LEGO Star Wars 2023 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

Do we know for sure that Ahsoka’s not getting a new mold? That would be a real shame as in my experience the rubber head tail prints scratch very easily -
The Little Mermaid and Alice in Wonderland carts are both very fun!

Location sets are something I really want to see more of from the Sequel Trilogy and Exogol tops that list for me! Something I might be unrealistically hoping for as well is a knights of Ren battle pack before the specialised pieces go out of production -

Can we all please stop using acronyms for sets?! I understand for the books/films when they’ve been called OotP or HBP for almost twenty years but shortening set names is silly and makes my head hurt aha My Hogwarts is mostly a mix of the 2010 and 2021 sets with the 2019 Clocktower looking great in the background. I agree with you that the new combined 2023 design might warrant some moc alterations to make it more cohesive - I’ve very heavily modded my 2010 sets and out a green roof on the 2020 Astronomy tower so it fits in -

I think for me personally Yavin just looks too monochrome and drab - I was actually curious about the set as it would be a great accompaniment to the Ghost or Millenium Falcon but it’s too small for them to scale well next to it and it just looks far too drab to me personally -

I certainly won’t complain about more unique build-a-minifigures pieces! I wonder if Arin and Sora are to raise awareness for the new season but I think the core outfits might be because there’s a lot of excess pieces after two years of core sets lol -

A giant staircase tower or a version of the Bell Towers would be cool to see in this current style of Hogwarts - a giant version of the staircase GWP which also works as a tower from the outside would be so cool -

It’s quite promising that we’ve essentially been given two battle packs this year (albeit at crazy over-inflated prices) Hopefully Lego sees how profitable the classic combination of four troops and a side build can be Hopefully next year there will be a blue Mandalorian battle pack which can work for either Bo Katan’s faction or the original Death Watch -

Those would be good too! I reckon there’s a strong chance this gives us most of the missing characters apart from Snow White and the prince from Sleeping Beauty (as both seem to have potentially been planned for sets next year) Theyre not really a good fit for the castle but I hope Lego realise the profitability of Encanto so we get Mirabel and Bruno figures soon rather than later -

Ah nice! Hopefully there’s figures from newer films: I’d love Merida, Rapunzel and Flynn -

Every set in 2024 should come with at least one casting wand! They seem so useful and versatile Am I right in thinking they only come in two colours this wave? From what I’ve seen there’s a dark brown wand in two sets and a white wand for Voldemort. It would be good to get it in reddish brown and tan next year -

Yeah I’ve looked at more pics and feel pretty prepared! And tbf I don’t like most of the tan-coloured Rexys. I quite like the natural-looking Rexy in the Visitor Centre but I’m hoping if I get a T-Rex for cheap I can save money and just get the brachiosaurus instead 😅 -

Also did anyone get the 4+ T rex set? I’ve caved in and bought it just to get a Rex for around £30 but now I’m looking at pictures of it online with other dinosaurs and worrying about how bright a green it is -

What I meant was the animated Lego specials like the Legend of Isla Nublar. Those specials seemed like an excuse just to make sets loosely connected to JW which is fine with me! -

That’s not a terrible price for the battle of Hogwarts but the room of requirement seems like a better deal in terms of interior. I want to get the battle set to make a bridge for a castle but I think I’ll wait until I can find it reduced for £60 or something -

I really hope Lego does an in-house tie-in again - it could give us animals like Dimetrodon, Allosaurus or Stegasaurus -
LEGO Ninjago 2023 Discussion
Darth Shadowthrone replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
The name makes it out to be more than it is but I think the Lava dragon is pretty good value - I really like the colour scheme and there’s no weird body shape or technic wing design like other dragons. I was worried it would be £60 or £70 - With a bit of a discount to put it at around £40 I’ll be very happy with it. Apart from the three gimmick sets how many come with balls? -

Oh no! I thought this would be a cheaper year for me, for Ninjago anyway, but then I saw that lava dragon. I prefer dragons with less stylised designs and more muted colour schemes so that Lava dragon is right up my alley. That brings me up to three dragons I want this year: water, earth and lava. Hats off to the designers, they’ve absolutely smashed it on the dragon front! That temple build is also the best they’ve put out in a few years too. -

I think this theme is obviously super successful and has a lot of funding for prints and new pieces so the designers are diversifying to appeal to general Harry Potter fans as well as collectors Personally the only 2023 sets I’ll end up getting are the Second Task and Gringotts. The only 2022 set I feel like I have to catch up on is Grimmauld Place so I feel quite relieved I can have a bit of a budget for other themes as well 😅 I love that Hogwarts build! The other sets don’t really interest me but I am saving up for Gringotts anyway -

Speaking of which: I really hope that this series has the same distributions and placements of figures in each box! That way it will make it slightly easier in Lego shops if the employees want to help
