Lord of the Rings Ongoing Discussion
Darth Shadowthrone replied to Momotof's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I’m in a very lucky position in that I still have most of the 2012 - 2014 sets and minifigures so it’s mostly potentially larger sets that interest me, or very small ones which could be used as army builders With a version of the medieval village being made I hope Barad Dur isn’t far behind - somewhere between March and August I imagine. I could see it being fast-tracked after the success of Rivendell Then next year they will have had time to design other sets from the films which they can also loosely connect to rings of power - even if they’re just based on films we could get Galadriel and Celeborn in a D2C Lothlorien, or the Numenorian architecture of Minas Tirith -
Lego Avatar 2022/3 - Rumors & Discussion
Darth Shadowthrone replied to Mr No's topic in LEGO Licensed
Wow, this is such a pleasant surprise! Although it was part of the whaling sequence the speedboat with the harpoon could be a fun set. Or maybe Quaritch’s banshee? The big boat which sinks at the end could work too. Also in terms of figures it’d be really cool to get some of Quaritch’s avatar squad - waynefleet, one of the female squad members or one with sunglasses would fe fun As someone who’s interested in this theme for the Naa’vi figures and wildlife, it will be interesting to see how a balance is struck between RDA and Pandora builds -

Oh no no no ... I'd say that the GWP is the last thing I need but that sounds amazing! The only problem is that I wasn't planning on getting Gringotts this year, I was going to spend longer saving up. Lego really know what they're doing throwing in these sizeable GWPs alongside these massive D2C behemoths -

I definitely agree that there SHOULD be another battlepack this January but I would have it come out alongside the Clone battlepacks, not instead of. I genuinely think 2014 was the pinnacle of Star Wars sets - there were 4 small sets that all counted as battlepacks . Ah, to be young again... -

Oh wow imagining a BAM station with years worth of minifigure parts is very enticing. My nearest Lego store is quite a small one in the south of England so parts get cycled through a lot -

Some might disagree but I think it would be really cool if there was the same ratio of different clones as the 2007 battlepack - two shinies, one red one and a yellow one. If that were to happen I would honestly consider getting 3 of that set, enough to have small squads of each trooper. -
Favourite sets that you own
Darth Shadowthrone replied to AmperZand's topic in General LEGO Discussion
There are 3 sets that I have always had on display and never parted out: the 2015 Millenium Falcon, Diagon Alley and Bag End My favourite themes of all time would be Harry Potter, LOTR and Star Wars - tho I did become disinterested in Lego Star Wars between 2016-2020, it was the Mandalorian sets and the return of battlepacks that drew me back in -

I can't remember what theme it was for but I remember someone leaked a specific wave of Lego sets and got fired for where they were working in a toy shop. That's the only time I've heard of a leaker getting into trouble -

Darth Shadowthrone replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Ignoring the raptor feet would a recoloured Beta or Atriciraptor figures suit a juvenile T Rex? There’s a juvenile Rex in the first JP novel that’s still lethal and bigger next to people so it would be cool to get -

Hopefully the baby set has at least two babies - a new Dino and a reprint of one of the others - if I had to choose between the existing ones I’d pick a differently coloured baby trike as they feel more common in the films -

Plain white Phase 2 clone troopers sound great to me - they're very useful as they can fit alongside any clone commander and can be background troops for other legions imo Honestly I think if it is a plain trooper battlepack then I'm much more inclined to buy multiple copies compared to the more specific clones - the one thing which would hold me back from that would be that $30 pricepoint. What was the lowest price the first 501st set was discounted to? -
Lego Dreamzzz 2023
Darth Shadowthrone replied to bricks4live1972's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I love the Dreamlings! They were what drew me to this theme - I got the village set the other day and fell in love with it and with the adorable lil guys. After trying out the combined build and seeing the advertisment showing the village buildings combine with the giant tree I'm worried it will be a gateway set that encourages me to get more invested in the theme -

Hopefully the Cap set has Red Hulk! The character is such a no-brainer for toys sales that hopefully he'll be shown in a Trailer 2 or something and not treated like a third act twist so he can be in the lego set straightaway. I definitely think this set will have at least some villain for the heroes to fight tho - I feel like Lego have stereotyped the Hoopty as a set for girls with no conflict and just the female characters and cats . A spaceship is also enough to sell a set on its own - I imagine the Cap set will be carried by its figures with some kind of small facade and a vehicle, maybe like this: -

I know that there's rough estimates of shipping times on the website but have you guys found an average time between getting bestseller pieces and then the rest of the order? The bestseller pieces from my order were delivered to me in the UK last week and I'm just wondering how long roughly I'll be waiting for the rest of the pieces -

Lol I'm imagining something really blocky that definitely won't be swooshable - like trying to fit all 4 clones in the new swamp speeder Is there even a cockpit in the 2024 battlepack build? -

Speaking of - it would be really cool if the big D2C Burrow set is based on either Deathly Hallows or Chamber of Secrets - any chance they could include some gnomes? -

Apart from the Durmstrang ship is there anything people are still waiting for in terms of sets? For me a Philosopher's Stone Forbidden Forest set would be cool, or a new small Mirror of Erised set. The only thing that'd be really great would be some kind of Order of the Phoenix Death Eater battlepack -
Marvel Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
Darth Shadowthrone replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
It's funny how both mechs and buildables are going to coexist for a while lol. Also I wonder if Lego will do anything to improve upon Venom - the mechs sometimes include more detailed minifigures. Personally I'd love for Venom to have a detailed head-shoulder mould like Chewbacca or Azog so he can be bigger than Spider-Man, but I suppose any Venom figure will just be a standard minifig with new printing -

Does anyone reckon that Lego shop employees will keep track of where the figures are in the cmf boxes so they can help customers? If not I imagine I will only get them one at a time, and even then I will probably max out at a couple whereas I bought half of the first series. -

This is gonna be controversial but I I’d actually prefer live-action figures - as a minifigure customiser it’s always useful to get more diverse faces and skin tones and purists would find it quite easy to swap the heads and hands if they want all the characters to be white Regardless of which version of film the potential set is based on, how much might the set be? I’m imagining anywhere between the Winnie the Pooh set to the little mermaid clam -

Really good points, I think I’ve been feeling similar about this set - I like it but I don’t love the building. The bank is symmetrical and much more accurate but I almost wish it had some the more conventional charm of the 2011 Gringotts with its bigger door and columns + actual windows. That being said I think the underground features are the best parts of the set and also highlight a trend the designers of Harry Potter have stuck to for years - they never do playsets of just an interior or a diarama like Star Wars or marvel. I remember in 2011 there was a prototype of a Malloy manor interior play set that never saw the light of day - perhaps because the minifigures were not enough of a draw for a build that was just a backdrop This might just be me but I think that one thing hp has had going for it is strong builds in every set, not backdrops or bases that are just thrown in to accompany mini figures - now I think about it the recent graveyard duel is one of the only genuinely weak builds we’ve had
