Almost unfair how good this looks. At this scale, how big would some gunships/tanks be? Too small to build into the ramp?

LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Iperial_Fleet_Commander replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Has Lego been getting more late with their announcements recently? I feel like the time between reveal and release has gotten smaller in the last few years, or maybe everything else (movies, mostly) being revealed 3+ years before they release has skewed my view of it. -
Incredible! Those opening doors are fantastic tbh, a standout in an already great build.

When did Lego Star Wars actually start?
Iperial_Fleet_Commander replied to SpacePolice89's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Damn, those prototype Snowspeeder and speeder bike designs look better than the ones they ended up with haha. -
I've had this idea for a few years, finally started on this project, but I need some help with it. Basically, I want to create a chart with as many colors represented as I can, preferably in 1x1 form (studs, plates, tiles, cheese slopes, etc, whatever's available). So, after making a chart on Stud.io, I need help figuring out which of these... actually exist. Bricklink can help, but annoyingly, they don't have a way to sort parts by color in the main search, only inside a store. Here's the chart I have, though I did leave out the rubber elements since I figured those likely wouldn't be applicable here. I have 20 or 30 or so colors so far, but mostly the basic ones that most people have (red, green, blue, grey, white, etc).

Toe Mauler (new variants!)

Honestly, even as-is, It'd make a pretty good bunker-buster, smashing through walls with those things haha. -
The Recusant isn't THAT big. At least, not most versions of it. It's only about 1,200 meters, you're thinking of the upscaled dreadnaught size one I think, which is over 2.5k meters. Both the Recusant and Providence have "dreadnaught" versions, which are basically just 2x scaled up versions of their more mass-produced design, used for command ships. I guess that gives some precedent for the Xyston's weird 50%-scaled-up-ISD look that I've always hated lol. But the base model is only slightly bigger than the Venator, and without any internal hangar, you could probably just make a very solid technic spine to base the whole thing on.

Well, if you wanna get real pedantic about it, the 2003 Clone Wars show also showed the bay doors opening. But yes, it is more prominent in TCW, which this one is based on. -
Just caught up on a lot of these, really great models all around! Mini scale stuff is always fun to see, working with those tiny pieces is very enjoyable to me lol. I did do a fast attempt at reworking the Skipray, after I had a bit of a wave of inspiration, but unfortunately its been too long since I last posted an image here, and I've completely forgotten how to embed images now haha. The general idea is to replace that jumper with a minifigure skate piece, and replacing the cone with a 1x1 with hole in the middle and a bulb piece on top.

Yes, thank you. You worded it better than I had, but yes, that was what I meant. To me, the Venator's opening hangar bay is it's one biggest gimmick, and for a set that cost six hundred and fifty damn dollars to not include that? Just seems absurd. -

I don't really want a "full interior" or anything, but the Venator's big gimmick IS the main hangar strip. It's like a WWII Aircraft carrier in space, launching waves of fighters and bombers from that central strip. Without the main doors opening, it loses a lot of the charm, at least for me. I do appreciate the side hangars being open, and the tiny gunship, but still, missing out on the Venator's main *thing*... idk, it feels inexcusable to me. I'd rather display it with the doors open, but thats not really an option if they can't open lol. It's not really a "play feature" to expect it to at least have the option to look like it does in the shows. I'd say a "play feature" would be something like it having flickfire missiles in the gun turrets or something, not it doing the main gimmick the ship is based on. It's like calling the Eta-2's wings a "play feature". -

Yea, I think I'm in the same boat. I already have a custom Midi-scale one, and honestly? I don't want to find the space to cram a giant set into in my house if it can't even open the damn hangar bay doors. Thats the whole point of the ship! Maybe if/when someone designs a mod to allow for opening doors, I might pull the trigger, but I guess I'm back to looking for a Venator MOC that has opening doors... -

I believe that ALL command Venators have the red bridges tbh, not just the Resolute. Still, it is a bit odd that they used the red bridge Command style of Venator, instead of the more well known grey bridge style. Maybe there's extra parts in the box to swap the towers? That feels like a stretch tho lol. God, I hope so. It's the second most iconic thing about the Venator, behind the duel bridges. Even a lot of really good MOCs of it end up leaving it out for more accuracy, but the clean split through the whole red stripe, and sorta inconsistent looking red along the sides (like the strange jagged bit, where it seems to close in by 2 studs or so), makes me think it's gonna open up. How detailed the inside will be... thats the real question to me. -
Of the many, many, MANY Venator MOCs I've seen in my day, this one is definitely up there in terms of quality.

[MOC] Minifig-Scale Millennium Falcon
Iperial_Fleet_Commander replied to Chrome Vader's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Excuse my language, but holy shit. I don't think it's an overstatement to say this is the best Lego Falcon out there. -
Huh, I was wondering why it looked naked. I grew up with the essential guide to vehicles, so seeing it without the bubble turret feels weird. model looks fantastic though!

Can it roll up?
