  1. Ricey - I'm just using this avatar during the Darkness game.

Legodac - oh I'm most definitely will be there with a truck full of MOCs ;)

Though not a lot of town stuff :-/

  2. HAHHA that parachute is brilliant, it does't ACTUALLY fit inside does it?

    Canadian Eh?

$5 bucks a pop, with no shield nor armour? I think not! maybe if I was building an Army of Squires!

Hahah I know what you mean. I had to wean myself off army building, I had a pretty sizable Fantasy Era army (Blue guys), yet I never used it once I didn't even assemble them all and display them ... /le sigh YOu know what, I should build a Keep for Brickfetefor these guys... Anyways, While the red guys are pretty nice, I love the Dragon Knights though... 'thankfully' there's no quick way to build an army of them.

HEHE I bought the wrapping paper too I think I'll use it and wrap up some CMF gifts. Cause redundancy amuses me. I also got the Canadian key chain - thanks for the heads up Ogre! Now if only they'd get the Green Dragon Knight battle packs.
  7. WHEW. Good thing we got that sorted out before the game started
  8. WOW. That's awesome. hehe well done sir! well done.
  9. whoa very nice. Did you build it based on the drawing? or the drawing was based on the MOC? Have you considered building it in minifig scale? :D
  10. The Bomb Squad shield is pretty darn spiffy. Though (un)fortunately I think I'd only get one or two for the bomb squad, they would have been nice to outfit entire urban ground force with them. - Anyone know if it's easy to remove the text ? and on a unrelated note - what happen the to the UN helmet? or did I miss the boat? :(
  11. I am the night. I do nothing and everything. When DEF sleeps, I am awake. When DEF falls, I run. When DEF runs, well I try to keep up. You get the picture. I'll be DEF's Assistant, have fun all :)
  12. Thanks Ogre. Hey does anyone know if those SW magnets are the 'new' kind with the glue, or the old ones you can rip off? I agree with above, the target practice is a better set, but I like ADU better
  13. There are a lot of good ideas in this thread for future possibility of the return of the monorail. Unfortunately I think it’s a far-far distant future. As many have chimed in, the monorail was simply very unprofitable for TLG. Even with the advent of AFOLs fanbase that absolutely loves the monorail – its reintroduction would unlikely to be profitable (or more likely a greater risk than TLG is willing to make). Some would argue that AFOL market sets do well – which I concede is true – but keep in mind when TLG put sets that are geared towards AFOL – they also ensure that they would also interest kids, which are their primary market still. Unfortunately I think the Monorail sets would fail the latter (or at least not in the quantities necessary for the set to turn a profit). Now that’s not to say that it may never happen – look at the continuation of trains and their continual evolution – there obvious is interest by kids to have mass transit systems. But unfortunately I don’t foresee that extending to monorails for a extremely long period of time. I can only see TLG releasing such set in the far distant future when monorails (or as pointed out its variant: maglev) trains are commonly used around the entire world – as TLG is a global brand trying to satisfy the needs of kids everywhere. Also with regards to the OP’s original comment about the return of the beloved Maersk set, it wasn’t the AFOL community’s petitions, or a wondrous gift that TLG decided to bestow upon us, it was Maersk that wanted its return. Sadly I don’t know of any Monorail companies that would likely want to step up to the plate
  14. In all my years I’ve actually only called up Customer Service once. I’ve had a few missing pieces for the most part they weren’t anything major that I couldn’t easily replace instantly. Though my friend’s once had the wrong bag (duplicate of existing bag). But I was actually quite surprised how accommodating and nice they were, I had received a 9v train as a present from overseas, and DAR, no one (including me) thought about the different transformers, being my first train set after my dark ages, I was well frankly a bit disappointed, so I called them up and I was very straight with them – it wasn’t missing – it was just wrong continent – they put me on hold to talk to their supervisor – as it’s a pretty expensive item – and after a few minutes of music, they came back and said no problem and in few days I had my little cargo train flying around :) On a related note, I did meet the customer service people once (not the call center, but the pickers), they were very cool. And I saw the massive isle of ‘retired’ set parts that they kept around – just in case :) But seeing how busy they were, it dawned on me how often there are missing/lost pieces... but percentage wise it must be low given how many sets get sold around the world...
  15. DOOOOOOO IT!
  16. Fantastic build, I'm glad this got bumped :)
  17. Ha! Brilliant work with the wires, I love the whole hanging effect. Very nicely displayed set :)
  18. Well since the assistant spot is taken up, if there's room, I'd love to play.
  19. I would like to volunteer for this position, opposed to actually playing the game. I unfortunately am fairly new and have no experience in the ways of mafia-ing - but I think it's a tremendously interesting idea, and the idea of simply following instructions sounds like a good idea to get my feet wet. And of course not taking away a precious player position. So if you will have me, I would gladly be your humble squire.

    Canadian Eh?

Thanks for update the PAB wall. -- Oh cheerleaders! Do they still have the get a free BAM /w $75 purchase? For future reference you can scoop out the good stuff from the back into another cup, and slowly building that into you quasi-solid PAB cup (thus not holding up the staff). but make sure you fit it all in otherwise they'd be annoyed ;)
  21. Interesting subject. I might as well get my obligatory story out of the way, my Alias is a poorly disguised variant of my actual name: Simon (rotate the C in SI-mocs 90 degrees). Though I also go by the name 'brickgoalie' which is a less subbtle Lego reference. Though there is nothing to be said that you have to have a LEGO-related alias. Especially in a LEGO-centric board. Sometimes I feel it gets a bit redundant – like Lego tshirts – they’re cool, but slightly less cool if everyone is wearing them ;) Personally, I like aliases that have a clever pun to it, so maybe as Omi suggested, work brick or stud or something into your name. Or is there a particular piece that you are particularly fond of, or one you use a lot in your creations? Or perhaps favorite a colour? Maybe make one of these as a basis of your name? Or since you’re a couple, perhaps choose an appropriate LEGO piece? Like a hinge or a turntable – something that’s two pieces working together as one - like how you build your creations together.
  22. You used those flat tiles for THAT?!?! :O but but but but... they're so awesome for SHIP cladding and runway strips. /cry I guess that's pretty cool - I'll admit the cat is pretty awesome :) The most 'useful' LEGO thing I ever built was some battery 'bins' for the wii, I had a white one for good batteries and a red one for 'recharge me'
  23. You know what, I don’t even think I know who Dr. Spock is haha. It should be fairly simple to find it us, if you’re going to see all the MOCs, you’ll probably end up seeing virtually everyone – worse case we should all have name tags – so just ask for ‘Simon’ And to make it super duper easy I’ll wear my bright red cobra tshirt. Or perhaps I’ll wear my ‘Where Waldo’ costume… probably the former.
  24. Oh oh. Pressures on now. Can't let sok down. Ummm that's a good question - how would you recognize me? Sadly I don't look anything like my minifig (i wish!) I'll be in the Arts and Architecture section, look for the chinese guy swooshing ships and pew pew pewing my architectural stuff. Obviously they'd be the pink pony.
