  1. OMG! Bang goes the mods on my 9398! Me thinks it's time to start sourcing grey Lego! grum64
  2. Hi I used this as a less than elegant solution to the 'leaning left' problem. As I said, it's not elegant but it does the job. Grum
  3. WOW! What a great little car. Terrific bit of design/building. Jake would love something like that. At the moment he's content with my less than elegant attempt at adding PF to a 8048 Buggy. Work in progress & has been for months! The Meyra has now got in the way of its further development. By the time it sees the light of day Jake will be building his own MOCs! Again, great work!
  4. Jake says to say 'Hi'. Oh, and can you build Grum a 'chair like this because he hasn't got enough bits... You bought ALL the bits in the world so Grum can't build one! Yes you did. You naughty man!
  5. Hi Just read this and thought some of you might be interested: Lego Filmmakers Offering $1000 To People Who Create The Coolest Vehicles Anyone looking to kill some time who possesses good architecture skills and a healthy appreciation for wacky tasks is in luck. The makers of the new Lego movie have announced a contest asking fans to use the classic blocks to build crazy vehicles. The best designs will receive a thousand bucks and better than average bragging rights in the form of their creations being used in the movie. Here’s the only caveat. All of the designs have to look like they started out as another object. So, for example: a car that flies with eighty-six wheels would be out of bounds but a Chase ATM with rockets attached to the back would be product tie-in perfection. You can take a look at directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller explaining everything below… For the sake of fairness, there is one division for children and one for teenagers/ adults. The contest is scheduled to end at the beginning of December, and organizers are planning to choose as many winners as they’d like to actually use in the movie. Assumedly, that means they will pick at least one. Unfortunately for Ted Mosby and Barney Stinson, teams of fictional characters cannot apply, no matter how much architectural awesomeness they might have. Not sure of the full details but there's more info at www.cinemablend.com
  6. Hi Everyone Not sure how to add this to my previous post. Tried using the Edit button but when saved the topic didn't get to show as added to. Maybe one of you can enlighten me. Anyway, haven't got round to any building yet but I thought I'd just post a few pics of the MK 2 version of my wheelchair MOC. I've yet to address the width & bodywork on the sides but that's for MK 3. The changes I've made so far are only minor & for appearance more than anything else but I'd be interested to see what you think. Which version is the better? As before, all constructive critisism is welcome.
  7. Hello Again Great to hear from you & thank you for your kind comments. The base at the front, I presume you mean between the front wheels, is a bit of a work in progress, I'm now working on the LDD MK 2 version which has these pieces replaced with a couple of 11 x 3 Quarter Cylinder Fairing Panels (62531). I'm still not sure which looks better. I've also changed the design of the top box. It's now 4 studs narrower and less angular, it still contains the receiver. I'm hoping to install front and rear PF LED lights operated by a PF switch mounted under the seat. This way they're not on all the time extending battery life. When I've finished the changes I'll upload the photos, hopefully it shouldn't be too long. Look forward to seeing what you think.
  8. Fast & Fun... What more do you need! What is it with LDD & the 9 stud length beam being available in red only?
  9. Thank you. This is the MK1 version. I think I'll build it 'as is' just to see how I've done using LDD. I'm working on the next version on LDD. As you suggest, it'll be bigger, I'm thinking, about half as big again but this time I'd like to get it looking little more to scale.
  10. My knight in shinning armour... I panicked for a moment wondering what I'd done wrong. Thanks for 'the save'.
  11. Hi Sorry about the less than helpful topic title but let's face it, there's only one Lego Wheelchair in this forum. I've been trying to build a Lego wheelchair for a while but haven't been happy with the results so thought I'd try LDD. I've not used LDD very much at all so this was very much a case of learning on the job. This time instead of 'building' a self propelled 'chair I thought I'd have a go at a copy of my Meyra Optimus 2 electric wheelchair. Here's a couple of pics: I've enjoyed getting to grips with LDD but can't say I'm entirely happy with the results. This'll be my first MOC and isn't to scale, I've just done it by eye. I think it's a 2-4 studs too wide but I'm hampered by the wheel size I'll try & sort it out during the build. Also, I'm not very happy with the side bodywork between the wheels & the area between the front wheels. The top box is a bit too big & not 'very elegant' so will also be redesigned. It'll have PF, with an XL motor for drive and an M motor for the rear wheel steering. The AAA battery box is situated under the seat which, when the topbox is swung out, tips back for access. The receiver is sited in the topbox (though not on the pics above, my chair now has a top box). I'm now ready to build it but thought first I'd post the LDD screenshots to see what you think. I'd appreciate any constructive criticism.
  12. Just looked up Good 'Ol Mr Wilson. 'Mr. George Wilson – Dennis Mitchells' (aka Dennis The Menace) neighbour, often exasperated with Dennis's antics, though is proud that Dennis considers him his best friend.' Does Jake call me Good 'Ol Mr Wilson? No, but I'd like to think the above description, applied to me, is in his little mind somewhere.
  13. Hi OMG! As a wheelchair user myself I'm really impressed. The rigidity & complexity of the chassis is really impressive. While building a few weeks ago, Jake, our 5 yr old Granson, asked what was I making. I told him it was going to be a wheelchair. 'Will I be able to go in it?' 'No', says I, 'It won't be big enough.' 'Oh, OK... (long, thought filled pause) Can't you make it bigger?' 'No, not really.' 'Why?' 'I haven't got enough pieces.' 'You can buy some more.' 'Yes, I could, but anyway, it's Lego, it wouldn't be strong enough.' 'It will, you can make it strong.' 'Yes, I suppose I could but the motors are only little, they might not be big enought to move something that big.' 'But I'm only little.' 'I know.' 'You could make a little one, just for me. It won't need to be big & strong because your big belly won't fit in it.' (Note to self: Eat more salads!) 'Tell you what, let's see how this one comes out. But it'll be a long while.' Says I, hoping that in time he'll forget and think of something else for us to build. Now back to today. The phone rings, I answer. A very excited little boys voice on the other end says, 'Grum, I've seen one. You can build it.' 'Seen what, build what?' 'A Lego wheelchair. You can build it for me, it's very big & strong... You can fit in it... It's got a lady in it!'... It's on Eurobricks!' 'OK. I'll have a look.' 'While you're looking, Mummy's going to bring me over and the we can look on Bricklink for the bits.' To Be Continued... See what you've started!!!
  14. Sorry to hear that you're not getting back into things as you'd like. Give it time, it'll happen. Like anyone faced with a period of recovery you're impatient to get going again and you will. From your 'writings' you seem like someone who won't stay down for long. Starting with smaller Technic sets seems like a great place to start again. As we know, Lego is as good an aid to recovery as anything. As for the help you're receiving from the military, what a wonderful scheme, 'win, win' whichever way you look at it. All the best for a complete (& speedier) recovery. Keep us posted.
  15. Hi Thanks for taking the time to reply. Your comments, as other peoples, most interesting. As for running a store on Bricklink being a lot of work. I'm disabled so have plenty of time and I'd need it too. If I were to sort pieces I'd be doing it for the proverbial 'month of Sundays!' I know my time's my own & costs nothing but there's a limit. People would never wait as long as I'd need. Oh well, at least that's one option discounted. Thanks again.
  16. Hi Thank you for taking the time to impart your thoughts. The more I read everyone's kind thoughts & advice the more muddled I get. There are, as everyone says, pros and cons no matter which way I decide to sell. More thought needed, I think. OK. Thanks.
  17. Your comments provide me with yet more 'food for thought'. Thank You. As for buying the Uni Mog parts, I've a lot of thinking to do to try and come up with a price and choose the best way/place to sell. I'll let you know when I know (if that makes sense).
  18. Great advice. I'll be honest I'd not thought about fees etc,. We do have sites to advertise stuff for sale. Gumtree, Friday Ads & Preloved to name a few. Thank You. For your advise. Hi Your comments, like other Eurobrickers, are most helpful & I'm very grateful to you all. As for your (cheeky ) 'request' for the parts, once I know what's what I'll let you know.
  19. Thank you. I'm in a quandary as what to do to get the best price without overpricing things. Your answer has given me something to think about. Again, Thank You. As always, you're most helpful, I'll do just that. Thank You
