be familiar with anything Imperial related from the Old EU. There were quite a few innovative and graceful designs uitlized. The ship looks great and I'm a sucker for ships that actually take stability into question!
  24. Not many of these sets are capturing my attention honestly. They seem to be a step in the right direction though.
  25. Read from where you last left off. Not hard to follow. I'm not particularly interested in any of the possible UCS sets this year. I think I'll just stock up on the battlepacks and keep bricklinking the unique things.
