  1. Welcome in the greatest guild @BardDandelion! I saw your builds on Flickr, I really enjoy the Warhammer themes. For Bastyan's story, it's almost the shorter version, of my sigfigs, Conrad's story. :D
  2. A mercenary's story: Part V If you missed, here is the previous parts: A mercenary's story: Part I A mercenary's story: Part II A mercenary's story: Part III A mercenary's story: Part IV Days passed since Conrad had blood on his hands. After that day, he becomes an official member, of the army. The leader employed him, as his squire. He kept his armor clean, and his weapons sharp. He allowed the boy, to sleep in his tent, so the others can't bother him. After the first month, he received his first payment. Conrad never saw that many coins. Actually, he never saw any... In return, later he taught him. First, reading and writing, after that, strategies, tactics, and the arts of war. The boy was happy, after many years, he found his place in the world. After a few months, he was allowed, to train with the other soldiers. Conrad was trained in every type of weapons. From swords to archery, he tried to master them all. He even was able, to learn some use of exotic weapons too. The others started to like the boy. His spirit was inspiring to others too, to everyone become better. Many days had passed, they become weeks, and weeks become months. The months become years, and finally, a decade has passed. The boy was not a boy anymore, but a young man. Trained in the arts of war. Conrad becomes the leaders most favorited soldier. Later he was tasked, to go on recruit missions. During that time, he earned his title: Conrad the Sly. He earned it, with the methods, he used, to persuade the new recruits, to join. Again, another few years have passed. Conrad becomes more experienced and becomes more valuable to the army. The leader even chose him, to become one of his generals. He ordered his own recruited soldiers in battles. In fact, his men were trained not to face the enemies face to face. He preferred a more subtle approach, to deal with his enemies. But every good has to end somehow. A soldiers life is always full of wars and conflicts. It was the time when Revolword rebelled, and he released the elemental monsters to conquer Historica. The mercenaries were hired too, by the lords of Historica to help defeat this threat. For them, it was easier to send former criminals to die, then their own men. A battle against the elemental monsters and their masters was the mercenaries last battle. During their last battle, the leader was killed, and many of the soldiers used this, to abandon the fight in the chaos. After the disaster, the remaining generals of the army wasn't able to choose a new leader among them, so they decided to disband the remnants of the army. Many of Conrad's recruits wanted to follow him. He planned to go home, show his parents what he has become after many years. And after that, he could start adventuring. The story will end here.
  3. Entry to rule Avalonia: His name is Ardo Ungar, he is a knight-errant, in the service of Avalonia. He would do anything, to serve his guild and its people. Even, if he must change his helm, to a crown.
  4. We are in the back garden of Lord Trian Burress, in Mesodraconem. His guests are special, cause one of them is the king, and the other is his successor. They already told the lord of his beautiful garden, their journey together to here. And about Artorius' choice. - Then this is official! - said Artorius. - Let's not waste more time, Trian, my old friend. could you fetch a sword for me, during that time, I will write the document about his enthronement. Trian shorty arrived with an ornamental sword. The document was ready, his name was also on the paper, as the witness. - Beautiful sword, you chose well Trian. - took the sword from Trian, and take a look at it. - Now Ardo Ungar, son of... - Belarn Ungar... - completed the sentence Ardo. Artorius smiled and started again: - Ardo Ungar, son of Belarn, willing to take the Oath? - I am willing. - answered Ardo, and kneeled down. -Will you solemnly promise and swear to govern the Peoples of Avalonia? From the Enchanted Forest to the Green Plains of Albion? - asked Artorius. - I solemnly promise so to do. - came the answer from Ardo. - Will you to your power cause Law and Justice, in Mercy, to be executed in all your judgments? - I will. - Then, as ruler of Avalonia, I Artorius Rex resign from the Dragon Throne, so you can take up the mantle of the kings, Ardo Ungar, son of Belarn Ungar. To end the ceremony, Artorius raised the ornamental sword, or at least he tried, but he was too weak for this last action. - Let me help you, "old friend" - stood next to him Trian, and helped Artorius raise the sword. Then, they touched Ardo's shoulder with it, together, while Artorius ended the ceremony: - Rise Sir Ardo! Rise and take the name: King Ardo of Avalonia, first with this name! - lowered the sword Artorius, and took a deep sigh. - Long live for the King! - shouted Trian Burress too. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A close up from the ceremony, and a little extra picture. Also, click here, if you missed the story, how they find Artorius Rex!
  5. The queen ran down the corridor, to catch up with N'ri. He was called away for something, but the queen's curiosity drives her crazy, and she must know why the royal advisor was needed elsewhere. Finally, she finds him, but the clatter of her shoes betray her, and N'ri turned back, only to saw Ylspeth's approach. - Your Grace. - bowed down the advisor. - How can I be in yo... - Are the rumors are true? - she interrupted him, but before she could continue, she took a deep breath. - Tell me N'ri! - It depends what rumors are you interested your Grace? - N'ri continued his walk to his destination. Ylspeth followed him, but she wasn't very happy about the answer. - Don't play riddles with me! Tell me, is it true? Did someone find Artorious? - I'm not sure about that. In the gatekeeper's report, they let in two men. One is Lord Trian Burress, and the other is a knight-errant from Avalonia. He doesn't resemble Artorius. Moments later, they have arrived at the small councilor's chamber, where the two knights waited for them, actually, they waited only for N'ri. The door opened, first N'ri, then Ylsphet entered. The knights quickly kneeled down. - Your Grace! - they simultaneously welcomed the queen. It felt they were practicing this for days. Ylsphet smiled, she bowed to the two knights and take her seat. The two men stood up and waited to be introduced by the royal advisor. Protocols... - Queen Ylsphet, High-Queen of Historica. - started the introduction. Then he turned to the knights: - Lord Trian Burress from Mesodraconem, and Sir Ardo Ungar, a knight from Avalonia. The knights bowed again, and now all of them took their seats. Awkward silence started in the chamber, but Ylsphet broke it: - Lord Burress, rumors came to my ear, that you met with Artorius Rex, is it true? - Yes, my Grace - answered the old knight - And I can suggest your next question, but I must tell your Grace the bad news. He died not long ago. The awkward silence continued its reign. Ylsphet bit her lips, after hearing the bad news. She wasn't able, but N'ri continued the asking: - But, did he named someone, as a successor to Avalonian throne? - asked N'ri and raised his eyebrow. Trian and Alto looked at each other. The old knight nodded, and he started: - It's a long story, I will try to make it short. It started a few days ago. I was at my home in Mesodraconem. Tending the back garden, after the civil war it's relaxing. But a servant came to me, cause some guests, they said, they are good friends of mine. At first, I don't recognize them, a young knight and an old hermit. The old man smiled and greeted me like we knew each other for years. His grip was strong for an old man, and the fires of youth burned in his eyes. It took me a while to recognize him. Artorius... Trian Burress saw the surprise on Ylsphet's and N'ri's faces. - Yes, I looked like that too. - I quickly ordered some refreshments and offered them seats in my garden. Then Artorius started his tale: He told us, about the failed expedition. They were scattered on the Mystic Isles. All of his men went missing or died. He didn't meet anyone on that island, where he woked up. Then, he told us about the strange isle, where the time doesn't work, as it works on the continent. He counted two weeks on the isle when he finally finished his makeshift boat and left it. But when he arrived on the shores, he not only discovered, that three years already passed since his disappearances. But also he started aging very strangely. The aura of the isle done this to him. He knew he didn't have much time, and must reach Mesodraconem before it's too late. But it was fate, who brought together Artorius and Alto, and with his help, Artorius reached me in time. I wanted to help him, advised him, to bring here the best sages and sorcerers to cure him, and also inform the council, the return of our king. But he declines it. He felt his end, but he won't leave Avaolia without a rightful ruler. And he already finds someone. - May I ask who? We must reach him out, to fulfill Artorius last wish! - asked Ylsphet in haste. - We don't have to. - answered Trian. - He already passed the reign. - He took a deep breath, stood up from the chair: - Let me introduce you, Sir Ardo Ungar! King of Avalonia, first of his name. - then, he put a document on the table, signed by Artorius. Also signed and witnessed by Trian. It's a common habit, to name a room in the castles, after a historic event. Events, like signing peace contracts or after a famous person. In this case, they can name this chamber, the Chamber of Awkward Silence. Cause this happened a lot in the past few minutes. Again, N'ri broke the silence: - But, how? And why him?. - I will continue the story of Artorius. - came the answer from Ardo, before Trian were able to continue it. - I spend much more time with him in his final days, then everyone. Both of us was shocked when he declared me as his successor. But he started telling us the facts, about his choice: "He said I was the only one, ho helped him. And also not for any fame, or payment. A good king must act selflessly" "He thanked me when I gave him my food, in turn, It wasn't much for both of us. A good king must serve his people." "He mentioned the help, what I gave to a farmer, whos cattle stuck in the swamp. A king doesn't be afraid to be dirty, to help others. " "And for the last, he must possess good diplomatic skills. He told us that encounter, when I was able to resolve a conflict, without bloodshed. " - I tried to tell him, I'm not a ruler type. I know only one thing, to serve Avalonia with all my capabilities. I even don't know how to lead. He replied: when he took the throne, he was the same as me, a young knight, with the same fears: how to lead, what is good and what is wrong. "Listen to your heart, it will guide you to the right path." He said, and for everything else, there will be advisors too, to help your rule. - And you accepted, to become the new ruler? - Asked Ylsphet. - I said: If this is the way to serve Avalonia, then let it be. Click here to see, how the story ends, in the official challenge entry! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A little freebuild/ prelude for the Avalonian Mini-challenge. Before the entry for the challenge, I wanted to show, what events lead to this. Enjoy.
  6. Hm... And if someone doesn't participate in the mini-challenge, that means his/her versus pair is automatically won that round?
  7. Wow! I never taught, my name will appear in the same reply with the winners. :O This is a huge step for me! :D Maybe next time I will be among the winners. Congrats for the winners, there were many great builds!
  8. Yes, I saw the huge gap too, the sad part, I wasn't able, to come up with a solution to hide it. Now I know, if I built that roof part, from the other roof, I could be able, to hide the gap, but I built it separately, and just put on top of the building. But anyway, thanks to the criticism, I will learn from my mistakes, and I will be able to improve my builds.
  9. If I have a bigger story, to support my candidate chances, to become the most important men in Avalonia. How should I show it? Like, in the entry build, after 1 or 2 vignette, then show the official vignette, for the challenge? Or separetly in two entry, reffering to each other entry?
  10. Indeed. :D Black humor is like legs, not everyone has it, this is my motto. It seems we are an open book for Muakhan. You describe really good my little band, well done, and don't worry, I will continue the plotting story, but first, I want to finish the origin story, and yes. I have to put a puppet... I mean ruler, on the Dragon Throne. :D
  11. Nice! Shame about the restrictions. Maybe it's time, to put away my little mercenary group, and show my "Noble Knight side" :D a quick question: the restriction is for the entire entry, or, just for the new ruler candidate? (Like, a conversation between her/him and conrad, who has an axe from Brickwarriors) Anyway, I wish to join in the Mini-Challenge, with my candidate to help find the rightful ruler for Avalonia! An idea maybe: Lets help them, and write down, who, when joined. I joined during BOOK II. Some time, after Ravaage appeared. PS: The Throne is fabulous!
  12. Great idea making a concert! And also great idea, to show many sigfigs as possible in one build.
  13. Pretty nice play with the light. Really brings the mood.
  14. The most beautiful build in this category mate, well done!
  15. Great build, and the story is fascinating. I'm interested, how did Muakhah came up with the idea with my Wolfpack, ( which is correct, but in GoH i call them Wolf Brigade :D). My emissary not yet (or atleast not in my story line) met with the nobles and not yet agreed, to cripple the Desert King supporters. The tearing up scene is really good, i know, there is someting wrong with me :D and also like the janitor scene, black humor is my cup of tea too.
  16. Nice entry, a good exaple, for: you don't have to write a long story for the entry, if the entry can tell much more. Well done.
  17. Really nice build, I'm amazed, how good are the buildings surround the little harbour.
  18. I'm really in to steampunk theme, I really like it, GG.
  19. Thanks guys, I'm really trying to put some life in my builds, and also the little details. I will try to improve my punctuation skills, to help you guys in reading. :D And aslo, thanks to @Grover, for helping me out. You are the true hero!
  20. Corrected them both! Thanks the advice and the notification about writing down the citys name incorrect. Yes, I noticed it too late... I wanted to show the colors of Kaliphlin. On the desk it looked so good, when i took the pictures and uploaded them, I saw the big problem too... Shame, maybe next time! :D This can mean two things, I'm a damn good storywriter and I can hide the realy thing, behind words, :D Or, as too, not a native english speaker, I write to complicated, and too mystified. I think, it's more like the last cause, not everyone understands the ploting part. I have a grander plan, for my little band of merryman, and I notyet wanted, to tell it. But the "Cat.C ploting challenge" was a great indication to begin it. Here is a quick look back: Conrad tasked three of his man, in the Scarlet's Scarlet Brothel, Zan, the mercenary in the Bath-house in Barqa story came to Kaliphlin (Wolfs in the Sand (Part I.)), to do his part of the task. Later, he was informed what happened in the Royal Council, and use the new information as adventage. So he tracked down some of those, who don't agree with the Queens new politcs, and this is how he finds this four nobles, and tired to win them, and their support with the "we can help you defeat the Desert King". In short: Yes, I'm ploting againts the Desert King too :D My little mercenaries now inviting those, who wish to end the Desert King's rule, without help from the Crown. And what is the real reason, You can find it out, in the next part: (Wolfs in the Sand (Part II.)) :DD
  21. My third and also the last entry for Challenge II. Plot and Counterplot.
  22. Barqa is a huge and beautiful city. Full of life, both day and night. Every one in the city can find a way, to entertain themselfs. Like the wealthier, they visit many of the bath-houses in the city, both locals and new comers alike. They come to relax, have conversations, met with important peoples, and so on. Like the four higher ranking gentlemen, they are here to talk to each other, but not about trading, or the daily life in the city. The topic is politics: "- We are in big trouble gentlemen." - the dark skinned man started the conversation. He looked like a retired soldier from old wars. "- If we don't came up with something, Kaliphlin is doomed." "- Not just Kaliphlin, all of Historica! "- corrected the old noble in the green turban. "- Our queen is inexperienced too rule, and she must listen, to her royal council." "- This is the problem! She listens! But not to they, who have lived in Historica for decades. But to a foreigner!" - grumbled the third man, and smashed his fist in the water. "- I agree with Achatius. That... N'ri causes more more trouble, than we could handle." - said the feline, and took another piece of grape, from the nearby plate. "- We got our own problems, and now what? He advised her, to make shows to the public... from our treasury!" "- And she also neglects the problem with the Desert King!" - Achatius smashed the water again, creating small waves, and splatering water out from the bath. "- Keep your temper young friend." - the old noble tried to calm him down. He was cautious. "- We don't want anyone, to know more about our little plot." "- Agreed..." - said again the feline, then spit the grape seed out, before reaching for another one. "- I would say, it's time to take action, and find a way to solve our problem with the Desert King. The queen and the others are distracted with the shows and charity..." "- Yes, but it must be subtle. We already had a civil war, we don't want to start another one." - the soldier leaned back, and stroked his beard. "- If we can hire some one..." "- Excuse me..." - came the voice from behind them. While they were arguing, how terrible the new reign was, they hadn't noticed, some one apprach them. A man, with reddish hair and beard, stood next to the bath. A towel was wrapped around him, and he had left some wet footprints behind him, as he came hastily from the nearby pool. He continued: "- Can I join in?" - asked him. The nobles looked to each other, and then back, to the uninvited guest. the feline answered him: "- Sorry good man, this is a private bath." - and made a hand gesture, to shoo him. "- I meant, in the conversation." - smiled the man. "- I told you to keep your temper..." - whispered the old noble to Achatius, while the four men looked to each other again. "- As my friend, Ja'hirr said, this is a private bath. Are you eavesdropping us?" - the noble raised his voice. "- No, it wasn't my intent, to eavesdrop your conversation, but your other friend made some spectacular show with the water..." - the old noble looked to Achatius with a, "I told you" look... "- I wanted to see it, from the first row!" With that said, he droped his towel, and squeezed in between Ja'hirr and the soldier. He smiled, as he looked to the nobles: "- And also your talking can be heard in the whole bath-house..." - the nobles quickly regretted, letting him in. "- But don't worry my lords, for I can give you a solution to your... problem." "- How?" - asked the soldier suspiciously, while looking to the other nobles. "- We do not yet know you, introduce your self first!" "- I was tasked, not to reveal my self too soon, but..." - he reached for his towel, and took a small insignia, It was a wolfs head on agreen field. "- Let this talk instead of me." "- Wolf Brigade!" - the dark skinned soldier quicky recognized it. "- Mercenaries from Avalonia... What is your business here wolf?" "- To aid you, in your little plot against some one." - he put away his insignia. "- Lets say, hes followers can be victims of a desert bandit, attack. Or some natual disaster, preying animals, and so on. The southern regions of Historica are unpredictable, but you already know this." - smiled the mercenary. The nobles were shocked. They looked to each other, they had questions and opinions, but no one dared to speak. Zan, the Black Arrow looked around in satisfaction. The next task, what was given by Conrad was complet. He reached for his towel once more, stood up and wrapped it around him. The next phase is about to begin... "- I must excuse you my lords, but I can't tell you more here. If you are interested in working with us, we must meet in a not so public place." - he stepped out from the bath. "- Meet with me in the The Tasty Cobra tavern tomorrow at night, and I will tell you more." - with that said, he bowed, and left. The nobles once more looked to each other. What they talked further more, they did in secret. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A long waited building is finally done! I always wanted to build a turkish bath styled bath-house. And also it was a perfect time, pick up again, and continue the little story, I started almost two years ago. And I wanted to share more pictures about the bath-house too. Enjoy: Hydrotherapy bubble bath. His expression tells us everything... Withouth the figs.
  23. Thanks, Go on mate, I gladly see others Ideas. :)
  24. The simply answer: I dont have brown round tiles :D and I didn't wanted to put round plates with studs. The really, I can say, "lorefriendly" answer: The barrels were opened long ago, by smashing the old lids. Then, they cleaned the barrels, filled them, and put newly crafted lids, and they are not yet darkened yet.
  25. Yeah, When the Challengecame out, the Hungarian Ninja Warrior was broadcasted, and I was inspired from that too a bit. First, I wanted call this "Assasins Warrior" but I thought, calling the race Knight's Quest sound better :D Anyway. Thanks the comments, it was a fun and challenging build, figuring ot, how to build the moving obstacles, and then hide them, under a medieval theme. :D About the story: I wanted to make it, like the cheesiest broadcasting, like in the TV. An attention-focused host, a female host, who dosn't belong there, just to attract more viewers, and a guest star. :D
