  1. Looking forward to this quest, DannyLongLegs!
  2. Haldor is stirred from his lathargic state by a loud cry. He stumbles blindly to his feet, finally noticing that he has been chosen for a quest. "Right you are, mate. I'll be on my way as soon as possible, wouldn't want things to get out of hand... before we get there." The nord empties the last of his umpteenth tankard into his beard, checks that everything is in order, grabs his axe and follows the man out of the door.
  3. That makes the length of this topic even more alarming. Honestly, 926 pages... it's got to be one of the biggest on Eurobricks. I confess that I've contributed a fair amount to that.
  4. That's why I wanted the mask. For non-rogue classes, which form the majority, we have to make the decision between upgrading equipment and consumables. I've always been more of an upgrade guy.
  5. I'm almost certain that Guts holds the record for the most earned in one attack. (Slime battle, Guffington)
  6. So Tarn is attempting to eclipse Guts as Heroica's largest money maker, fair enough.
  7. The fact that the Great Goblin is being used for this makes it twice as hilarious.
  8. I like the look of new Tarn, very barbaric. Although I don't see why a raider needs a gold-granting artifact in addition to their ability to churn out ridiculous amounts of cash.
  9. I'd say that the relative defence of the last used weapon would apply, as it is the one equipped.
  10. I'd actually disagree about the lack of development part; I found Dwalin, Balin and Bofur to be rather memorable. Don't forget that we've got two more films left to go, in which Bifur, Nori, Dori and Oín will hopefully get some more screen time. And in any case, the film is an improvement on the book, to my knowledge Dwalin only gets mentioned seperately twice in pretty much the whole thing. Would you have thought it better if they'd all been crushed and possibly died? Seriously though, what Flitwick says and what Peter Jackson has been reiterating endlessly is that The Hobbit is a different sort of story to LotR. Tolkein wrote it as a children's story, so everyone ought to shut up about how childish it is; seeing as that is the whole purpose it was written for. My other bug bear is this: stop comparing it to Lord of the Rings! They're in no way the same or on a level to be compared, and so it is blatantly illogical to do so. Yes, they have the same author and director, and they're set in the same world; but that doesn't mean they have to be measured up to each other's standards. A lot of critics would do well to remember that they're not actually part of the same book.
  11. Why would SP affect that?
  12. "Hmm... you sure? 54 gold plus some stuff you can sell isn't too bad. These weapons aren't too bad to keep either."
  13. A weapon, they were dropped by WBD's infamous rug back in Quest #28.
  14. "Well, I have 54 pieces of gold on me, plus a myriad of strange and wonderful things. Would you be interested in any of these?" Haldor takes his turn in emptying a load of junk onto the table. "I've got this old rod (WP:12, Water Elemental), some bear claw gloves (WP:8, SP:+2), a paper doll (Hexed immunity) and this emerald. I'm alright for any kind of combination you can think up."
  15. Sometimes people read quickly and ineffectively because they should really be moving their big behind to work instead of posting on forums in the morning! I am still determined to get my hands on that mask, however...
  16. Haldor, realising that the person writing his stage directions is an idiot, walked away in search of Tarn. "Tarn... isn't it? I heard that you're in possesion of a certain Noble Mask, which I also happen to have my eye on. Would you be willing to trade with me? I have little gold, but a few items you might be interested in."
  17. Wow, misread that one.
  18. Haldor was astounded at the imp's kindness. The mask was light an elegant, and fitted his face perfectly. "You, you would give this to me? That's so genorous, I will not forget this." The nord nodded his head in thanks and headed over to take a glance at the questboard. There was a new entry there, something about missing animals. Haldor needed something easy to relax himself, and this new quest seemed just fine. He scrawled his name roughly on the sheet for Quest #67: Nova Tertia and walked off.
  19. Haldor felt slightly saddened that that was all she had to say, but decided to speak again in answer to her question. "Have to make sure that I pick out anything of value before the lot goes to the furnace. It'd be a shame to see some nice kit such as this go to waste." "As for how our quest went; well we stopped her, and that's something at least. Hans, Triad and Bal, they were good people who didn't make it through the fires, but we honour their sacrifice and treasure their memory. You should have been there, Tesni, times were that we all needed a rock to lean on. With all that talk of chaos and order, a straight-talking girl like you wouldn't have gone amiss. It's important to keep, however, that we did actually banish one of the craziest witches ever to set foot in this city into the back of beyond; that's not to be sniffed at." The nord waited a while before continuing. "What about you, eh? How went your trip to the far east? Were there really over a hundred of the bastards?"
  20. Shame that music isn't made this good any more.
  21. Haldor watched the returning heroes planting their vast amounts of loot on the table, and decided to go and have a look. "Ah, this is a mighty fine collection you got here. Mind if I take a look?" Without waiting for a reply, the nord began rifling through the loot until he came across something he liked. After a little while, Haldor held up a grating stone and the shiny Noble Mask. "Mind if I take these off your hands? I don't have much gold, but I am willing to trade some of my things." The shaman plonked himself down on a nearby armchair and waited for the crew to make their offers. As he was doing so, however, Haldor noticed that his good friend Tesni was amongst them; and so strolled back over to meet her. "Ha ha, Tesni, it's been too long! How has life been to you, me old comrade?" Not really knowing what to do, Haldor claps his collegue heartily on the back,
  22. Wow, it looks like Althior got argued into submission...
  23. It's such a shame really. The quest was so utterly brilliant that I've been following it since the start, it saddens me to see it end the wrong way. I guess the reason why I like it so much is because the room combat system is essentially the Fields but with roleplay, putting back the main thing I see missing with them.
  24. Easiest level of experiance he ever got... if you know what I mean.
  25. The one with all the noobs, newts and nudity!
