  1. The side view is absolutely splendid! I would think you should use Lox's Huracan solution for the headlights, as it seems to be the most faithful one to the real car. To be fair, the front is not up to the standard of the rest on the build, mainly the headlights and the front intakes. I believe you can do even better. Overall, even with the mentioned critiques, it is a cool car and good representation in lego 👍
  2. I'm an engineer, but I have learned about structural integrity, suspension designs, gearboxes, helicopter mechanics, strength principles. Also, since building with lego I've learned about photography, videography, production, emails, digital work, editing. Overall it was a massively positive experience!
  3. I think for what you are describing, you would need a Large motor. It has enough torque for most applications. Also, you can program the PU hub to make the motor run at a slow constant speed.
  4. Noticed that all of the pins and axels since 2020 got much softer. I keep them separate from my good old pins.
  5. I also found that the lego servo motors are unreliable, so I bought some copies from aliexpress and they seem to be rock solid. And for the price you don't really care that much if they break.
  6. This is super cool, nice ride!
  7. Very nice model! Great functionality also!
  8. Very cool project! I like how rugged it looks.
  9. Looks like a very professional build. Keep it up!
  10. Hi! I am happy to present you my newest build and my first B model of a set, the Ferrari Roma: It is built entirely with the parts from the Daytona set, which was a nice challenge I must say. The features are as following: 8 speed sequential gearbox, suspension all around, opening hood, doors and trunk, working steering wheel, V8 engine. I have made some comparison photos with a Daytona that I borrowed from one of my friends, so here they are: Also the youtube video: I really like how they are so different, while being the same brand. Of course, because of the parts limitation I couldn't achieve the exact looks of the original car but I reckon I did a great representation of it. This model has been superb learning experience for me, being limited makes you think outside the box and to come up with interesting solutions. If anyone is interested in building this car, it is available on rebrickable: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-123054/Alex Ilea/ferrari-roma-42143-b-model/#details Thank you! Alex
  11. The dbg side vents are just to offer some contrast as there is allready to much black with the spoilers and roof. The height adjustment is such a cool function, but it complicated the car a lot, therefore increasing the part count quite a bit. Thank you for the feedback and compliments!
  12. Thank you! Not sure which you are referring to? It does kinda look like a modern Supra, though it was not an inspiration for the model. I was obsessed about getting a HoG in, all manual cars must have it imo, tho the steering works better by using the steeringwheel. I find it hard to find a balance between conectors and panels. I was limited on the orange parts for this one, maybe that is why it turned this way :)
  13. Loving the feedback Bruno! Thank you! I really enjoy the design part of the cars, but I still can get a lot bettet. I need to build more futuristic cars. First of all thank you for the comments and the interest in the wip topic. The differences are a new rear bumper and the wing. The main reason for delay was my laziness to be onest. **Making even more excuses: I also built the BMW M8 competition in the gap and I am more than half way done with a 1:8 car.
  14. Hello everyone! The long overdue project that I started here is finally up and running! The car is my own concept called "Apricus V8" that I started with a sketch back in 2021. It has design elements inspired by cars such as the Mercedes McLaren SLR, Dodge Viper and Aston Martin mixed with my own touch. The model has been a true challenge to build because of all the complex features I recreated. I also wanted a bold color for this one to complement the looks, as I knew the bodywork will be very aggressive in the end. The features of the car include:-HoG steering with working steering wheel-double wishbone suspension all around with front caster angle-adjustable suspension height-opening doors, hood, trunk-4 speed sequential gearbox with paddles in the interior (the gearbox is mounted vertically behind the seats)-working mini V8 engine-manually adjustable rear wing I am most proud of the styling, I truly think it is the perfect mixture between flowing lines and aggressive vents and spoilers. That being said, here it is without the huge rear wing: Building instructions available here: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-116873/Alex Ilea/apricus-v8/#details You can view more pictures of the car: https://bricksafe.com/pages/ILEAALEX/apricus-final And some work in progress over here:https://bricksafe.com/pages/ILEAALEX/apricus-v8 Thank you for the read and I hope you will enjoy this car as much as I do! Video coming soon!
  15. Very faithful replica of the real car! I especially like the rear angle, it looks so mean. We are in the same boat, we both like building in 1:10 more than 1:8. I would say it is much more fun of a scale to build in. Congratulations on the model, a great engineered gearbox and a superb display piece!
  16. This is gonna be a crazy good model! It kinda motivates me to work on my own stuff as I am building a 1:8 car right now.
  17. Looking good so far. I would suggest you double the tickness of the floor or at least add some support beams very colse to the seats. It might help with the stiffness.
  18. Amaizing work Lachlan! Loving the rugged looks in this one. Those wheels are so
  19. Check out these new MENTAL photos that Frédéric Landragin posted of his BMW M8 Competition!! Crazy quality and amazing framing skills by him, can't wait to see more from him! Even more photos of the car here:https://bricksafe.com/pages/ILEAALEX/bmw-m8-competition If you wish to build this MOC yourself follow this link: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-103353/Alex Ilea/bmw-m8-competition/#details
  20. This looks really interesting, I can see some great potential here. Now try to get a full working module.
  21. Looking promising, waiting for those promised photos
