  1. Although I'm not a great fan of micros, your cathedral is very nice, and I think it's very fitting with the challenge you have just won! The accompanying text is quite short but still nice and very appropriate to the build. Just a tiny suggestion: in the brick seas "the Faith" is the dominant religion, with some other minority cults and foreign religions appearing now and then. The main religion is loosely based on Greek/Roman cults and mythology, while the others range from secret cults to native religions, from druidism to ancient Egyptian religion. We do this to keep some real-life troubles out of BoBS (e.g. a pirate burning down a temple will be blamed in-game, but won't disturb anyone with burning crosses or similar stuff)
  2. Welcome to the Brick Seas @Monocle! Nice minifigure and introductory story! Don't worry too much about ships, my main ship existed only as a part of my stories for at least a couple of ages About the language, consider that most of us are not native English speakers, and a lot of our posts contain little mistakes or calques from our own languages... just start building and writing, don't worry much about all the whole body of rules and, more importantly, have some fun!
  3. I think it works, Kylo Ren’s torso in particular, if combined with the right stuff, can be converted in an excellent officer jacket. Maybe you could consider also the firefighters (the classic ones or the ones from winter city), or also the highwayman torso (just to suggest a few variations, you don’t really have to build an army of blackcoats for your AMRCA)
  4. Well, both your building and writing style have significantly improved! I like your buildings, they are small but full of nice details. I honestly have to cheer on the central government since, well, what monster would invade a free and independent nation with clearly pretentious motivations (absolutely different situation from TV)! Only a little suggestion about the older parts... here in Italy (the general inspiration for your Namere, I think) we had plots, conspiracies, rolling heads and civil wars far before pizza was invented
  5. A referendum? Why should we bother the Terraversans with such a boring matter? The legitimate ruler will be decided on the battlefield, as good, old traditions teach us
  6. The House of Rimbaud: An ancient family of the Edranos province, part of the lesser nobility. The family swore loyalty to the Monarchy of Oleon even since the time of King Arltrees: during the Great War of Separation, the family received its first estates in the Edranos province, but lost some of its holdings in nowadays Varcoast. First as bannermen of the House of Tourment, then as officers in the Royal Army, the Rimbauds fought for Oleon in all the major wars of the Nation. Several members of the family met an heroic death on the battlefield, and several others received decorations and mentions in dispatches. However, the House of Rimbaud remained Count Tristan Rimbaud: Regiment General, Count of Astrapi, Medal of the two swords of class 1 for bravery on the battlefield Second son of Auguste Rimbaud, a lesser Renè Duchamp: Lieutenant Marcel Dubois: Doctor Marcel Laurent: Lieutenant Jean-Luc Norbert: Captain Charles De Maure Colonel Artaud: Commodore Adrien Duvalier: The man from the secret services: Klein Hans: Just a little placeholder for my secondary characters. Probably I should kill some of them to make a little order!
  7. Thanks! However, the build was a quick creation of @Bodi for one of our previous pamphlets (that you can find here: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/178436-a-pamphlet-from-nola-mar/). Consider the pamphlets of the Loyal Terraversan Citizen as a sort of anti-King's Port Advertiser printed by a filo-Oleander loyal and patriotic Terraversan, likely in Nola Mar. Basically, with the first battles of the Second Terraversan War (ugly name, absolutely unofficial) already fought, but with no clue about the outcome (OOC: the calculations to be done were massive, so the MRCA report is taking some time after the actual beginning of the operations) we are keeping things heated with something from the very first day of the invasion liberation of Terraversa or the days before (such as the KPA special issue, the trenches I depicted and, now, this call to arms).
  8. Terraversa, 17 August 620 To arms, citizens of Terraversa! It is time for our young nation to overthrow the tyrants who kept us in the darkness and in the misery. Using the glorious banner of freedom and independence, the two tyrants, Oldis and L'Olius, put the whole island under their boots! Don't you believe me? Look at the ports of your city, completely empty due to their senseless choices! Look at your goods rotting in the warehouses! Look at the streets, at the palaces, at the public buildings, never repaired nor renovated! Oldis and L'Olius, far from being our saviors, brought us into a fratricidal war against our old motherland. Did we earn something from that? We killed our brothers, and we saw our brothers being killed, only to fatten those two men and their friends, only to give them power! They promised us peace and brought us into war, again and again: they ordered us to kill the Mardierians so that they could take complete control of the island; each of them ready to send us against his rival, neighbor against neighbors, just because half of our land was not enough for each of those greedy men; now they are asking us to fight once again against our brothers, the Terraversans who refuse their evil rule... they are asking you to fight for them against the Oleander army, come to give an end to their crimes and their abuses. They are asking you to die so that they can keep their unruly thrones, built with blood and tears on the shoulder of Terraversan citizens. They promised us safety and our sailors are slaughtered by pirates. They promised us prosperity and then destroyed our commerce imposing unbearable port taxes, with terrible damage for us and for the economy of the whole World... and did we receive a single doubloon from that? Obviously not, since Oldis and L'Olius put them all in their coffers! Those men promised us freedom: while they feasted in their palaces, they sent our sons to die in the mud, to starve at the frontline, to drown in the cruel sea. Did we receive freedom? Those men only parted the power and the wealth of Terraversa, and each of them took half of it! We had had a tyrant, there in Londa? The war gave us two of them, one in King's Port and the other in Westface! Now I ask you, brothers and compatriots, should we make once again a shield with our bodies to protect those assassins? Or would you join us, the loyal sons of Terraversa, in the war against the tyrants? Our Oleander brothers have landed all over the island, and are ready to drag the only real enemies of our country out of their holes... there is no coming back! Tomorrow we will all be fellows on the deathbed, or brothers in a new, bright Terraversa! Take your gun, your pitchfork, or even some stones, and throw out the tyrants! Take the weapons one last time, against the men who caused all our sufferings, or you'll be asked to take them again and again... until the tyrants will destroy, spoil or sell everything on our wonderful island! A loyal Terraversan citizen Credit to @Bodi for the build; I already used it for the previous pamphlet from the Loyal Terraversan Citizen. Like the previous one, it is just a little piece of the propaganda war running side by side with the "real" war. Consider it a sort of call to arms for our "fifth column" and a reply to KPA call to arms.
  9. There is also a few little pieces of hideous propaganda absolutely true and unbiased analysis of Terraversan situation you might have missed (they are a little outside the main AMRCA storyline):
  10. Congratulations to the winning faction and to the individual winners! So much to (micro)build and so many great stories! And a great thank also to @Ayrlego for the excellent writing
  11. Nice MOD and excellent minifig collection and posing. I like how you changed the color scheme without denaturing the structure... you did in particular an excellent job with the doors.
  12. Wow, what a nice stable! The architectural details are (as always) great, as well as the accompanying story and the minifig posing. By the way, I hope the WTC won't begin any commercial activity on the island, or some of your thoroughbred horses will soon be stolen by unknown thugs!
  13. Thanks! However, I just realised that I lost a half of the post (the "trenches" part)
  14. Welcome in front of our cannons in the Free Faction of the Brick Seas! Your introductive story is great and your minifig choice is excellent, 2, 3, and 5 in particular... may I ask you which parts did you use? Also Sandokan's... ehm... Kane's flag is a very nice touch! --------------------------------------- About the rules: probably it would be easier with a German speaker, but I'll try to help you. First of all, you can choose if simply join by building and participating in the challenges, or you can join the Economic Game System, which implies filling some forms and having a balance in doubloons, the "currency" of the game. If you decide for the EGS, your first class 1 or 2 ship and your first small land property are free, but you can decide not to use the free license or to use it in the future (so you can publish your class 6 ship before your free class 2). My suggestion is to start building and only in a second time dig through all the rules, we lost too many players in the very first steps!
  15. "They shall not pass!" Outskirts of Nola Mar, Terraversa, August 620 After the long calm, after the time of plots and conspiracies, the day had finally arrived. In Nola Mar, weapons were taken from the secret hideouts and passed from hand to hand: in just a few hours, the militias gathered in the agreed locations and marched towards the main strategic points all around the settlement. All the main roads from Sillitholina to Pamu were blocked by barricades and improvised defenses, all the forced passages were occupied by small military units. Everybody knew that there was no coming back: if the plan had succeeded, the whole island would soon have been in their hands. Otherwise, they would have fought to the death... there was no mercy to expect from Oldis' servants or L'Olius' henchmen! The role of Nola Mar rebels during the first days of the war was quite simple, but all the same essential: they had to block any possible movement of enemy troops along the Coastal Road, the shortest connection between King's Port and Westface, or at least slow them down as much as possible. In practical terms, this meant blocking the reinforcements from Westface to King's Port and, if the landings would have been successful, cutting the retreat route from Pamu to Sillitholina and preventing the reorganization of Oldis' troops. Small contingents of Oleander soldiers, mainly light infantry, had joined the local irregulars in the most vulnerable zones: cracking the line of the chasseurs and of the Mousquetaires du Roi wouldn't have been an easy task! Far south, in the last stronghold before the territories controlled by L'Olius, tension rose minute after minute. While the older veterans chewed some tobacco or absently rubbed whetstones on the blade of their knives, the recruits walked nervously back and forth, continuously staring at the horizon. Here, the presence of the Oleander soldiers was a little stronger, with a few small cannons quickly dragged there with horses and oxen. More soldiers and cannons would soon have come from Nola Mar, provided that they could leave the city undefended. However, nobody really knew if they would have seen arrive the blue coats of Oleander soldiers or the dark blue uniforms of L'Olius' minions. In that case, they would have sold dearly their skin. "Horsemen! Horsemen from Sillitholina!" Everyone grabbed his musket and rushed to the parapet. The gunners lit the fuses and loaded the cannons. Nobody uttered a word. "Damn, they are still too far! I cannot see the uniforms. Hold fire until my orders!" The soldiers stood still, looking at the tiny cloud of dust growing bigger and bigger... Just a small prequel of the battle for Terraversa, while the fog of war still covers the island... Overall view-1: Overall view-2:
  16. Nice little battery! It seems a very original design and, with his cannons right at the floating line, it might be quite a menace for smaller ships... at least until the first storm!
  17. Yes, yes, I understood! And definitely the Faith, as well as having a common border, having colonies too near or, basically, anything else could be a good reason to start a war between any couple of factions!
  18. Wars during the Age of Sails (from early Renaissance to Napoleonic Era), nations started wars for more or less anything: the next one on the line of succession is a queen, is not exactly the best legitimate heir or simply you don’t like him/her? Somebody trades with your enemies (real or potential) or doesn’t trade with you? You want another king’s colonies, or you are distantly related with someone (so that you are a potential heir to his throne)? Somebody has a slightly different opinion about religion? Basically war was an option for any of these scenarios!
  19. This is all based on real facts, but some of them are very old and the links to pictures are no longer active. I remember, for example, a dubious management of justice and some Eslandolan sailors executed without trial by L’Olius (at the time working for Mardier)
  20. To arms! To arms! Let’s overthrow the tyrant!
  21. Expect A LOT of MOCs about this, but the text and the context require some shaping based on the result of the invasion!
  22. Thank you, guys! These are my very first steps in this AMRCA, and having some positive feedback is very important. Thank you! Feel free to use this for your faction page, I would consider it an honor.
  23. Wow, what a turn of events! I'm proud of my tiny, illegal settlement, and I hope to see it grow further. Anyways, congratulations to all the participants of cat E, most of the entries were simply great (even if I'm a little biased towards battles with close-ups of minifigs, something we have seen extensively here)
  24. Brilliant idea and nice execution! I’m not so sure about the wall as a background, but the openable cart is wonderful: Eslandolan smugglers really know their job!
  25. Wow! Everything of this build is superb, from the overall structure to the color scheme. Great job!
