Haldor looked across the burning skyline and unhitched his weapons. "I'm ready to go in. Let's get this over with. Gods speed you."

I think a perfect example of the place of diplomacy in a quest is the scene in Quest #89 outside whatever city we're in now. We needed to get into the city no matter what, and despite the huge conversation we had and the use of both promiscuity and intimidation there was no result whatsoever. The plot would not have been changed had we been allowed to save our gold through use of diplomacy, but unfortunately I did not feel that our efforts had any impact on the two minor characters.

"I hope I get to see you again, but without so much wars and other crap going on in the background. If you ever find yourself needing any maidens saved or bastards killed in the future, it's not like I'll have anything else to do." The nord rose and checked to see that all of his equipment was in order; his hand running loosely over the hilt of one of his sceptres. "When do we go?"

"We - that's my party, came here to do a job. We're here to unite the clans, and quite frankly I don't give a damn about this boulder-head or whatever king. I'm with Bastala, and now that you've kindly brought Grishnod here to the keep you're in no position to take him away if your offer is refused. You've backed yourselves into a corner, heroes."

General thought: perhaps the rogue mugging rule could be amended to include valuable object drops such as gold bars or chalices?

"Do what you like, I ain't gonna be advocating for his release. You got to work with the tools you have - Valentino's pretty bloody good insurance to keep the kingdoms away from where we stand, in the absence of any word from them."

Haldor stepped forwards and waved his arms. "Wait, what's going on here? Who's Valentino?"

"I speak because I don't like what you say. Shafting us all because two, that's right, two of us didn't get you back up isn't justified however you flam it about. You were asking us all to beg - even the one that spotted the right target and spent half of the fight bleeding 'cause of it."

Haldor heals the wounded. "This is a two way street, Guts. Next time you can drink one of your potions." "Any chance we can meet her? We've got a lot of stuff to discuss."

Who was cheating Guts out of experience?

Haldor did not have a phoenix essence, nor where the downed heroes in any position to revive Guts. This action comes across as somewhat petulant.

I'm CERTAIN that there is a rule which states that the party leader is supposed to decide a hero's action if they do not post, the hero does not automatically do nothing.
