Thank you for your very quick & most informative answers. Thinking about what you've said, I think I might be bogging myself down by trying to get the absolute most 'bang for my bucks'. In doing so I seem to be losing sight of my own original requirements. Something with a 14" full HD screen & is powerful enough to run LDD etc., easily & edit the odd video. The nearest I can get is the Utopia Sabre 13, it has the power & the HD screen but at 13" is the screen too small? I'm giving myself a real headache over this. I think I'd best sleep on it. Great advice. Thank you. Upgrading to the (Haswell) Intel® Core™ i7 Quad Core Processor i7-4810MQ @ 2.80GHz takes the cost of the Upopia Haze 15 with the other spec unchanged to £1242. Do you think the upgraded CPU will be sufficient and will it give a noticeable jump in performance? Going any higher adds considerably to the cost.

They build a couple, a 13" and a 15" that both fall into my price range and have the spec I'm looking at. The only difference I can see is the graphics card, it's is a GT750M and it has a 1TB SATA hybrid drive (what ever a hydrid drive is?!). http://www.dell.com/uk/p/inspiron-15-7537/pd?oc=cn75316&model_id=inspiron-15-7537 They're both very tempting indeed, each for different reasons, but I don't want to buy one that's too big, heavy or too small. Oh I'm in a quandary.

Evenin' All I'm looking to buy a new laptop mainly for using LDD and would also like to have a go with LDD2POV and SR 3D. I also do a bit of video editing/converting. As a lot of the time I'll be using it on my lap tray, size & weight is important so I've been looking at laptops with a 13 to 15 inch screen. I use an iPad a lot and get on fine with that for browsing etc., but can't help wondering if a 13 inch screen be too small? The spec I've been looking at is: Intel® Core™ i7 Quad Core Processor i7-4700MQ @ 2.40GHz 16GB Corsair® Vengeance™ DDR3 1600MHz (2x8GB) NVIDIA® GeForce™ GTX 765M - 2GB DDR5 Video RAM - DirectX 11 256GB Samsung 840 Pro SATA 3 6Gb/s Solid-State Drive What do think? I think it's OK but would welcome other opinions. Have any of you bought a laptop you'd be happy to recommend? I'd be grateful if any of you good folk could help suggest a laptop with a spec that'll run everything above & more with no trouble and be relatively future proof. Budget around £1200. After several less than subtle hints from my Grandson I gave in, sourced the parts & built the 7662 MTT. Having just read about this beast being released I feel many, many more hints heading my way!

Hello I'm hoping one of the gifted folk out there can help me with the rear of this amazing Shelby Cobra (link below) I've been asked to build for my cousin who's restoring the genuine article. For the life of me I can't get my head round the techniques used. I've tried for around 3 months using LDD but with very unsatisfactory results. I've asked the builder if he has a set of instructions but he hasn't and won't be making any but has given me his blessing to try building it. Due to my disability, and the fact that all my spare parts are Technic, physically experimenting with parts is difficult. I can build Lego by mouth but taking it apart the same way ranges from very difficult to nigh on impossible! I've done the mid body, engine, top rear and little of the front (with the same problem as I'm having with the rear but am hoping to use lessons learnt from any help received to complete it) but I'm hoping that someone can help me by either LDD/LDRAW building the rear from the wheelarch back and up to 'boot catch' level or sending clear instructions using LDD/LDRAW of the techniques needed/used. Hello Everyone Some of you may know me as grum64 from the Technic Forum but for those that don't, a brief introduction. I'm disabled & unable to use my hands, but have a passion for Lego Technic. The nature of my disability means I build by mouth which if nothing else, teaches patience. Besides being stubborn, which helps, those who know me say I'm addicted to collecting Technic sets, having accumulated 40+ sets in the 5years since I re-kindled my love of Lego. I buy sets, old and new, faster than I can build, the 8043 & 8110 took over 17 weeks each! Well, that's enough of my ramblings, here's my problem. Touch friendly. iPad perhaps? If not what's the likelihood of developing this or Lego developing LDD etc., for it? It'd be great to not have to use to the laptop sometimes.

I'm not sure if these count or not but besides what I think is the whole collection (27?) of individual Technic Figures all with the correct heads, helmets etc., & their accessories I've got the 8712, 8714 & 8300 sets of figures still sealed inside their original unopened boxes.

No iPad support. Tried numerous browser apps but to no avail. Blast!!!!

Lego taught me the same thing I'd wager it teaches most people. Patience! Oh, and not to leave bricks laying about on the floor!!!
