  1. You could always buy TWO. one to create a moc with, and one to keep as is And welcome to EB!
  2. Now who's in charge? How Stormtroopers deal with the stress. As part of the Imperial Army's Post Traumatic Stress recovery program, soldiers are instructed to act out their frustrations with dolls. "Find your OWN damn droids" "PEW PEW PEW" "LUKE! I am your FATHAH!" --yes, I'm avoiding sorting/moc-photo cleanup work.
  3. Thanks BD! I've always wanted to try the Cheese wedge thing... it was easier and way more annoying than I would have thought. Though I couldn't figure out how to make it perfect, there's actually 2 wedges missing (cleverly hidden) as a pressure release point... if I put the final two in, the thing literally explodes in like 5s after I let go . What? Champion C3-PO coming out of Retirement for a fight? Unlikely. Last I heard C3-PO had his gloves dipped in gold. ....as well as the rest of his body....
  4. Clearly the Zombies have chosen poorly. The rich knights have no brains Lovely rock work and nice castle. And the lighting has an ominous impending 'feast' feel to it
  5. ROUND 1: K-3PO vs Protocol droid. What's the protocol for a SMACK DOWN? And it looks like K-3p0 has got P-D on the ropes!: ROUND 2: K-3P0 vs S1 Robot. WIll K-3p0 be KO'd? And a special for all you EB members, RING Side seats: ---- Comments and criticism always welcome!
  6. Thank you for doing this indepth review - It is a set I have admired from a far for a long time, and it's nice to 'see' it truly for the first time. Sadly I will likely never actually own this set, even though it contains possibly my most favourite minifig (which I have *cough* a few of).
  7. I'm a sucker for Greeble! and you've done a nice balance of having lot of nice greebling but not too much to overwhelm the walls. I also particularly like how you have some studs 'in' the wall instead of sticking out - looks nice. Lastly, I love just the HINT of the like creeping form behind from the seams, just adds enough background detail. Excellently executed moc! PS - while I know this pic shows off all the wonderful background, I like the 'what lurks in the dark' picture better, it's very well lit and great photo!
  8. If it was family with kids, I'd probably let them play with it - I'd probably play with them, so worse they can do is break it - and I can rebuild. And I'm sure if they wanted 'borrow' lego, I'd just give them something since it'll never come back the same way it left. In terms of AFOLs I lend brick out to a few choice people, I know where they live Though I haven't really seen any returned... yet
  9. I dig. There's a sense of realism, it actually feels like what a space cruiser might actually look like. Simple, a bit utilitarian - opposed to some other ships out there that are completely fanciful. Not that there's anything wrong with that either, but it's refreshing to see stuff like this. And of course the build is self is great, I love your use of studs. Very effective and gives a great 'rivet' feeling to it. Well done! (also nice lighting too! - makes it really feel like it's in space!)
  10. Tres bien! The idea is fantastic, the build is clean and clever. Great use of pieces. that Cave is brilliant. Definitely my favorite among the L13 contest - and I REALLY liked the other ones!
  11. Wow. Truly an impressive MOC. What's not to love? The rocks are great with the striations/different rock compositions. The foliage is great. the paths are brilliant. The modularity is fantastic. that one dead tree... wow. I know I'll be coming back and dissecting the build and trying to catch all the awesome details (thanks for all the good shots on mocpages). Question on the raised platform, I see they're sitting on pillars, but are those baseplates on top of the platforms or just regular plates/bricks? The only suggestion I could make is maybe try to throw in a bit more green variation. In person/close up shots it'll look better, but some of the photos it's almost like just a green blob even though I *KNOW* it's more than that - stupid brain.
  12. D'oh! right you are! I need fact checkers next post! Thanks! It actually worked out quite well, I ran out of Orient Adventure guys by the end. So it will never be longer than this.... maybe taller hehe thanks. Sadly I have no where to put it, it's too long! I think LEGO is still too expensive for the mainstream Chinese market relative to the medium incomes, though i'm surprised some of the other local brick makers didn't do this in china - great marketing chance!
  13. What about bringing some other baddies in fortress for a feast/party? or maybe an auction? sell off some Blue knights slaves. or evil carnival! Evil slow pitch softball game? I think the last one is the best
  14. All hail our new Town Co-Overlord RC!
  15. I Want one! both the moc and the car :) Very nice and sharp build!
  16. I agree with Artanis! What's the back story!??! Who is the professor? Who are the captives? what happened? WHAT HAPPENED!?!?! Nice dynamic MOC but you (purposefully?) leave us wanting for more!
  17. Wow. Fantastic. The wait for the lime green is worth it. The shape is really unique and sexy. That base is is so simple but works so well. Really well done!
  18. ack! I'm one day late! Happy birthday Def!
  19. Tres Bien! The sky is lovely! But what really caught my eye was the nice path and rock - very cool. And the LGM repelling is fun :) The only thing I can suggest is maybe putting 2 upside down curved wedges under the saucer to make it rounder, but you can barely even see the underside. .... haha I just figured out why you called it HEY hahah that's very very clever :)
  20. OH NO! WOn'ts SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE LGM! Wow absolutely fanatic build. The ship itself is well build and the crash landscaping is wonderful, but what made me laugh was the LGM being run over Fantastic idea having the swappable pavement. Heck even the truck is nicely done! How did you manager to do the truck blur? BTW you forgot to crop your 3rd picture on your second post ;)
  21. Where's the eye roll emoticon? That's actually a fantastic point that I never really thought of. Recently I've been trying to give more comments to newer builders/people that didn't get many replies, but I think I'm very guilty of of overlooking the 'intermediate' builders. I think the moral of the story is, everyone should get comments and feedback, cause isn't that really the whole point of EB and and the social net? who doesn't want a pat on the back or comments to improve on your building technique - as long as it's constructive criticism , I find it hard to believe anyone would not welcome it.
  22. That is freak'n fantastic! Fantastic work
  23. Thanks all! Most cameras, even the digital pocket cams will have the option - try setting to 'A' (or aperture) or 'M' (manual) mode - take a look at the manual. The DSLRs just let you control a lot of these functions easier. My TV is hooked up to my computer so I can control the colour the output at will Well done sir, you found the Space-Ninja ! You get a cookie!
  24. I kinda like the landing gear. very cool little bike. Those little propeller are well done.
  25. Thanks everyone for the kind comments! I'll keep that in mind :) Thanks! I tried to capture the 'feel' of the Great Wall, while sizing it down to be actually buildable Ha! You caught me. Most of the stuff I'm posting I built for a show, I'm just getting around to photographing it now (after getting a big enough backdrop). And yes, I have waaaaay too much time on my hands Thanks! I like to try to do a bit of research and try to provide some useful information or something entertaining to read along with my mocs haha you guys are sharp! Yes it's absolutely not to scale at all. The actual wall is much higher, maybe twice as tall, and maybe 3-4 times wider depending on the area. You could actually ride 2-3 horses along the wall. Even the elevation is compressed, there are some pretty sharp elevation changes. So yeah, I wussed out due to brick requirements Though a much smaller moc to scale might be an good idea for another Moc ... some day It's a Lollypop Ang has such a happy face ... he needs a reason to be happy... like a lollypop!
