Well, the display value of the Destroyer is questionable, with that flat bottom...on the other hand at least it doesn't need a stand. I am actually quite glad that I don't like most of this wave's sets,(even more glad is my fiancee :D) because I'm starting to outgrow my apartment with LEGO But the bomber will fit for sure once a bigger discount is available

The whole line in itself is just overpriced. And I'm not saying this in an "it was all better in the past" way, it's objectively, even compared to the previous waves overpriced. That said, I surprised myself with a Silencer for my Bday using some VIP points. That way it was ok. But - sorry for repeating myself - the full price is appalling, and the underside and back of the ship are very unrefined in my opinion. Haven't seen the source material of course, but I can't imagine it would be close to those chunks of linear surfaces at the back. This wave has a few nice sets, (BB8 as mentioned, the Bomber) but I only recommend buying at a discounted price.

I snagged a TIE Striker for almost 50% off, still not one of my favourites, but having built it, it's not too bad. Especially for this price.

I really don't want to pour gas on the big dumpster fire that is this price discussion, but this kind of thinking is just obnoxious. Just because you or I live in a country where that might be true, trust me, that's not the majority. I come from Hungary, where most people don't even make this kind of money in a month. The people who can - and will - afford this set are obviously over-represented on this forum for the simple reason that it's pretty much dedicated to them. That doesn't mean there are tens of thousands who will buy it. But that's ok. It's an insanely priced, but also insanely high quality, niche set, LEGO knows their collectors, and for the some who are longing for such set since years, it is a treat.

My birthday haul: Kylo's TIE, FO battlepack, plus a FO snowspeeder microfighter just to reach the price limit for the free walker. Not my best purchase, if it weren't my bday, I wouldn't have bought it, and not even going to buy anything else from this wave until they're discounted.

It's a very creative rendition of an otherwise terrible, horrible, no good scene The waterfall (?) could use some more transparent bricks though, but you've clearly built from a limited selection of parts, so credit is deserved.

That's Vader's TIE Advanced 10175, pretty clearly. But if we follow this logic it could also be a huge Stormtrooper head... About the sets on the packaging...these are obviously sets that can be connected to the current release. As some pointed out, the Falcon was not the next set after the DS re-release, but if we keep saying "the next UCS is going to be the this or that" it will inevitably become true eventually. So go on, one day you will be right. Also, I'm not sure this warrants a new topic in itself but I just couldn't refrain from commenting...

I already brought this point up, of course, they've changed a few parts, but that's still just a part of that ship with new minifigs...disgusting really. Even if it's such a pivotal "ship" in the story - which I highly doubt - I don't think they couldn't have found a more justifiable set to include these figs. This may very well be the worst set of this wave.

well in light of the UK prices it's all the more disappointing seeing the Swiss prices. The star destroyer and the walker are not even in the same price here. If I apply my VIP discount that I already collected, it comes out about the same price. That's an average 15 chf more for all the sets than what you have to pay. wtf But the bomber is just ridiculous....nothing justifies that price.

That set is a disgrace to begin with, but the pricing is the same in Switzerland. But everything costs more even in Euros than the previous waves. THe bomber is a lot less pieces and costs more than e.g. an X-wing

probably not many are interested at this point but the new sets are up, and boy, the prices are disgusting the LJ sets are not visible by default by all the shops but if you open one in e.g .the german one where they are listed already, you can change at the set details

Now would be a good time for lego to introduce payment plans :D

To me, the most fascinating is how inconsistent LEGO is with this series...the packaging clearly calls back to the first UCS models, but after a brief period of the Ultimate Collector's Series badge now we're back to Ultimate Collector Series Probably just my defect, but that bothers me more than the lukewarm minifig selection.

Yes, it's easy to be cool about it on the internet...but when your balls are on the line, it gets real very soon! But yes, that's another tactics, keep her in the dark I hope at least you have a shed or something where you can live with your Falcon once the missus has thrown you out of the house
