Some MOCs have character and others look like there is a story in it just waiting to explode. Your MOC is like having to put a book down just when it's getting good! Thrilling! Nice setup!

Wow. Gorgeous! Looking at them inspires me to do some bank vault MOCs! -

What happens when the world runs out of petroleum?
Pingles replied to brickmack's topic in General LEGO Discussion
We'll just have to make more dinosaurs to become oil. Problem solved! -
Quite a while ago, it would seem. $300+ on Amazon.

I've ordered it. Always been a big fan of Tangrams and am looking forward to playing it. Hopefully they will start pooling user submissions and be expanding it past the 200 or so puzzles they are shipping with. Will report back once I get it.

LEGO Life of George Build. Compete. Awesome! Official Site Interesting. A puzzle game, by Lego, using bricks and an iOS app in a Tangram-type game http://www.engadget.com/2011/09/29/life-of-george-melds-legos-with-ios-for-digital-to-physical-ga/

While these systems have been around for a while the reason Intel was showing it off is because their mainstream processors are now powerful enough to do what took a server in the past (the systems currently in Lego stores run off of servers). The ones they showed off in this video were running off a mini-ATX motherboard. Mind blowing. What I HOPE this means is that soon we can download that software and run it on our home PCs. Well, I can WISH... Can't I?

Intel recently shrunk the box needed for the Lego Augmented Reality from a server to a standard PC CPU. They showed it off at the Intel Developer Conference and it looks like the guys at Engadget had a lot of fun with it. http://www.engadget.com/2011/09/18/legos-augmented-reality-at-idf-eyes-on-video/ Be nice if Lego would let us run this at home!

If you inspect the broken links and look at the image names Google may help you find them. A lot of them have been taken down but, like everything else on the internet, every one taken down seems to be replaced by five more. I am very happy with these designs and look forward to buying them for my daughter. She is two years old and loves playing with "Daddy's Legos" but always puts an adorably cute spin on her adventures. It will be nice to give her some themes that better fit the reality that plays in her head.

I am very much a believer in good customer service but if I was a Lego Store employee and someone called and asked me to list all of the parts they have I cannot think of any reply that would not contain expletives.

Will be happily picking this up for my daughter and I to open every day. Very excited about it and am pleased by the selection. More adventures on the way! Will likely pick up the Star Wars one as well and reward her for each nap she takes in the afternoon with those.

Loved it. What a great tradition! Would have loved something like that at my wedding! Every wedding could use more Octopus attacks!

I've found that even after Lego stops selling it Amazon usually carries it for a bit longer at retail price. Purchased Winter Village Toy shop from Amazon recently. Just don't look for Cafe Corner at Amazon. Spoiler: $1090.00

Anyone any good at designing machines?
Pingles replied to RubeusHagrid's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Might be better to have a standard price for all the purchases. In other words every bag in the machine is $2.00 but the bags have a different qty of pieces, depending on part size, etc. EDIT: Sorry, just read the further description and I am way off. Disregard my suggestion. :) -
Just thought I would add that ToysRUs is giving $40 off $150 Lego purchase from Sep. 4 to 10th. Think this is the time for me to pick up the Red Cargo Train.

REVIEW: 9349 Fairytale and Historic Minifigure Set
Pingles replied to Pandora's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Interesting reactions to this set. I bought this without reading the review and am very happy with it. I suppose I am the target audience for this set. I bought it to help with some play sessions with my young daughter. This set was a great way for me to get many types of figures without buying hundreds of dollars of sets. And we even got a treasure chest! It will replace the one I built with random bricks and a hinge. It truly is a valuable addition for playing. -
ToysRUs is doing $25 off $100 Lego purchase or $10 off a $50.

Any chance I get I applaud the creative side of Lego to friends and family. Not just for selfish reasons but because I have seen the way my three-year-old daughter latch onto the building/pretending side of the toy. Every day she asks if I want to play with "Daddy's Lego". And every day I do.

Kinda breaks my heart that those books are a thing of the past.

Just to clarify: I am pretty sure that the term "addiction" is the point at which something has a negative effect on your life. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/addiction In other words being addicted to something is always bad. Being bad is what defines it as an "addiction."
-
If you remove the "addiction" side of it I can imagine very few healthier hobbies than Lego. Perhaps ones that involve physical activity but I am pretty sure those end up being categorized as sport rather than hobby.

I am lucky. I have a three year old daughter. She has no interest in a giant tub filled with Duplo but loves "Daddy's" Lego. As a 46 year old man I am able to play, guilt-free, just about any time I want. The bus picks up passengers from the train station and takes them to the Snow Village Toy Store. The people have snowball fights. We collect "gems" (colored clear single pieces) for a treasure chest that is regularly stolen by Pirates. The firemen are called to put out fires on every structure spread across my office floor. Many, many adventures are created. I play just about every day.
