    Canadian Eh?

Indeed - Fairview is a good example. That used to be sketch city. Though I think the most logical choice after Sherway and Fairview would be Eaton Center (which itself is undergoing a $100M+ renovation). And Rook - I totally remember DopeWars :D
  3. While I understand the need for sellers to get best value, as well as the international pricing aspect of current (or near current sets), I have to agree with the original poster’s displeasure at the BIN prices for older sets. I almost see it like stocks, if you put it as auction you get market value. Or you can put it as BIN, which is essentially putting up the ‘ask’ price. Unfortunately there isn’t really the same opposite facility on eBay to provide a 'bid' price – aka the buyer telling the world 'I Want to buy XYZ for this price' - which would be potentially a huge win for the buying community (the OBO option i believe is there on eBay but not used widely). What I really don’t like about the BIN, is not necessarily that they have outlandish prices (though that’s not good either) but that they’re locking up inventory that is not being moved – since they price their BIN so high, it’s guaranteed to stay there indefinitely – or for a long long time without anyone purchasing. Which does neither side any good. It seems now that most of the ‘professional’ eBayer’s that make a living doing this are using the BIN (thus guaranteeing their profit margin), where as the people liquidating their LEGO stock just want to get rid of it and use Auction. But this seems almost counter-intuitive as the professional eBayers are the ones that need to sell the most, it doesn't matter what your profit margin is if you don't sell! If they put it into auction they won’t get the same return, but they would get A return.

I thought the Sherway store was called "Sherway store" ? But "Scarbrough" or "North York" would work. unless the 3rd store is also in Scarbrough (say at Scarbrough Town). Anyone else find it poorly thought out to put the store next to the food court... where kids could be all messy from eating then touching the PAB bins?!?!? heh, I finally got my catalog...

So I guess we know where (one of?) the new stores will go: http://www.fairviewmall.ca/en/directory/Pages/ComingSoon.aspx "Stay tuned as we announce when LEGO will be opening on the lower level near the Food Garden!"
  7. me wantie!
  8. It is a good day to be a LEGO/Comic fan. Even if the sets suck (can't wait for Superman's car!), at least we'll have some awesome figs.
  9. After wracking my brain trying to figure out this post, I think davee123 has made a logical theory. Lego customer service is fantastic. and I applaud them for their efforts to make everyone happy - be it free stuff or general helpfulness. It's good to know that there are some companies out there that genuinely does seem to care about customers.

OH Bamboo! Just in time, I'm starting to run low
  12. I like this build a lot. You've captured the feeling of a dilapidated building extremely well. Lots of great details, like the storm drain, exposed brick, roof, the sagging gutters/lamp posts etc etc etc! -- Edit: Hehe I just looked at the rest of the story - fun stuff!
  13. I love the styling of the ship, unique and very well done.
  14. Great job everyone. It was a difficult mystery to solve, and I was rooting for you town -- And an apology to Professor Flitwick, on day two, the clue sent to him/her I did indeed left the wrong pronoun in: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=57579&view=findpost&p=1026304 No more games during work - it's too stressful/time consuming! Me thinks I'll wait for next vacation to play ;)

Sok, Sorry to hear you might not be able to make it There's always next year! Ogre, Yeah I saw some of your pictures on the show your army thread, but it's one thing to see pictures, it's another to see it in PERSON. haha 'reasonable' might have to be redefined. '20' battle packs seem perfectly reasonable compared to say, a Lexus IS full of battlepacks, followed by a minivan.
