Sorry to interrupt the ordering discussion. But after 12 hours of building, my Falcon is finished and it is a damn beauty! I can't get over it, it's just magnificent! -
[PRESS RELEASE] 75192 - UCS Millennium Falcon 2017
Whovastron replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Managed to pick one up at Brighton, people had been queuing since 1am. The set was sold out before the store opened and one guy got very angry at missing it and was practically abusing the employees. i must commend lego, their service was amazing. They gave us tickets so no one could push in before us, we all got a goodie bag with both Force Friday polybags, some stickers and leaflets, and they even gave bags to people who missed out PLUS a letter to get priority over new stock, not sure how that works though. so now I'm heading home with both The Falcon and Slave 1 to build, what a crazy day! -
I agree with this. I own about 6 sets over £150, only 3 over £200, and have never ventured into Star Wars UCS before, and am a student, but even I've scraped together the money for this tomorrow because it is, as people have said, a collectors item. however I can also see how it's expensive. This isn't amskmthing that should be argued about guys, it's really personal opinion based on many different things, for me it's expensive but worth it, for others inexpensive, for others too expensive. lets just all chill out and wait until we can start talking about the set when people have it in hand, hopefully including myself!

The population of London doesn't really have to mean anything though, that's still a lot of people queuing for a midnight release of a Lego set...
-
If it's the image that was passed around, that was fake

My local today, after saying they will only have 16, also said no chance of reservations.
-
Just called my local store and they confirmed the 16 sets per store rumour
-
Those are Winter 2018 sets

I'm curious about whether people have had to queue much before a day 1 release outside of the Lego shop? There only time I've gotten to my local (Brighton UK) for opening for a set was the VIP release of the Helicarrier in 2015, and there was only 1 other person waiting. I'm kinda worried about not getting the MF after hearing about limited numbers. What should I expect for a Star Wars release?

"More to life than missing out on a few plastic blocks" i find posts like this really horrible. Would you say something like this is they were talking about buying a car? To a lot of us collecting Lego, among other things, is a big part of our lives and is not as simple as "a few plastic blocks". Just cause you don't see it the same way doesn't mean you can put others down. They're not moaning at you for not wanting the Falcon.

I'm really worried I'm not gonna be able to get one. I'm planning to be outside the doors at least half an hour early!

They will have stock to sell to VIPs does anyone have any info on stock for the Brighton store?

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

I'm over in the Uk, has there been any news from over here about it? -
Ah okay, would seem pretty crazy for stores not to have stock of possibly their biggest single set launch ever. I think these rumours are down to paranoia of people who are afraid they won't be able to get one

Hi, pretty soon I'll be taking the plunge and purchasing that little ol' Millennium Falcon people are on about. however I'm also thinking about picking up the UCS Slave 1 at the same time, as I think it will make a good companion piece. my question is, how well does the Slave 1 scale in people's opinions? I know Lego says that it's true minifig scale, but from what I've found online this may not be accurate. The UCS set seems to be based, scale wise, on when Boba is walking into it with Han. However this makes the ship somewhere between a 1/4 and a 1/3 of the size of the Falcon. However after looking through various other forums, official stats, other scale models, and even Attack Fo the Clones, the Slave 1 should only be about 12 metres shorter than the Falcon, making it just over 2/3rds of the size. so to anyone who owns both the UCS Slave 1 and original Falcon, do they look well together on the shelf and is it with me buying them both come September 14th? -
If you're referring to the Sep 14th release date then no the UK doesn't get it earlier, except perhaps in that the UK is ahead of the US, so the 14th will arrive a few hours earlier

I'm fairly certain it said on the the quiz sheet it's until the 5th, it's definitely not just a Force Friday thing. In my opinion UCS can be a subjective thing too. I wouldn't class the motorised AT-AT or the Republic dropship and Hoth sets as UCS, but Lego does. Also I would class the various £150+ sets in the Superheroes theme(s) as UCS, despite Lego not giving them the label

I think it's sheer size is still impressive, even if compared to other things such as that enterprise. Unlike the design of that ship though, the Falcon is one very solid shape, which makes its presence much greater. i do agree with the comparison to Ninjago city, I have recently bought that (using money saved for the Falcon!) and there two side by side on display will be interesting in my house. Star Wars fans will probably be drawn to the Falcon, but others will likely find the City more interesting

Having seen most of the sets on display yesterday in various Lego Stores (actually visited all 3 in London!) I must say this new wave is a very mixed bag. the scout walker is a nice design in-universe, but the set is very lacking to me, just looks a mess the bomber looks just plain and boring to me, I've never liked the grey/blue design of the resistance ships as it's not as striking as it should be, especially compared to the TIE Fighters. the Gorilla Walker is very nice, small for the price but the design it cool and I can't wait to see it in the movie the Star Destroyer is much bigger than I thought it would be, definitely worth £130, I kinda want it as I love Star Destroyers but I think I'll hold out to see if there indeed is a UCS Star Destroyer next year the Pod is so-so, another bland looking thing like the bomber. BB-8 is marvellous, a bargain for £85 and will look great on display, especially if you have the R2-D2 UCS set to go with it, does anyone know if they are in scale? but my favourite has to be Kylo Ren's TIE, the design is very menacing and looks like a cross between an Interceptor, a first order TIE and Krennic's shuttle. Definitely a buy for me, even my girlfriend, who isn't a fan of Star Wars, wants him. the construction figures are as good as they ever are, the guard has an interesting design though. as for the Falcon; amazing on display, it's bigger than pictures make it look, and it definitely a first day buy for me. I don't have anywhere to put it but that's not gonna stop me!

The Leicester Store has it on display, and Westfield Shepards Bush will have it on display from tomorrow Nobody seems to have mentioned this but in the U.K. There is an in-store competition to win a Falcon. You do a quiz and get a card that you peel to see if you won. Apparently 5 are being given away. but the best news here is that the consolation prize is the May the 4th R2-D2 polybag! Free and without having to spend any money
