Well seeing as I have just finished my Rouge One Scarif moc I would vote for the beach scene!

I think you are right. I'm going to mod this a bit and see if I can get that shadow more prominent. I totally agree but when this poster first came out the imagery utterly blew me away. It was so evocative and it was the first new starwars poster in over 16 years. Admittedly episode 1 was a bit of a let down to say the least but this poster in my eyes still remains an excellent piece of art work and one of my favourite posters from the Saga!

Hi guys, here is a little MOC I made of my favourite star wars poster, the Episode 1 teaser poster entitled 'Every Saga Has A Beginning' DSC_2328 by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr I loved the poster, thought it was so evocative and I wanted to try and recreate it in lego as a 3d Model. 2016-11-21_02-01-55 by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr The shadow was a bit tricky at first but I am pretty happy with how it turned out - if anyone has any other ideas on how to improve it I would love to know! Episode 1 - teaser by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr Anyway, there isnt much to this post as there is really only one angle this MOC works! Hope you enjoy and any feedback, comments and advice welcome. Thanks

Really, really nice. I absolutely love the ATAT footprints - really creative. The trench looks awesome too. My only suggestion would be to add some dark grey here and there to match the rocky outcrops of Hoth, just an idea? Incredible work though, I dont think I would be able to build something on that scale!

Lovely build. I really want to see an updated cloud car set. They are such a unique vehicle.

Thanks! Glad you like it! I just checked out your build, love it! I don't see why there isn't room for both franchises in a dark side mall!

Ah, that would have been a nice touch! Maybe if Jabba branches out to a franchise chain he can have a few drink droids!

Hey guys, I have just finished another build, which I would love to share with you all. I call this 'Jabba's PIzza Hutt' Jabba's Pizza Hutt by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr For a change this is not related to any scene or landscape from the Star Wars saga but rather a bit of fun I was having with my newly acquired Jabba figure. I had quite a bit of fun with this, like the Emperor's order being number 66... Jabba's Pizza Hutt by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr Jabba's tail being too big for his own restaurant! Jabba's Pizza Hutt by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr Han in Carbonite being used a fridge in the back with Slave Leia chained up and being made to work the tills and a stormtrooper in chef's overalls in the kitchen. Jabba's Pizza Hutt by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr My favourite part has to be Grandpa Darth treating his little grandson Kylo to a pizza, just look at how happy Kylo looks! Jabba's Pizza Hutt by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr Anyway, this was just a bit of fun, hope you like! Jabba's Pizza Hutt by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr Rouge one micro landscape and a recreation of an iconic teaser poster coming soon!

AT-AT MOC (plus-sized -- but not super big)
dimnico replied to Raskolnikov's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Very, very nice. I love the trans clear red you have used for the cockpit. The scale is impressive and the legs really look they have some weight to them too. -
Haha! No its not but I like your thinking! I just thought if Jabba was going to have anyones head stuffed on the wall then for me the only choice would be poor old Jar-Jar!

Thanks! I have updated this with more lights and changed the scene to show Kylo Ren watching the starkiller base fire. I will post the pics soon! Thank you so much! I love building at this scale 1) because its a fun challenge to see what you can achieve in a limited amount of space and 2) more importantly my flat isnt that big and my wife doesnt want huge mocs taking up all the space ;)

[MOC] Midi-scale Super Star Destroyer Executor
dimnico replied to Pellaeon's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The birds eye view really shows off the shaping. Great job -
Love it! The lighting really helps sets the mood of the scene. I love how you have built the crashed xwing into the swamp too. Great job!

Thanks mate, I think I agree with you!

Hi guys, here is a little MOC I put together. IMG_20161014_164521 by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr I had a few spare bits lying around and had recently acquired a Tauntaun so I thought I would put it to good use! DSC_1899 by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr DSC_1942 by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr I wanted to make this as movie accurate as possible so that is why the colour palette on this build is more grey, to reflect the night time setting of the scene, rather than the traditional tan colours of Jabba's Palace. I should point out the gungan head isnt movie accurate but I put that in for a bit of fun! IMG_20161014_192613 by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr However I did also build a tan version using parts from the Jabba's Palace and Mos Eisley official sets. IMG_20161009_221534 by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr Which do you prefer, tan or grey? Hope you enjoy and as always any feedback, advice or suggestions for new MOCs are always welcome!

This is great, I really like the shape and size. The trees look fantastic. I could really see this as an official set. What I especially like about all the rouge one Sarif builds is how refreshing it is to see a different style of location (beach) to what we usually expect with the Star Wars universe. I am building a micro Sarif scene at the moment (just waiting for a bricklink order)

Thanks guys! Strider117 - I missed a trick by not taking that screen shot as a photo!

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys! I went for this particular scene for a number of reasons really. First of all with all the Rouge One buzz flying about I thought it would be good to go back to where the Death Star started! Second it is such an iconic moment in the prequel trilogy and thirdly after looking at the scene I thought it would lend itself to a lego recreation quite nicely! I am currently building another iconic image from the prequels - stay tuned!

Hi there guys, I havent posted in a while but thats not because I haven't been building, I have just been away with work! I have a couple of builds to share with you starting with this... It is my recreation of the final scenes from Revenge of the Sith. As with all my MOCs I have kept this on a 16x16 base. Here it is in comparison to the actual scene from the film... Quite a fun build this, especially making the Death Star look like it is in the early stages of construction. And I loved the fact I could use the new style Vader and Tarkin (From A-Wing vs Tie Advanced set) as I think they are two really good looking mini figs. I took the figures off for these shots to show the detail on the panelling. Finally, It is impossible to resist a selfie! As always I hope you enjoy and any feedback would be greatly appreciated! More builds on the way!

Thanks! I think I agree, such an iconic image that it kinda works with boushh and Chewie but better with the original cast! I did do a version with Rey and BB8 that looked great though!

Thanks so much! They were really fun to put together and I might use the twin sunset for another famous shots from the star wars saga!

Hi guys, I have just finished another Star Wars MOC. This time I wanted to mess around with the idea of forced perspective and decided to recreate one of my favourite shots from Return of the Jedi. As with all my micro mocs I wanted to stick to the 16x16 base, which in this instance was quite a challenge but eventually I managed to find a way to fit everything I wanted into the scene. The colour palette choice for Jabba's Palace was partly based on the official lego sets of "Jabba's Palace' and 'Rancor Pit' especially the dark grey base for the Palace to sit atop but I decided to go with darker colours for the Palace itself similar to the actual scene from the film. Finally I have recently got hold of the Boushh mini fig (one of my favourites) and so wanted to incorporate her somehow. I then had the idea that Chewie and Liea would have walked the same route to get to Jabba's Palace and so changed the sky to a sunset scene to reflect the time of day they arrived at the Palace. Which do you prefer? C3P0 and R2 or Boushh and Chewie? Also I am thinking of doing some more scenes similar to this, incorporating micro builds and mini figs but wondered if people liked this style? Should I stick to the micro landscapes I have been building or do more scenes in this style?

I have been a starwars fan since I was about three, I am much, much older than that now! (lets just say I saw Return of the Jedi at the cinema!) I have been collecting Star Wars memorabilia since that time too. However I was quite slow getting into lego starwars. It was until 2010 that I got my first sets, Slave 1 (8097), Battle of Endor and the original MOs Eisley Cantina. My original intention was to keep them in the box but the child in me couldn't resist and so I built Slave 1 and Endor, I have still kept Mos Eisley in the unopened box however as this is a bit of a collectors piece. From there I bought a few more sets, micro fighters etc and then with the release of The Force Awakens I decided to buy the whole of wave 1. Also picking up the amazing death star set too as a christmas gift to myself, which my wife helped me build! It was until I purchased the Battle on Takodana set that I felt a bit disappointed and felt that Lego had missed a trick by only releasing a tiny portion of what in my eyes is one of the best locations from The Force Awakens. Thats when I decided to build my own version. I had so much fun creating my own builds that I have now put most of my energy into building my own MOCs. Nothing has been quite as large scale as my Maz Kanata Castle moc but I am really enjoying the process. My son is quickly getting to the age where he will be able to play with lego too and I imagine we are going to have some great times building together, thats the dream anyway!
