Because the figures are very bad. Fair enough on the quantum suits. But ant man, black widow and Hawkeye all reuse other people’s heads. They’re saving money by reusing the quantum suits, so would it kill them to put some money into some good face prints?

It’s insane that the minifigs used to be great. They just took a HUUUGGGEEE dive in 2017. The 2019 Spider-Man wave was a glimmer of hope as some were good, but endgame...endgame endgame endgame. From what we know: new cap helmet piece cap head print chitauri head and torso print quantum suit torso and leg print iron man torso and leg print iron man Mk 1,5,41 torso and leg prints thanos print recoloured rocket shoulders hulk print thats all that’s new (as far as we know. 1 new mould and 2 new face prints. 2! Everything else is reused. It sucks so much. These sets are for the figs! Superheroes is what brought me out of my dark ages, it’s what my collection mostly consists of, but the figs have been so disappointing, themes like Harry Potter, DC, Jurassic world, speed champions and Star Wars are much more worth the money; great Minifigures and builds, not one or the other

I was willing to give the endgame minifigs the benefit of the doubt but god are those dogs awful. No new face prints, using innacurate parts when accurate ones exist. No leg prints for the chitauri. Truly awful. And why are Rockets guns always so awful? Why can’t they use the Overwatch gun moulds or something? the build is fantastic, but those Minifigures are just the worst in any mcu Set imo.

There had just been an entire series of promotion when the set was released. As I said, all DW merch is released after the series, and sells fine. The action figures, back when they were a thing, release about a month after the series ended. So releasing a product whilst the series still had an episode to go is promotion enough. So it was very unlikely to be the reason for poor sales

It is unlikely that it wouldn’t. The technic pun holes are all over the great hall set. I imagine it will connect best to the ones at the back of the great all, as that is a rough approximation of where the clocktower is. Will make a large, kinda curved play area when viewed from the back, which would be very nice. They could then do the same on the other side of the Willow sets build with future castles

That’s true, but if so, why not just say that explanation now to avoid all this? therandomblocker is acting like MAB is saying he’s lying about the sets, he’s actually saying he lied about how he has the information, which is evident from the quote shown. Which, if he is or not, it’s quite simple to say a quick explanation like you have yourself. So dodging the question and just saying ‘you’ll see I’m right’ kinda just fuels that suspicion. i mean, I was taking it all with huge grains of salt, but after this, eh, maybe it’s not true. But oh well, we’ll see what happens when the sets come out. Let’s just leave it all now, doesn’t make a difference really, the sets will come and we’ll see them and get them no matter what, and we’ll forget all about who was right and wrong and what leaks were true. I’m sure there were fake leakers last year, but by the time the sets came, who cared?

And I remember that MAB before didn’t cause trouble over leakers, I remember them having a disagreement with some members over something (including myself) but it wasn’t over leakers

It’s a shame hagrid isn’t in the clocktower, it would be nice to see him in dress robes. Also a shame the patil sisters aren’t there either, would be more students for the collection (just swap their bodies for the regular uniforms). hopefully the trio in hagrids Hut are their accurate outfits (like Hermione in pink hoodie). The Harry in this set should be the same as the dementor Attack Set if so. overall I’d say the minifig selection is mixed. There’s some great stuff there like Sirius. Fudge, Maxime and the champions. But I wish there was more. However it’s overall going to be a very strong wave. All very desirable sets, no duds. The patronymic Set has desirable figs and the stag. Hagrids Hut and the clocktower are must have extensions onto Hogwarts. and the horntail and knightbus are just great things it is a shame the clocktower isn’t incorporating any DADA stuff. Opertunity for another Lupin or Moody, or to put in the Snape from the bricktober set for those who missed out, or more students. i do hope we get a Hogwarts every year, next year could be the right side of the castle (the building in the UCS Set) with room of requirement. There’s also the owlery, that could be a small build (maybe it’s the tower mentioned in the clock tower set?). If we reach half blood prince, I assume we’ll see the astronomy tower.

Well, still taking with a pinch of salt, but I am delighted with this news. Fang in a set is awesome, a new buckbeak is great, there’s some wings in the elves sets which will work perfectly if they recolour them. brickbuilt horntail is music to my ears, I mean moulded stuff like dinos and Smaug look great, but I wanna be able to pose this and boy in dynamic positions without the feet sticking out. I hope the head mould has places for some claw pieces to replicate the spikes. so excited for an accurate hagrids Hut. Hagrids Hut is one of the very few sets I never got any version of, so it will be great to get a proper version of it. The original clock tower holds a high places in my heart for nostalgia, so getting a new one is fantastic, not sure how it will work with the current display though, as it’s meant to be behind the great hall etc. knight bus is a big yes, it’s a big shame there’s no animagus form for Sirius. I know you guys are saying there’s only 2 figures; but I think it’s very likely there will be a harry, could always have just been left out of the set, I can’t see lego trying to sell it without a very recognisable character in it, and his costume in that scene is quite iconic; it’s had 3 different Lego versions and was all across the promotional material for Prisoner of Azkaban back in the day

You’re actually not entirely correct. The set launched on Dec 2nd 2015, a week before series 9 ended. Series merchandise usually isn’t released until after the series is finished (the BBC have a rule that no action figures or merch can be released until they’ve appeared on screen, obviously the set was based on a 2013 episode so it wasn’t affected, but still worth noting). The 2015 Christmas special also aired a few weeks into this set’s lifespan. The Lego Dimensions packs were also released shortly before, so this set most certainly was not without promotion.

Yeah it was that report that I was referring to. Don’t forget that Harry Potter had a lot of hype because the theme was returning. The sets this year probably won’t sell as well as the initial wave. The bubble thing makes sense, but I’m not in an mcu bubble, I’m just as much of a fan of Harry Potter. my original comments was just stating that this constant failure to get in the top selling themes, with the new report revealing that it’s not just the themes with the most sets that can do well, may be why there has been a significant dip in marvel Minifigure quality.

I would argue your point about marvel and HP’s canvases. Considering the popularity of the MCU, it’s hard to see how HP is bigger. They’re as big as one another from what I can tell.

Also, has anyone ever really noticed how Superheroes are never on the top selling themes lists? I used to think that it was because it was one theme sit in two, when compared to the likes of Star Wars and ninjago that get a billion sets every year. But the 2018 lego group report reveals that Harry Potter and Jurassic World were among the usual best sellers. Considering infinity War and Black Panther came out last year, that’s surprising. No wonder Lego doesn’t put money into the sets if they don’t sell as well as those themes

It’s seems to be having a resurgence. The last series had the best viewing figures since the show came back in 2005

We know 100% that there will be 5 new sets this year. Lego even said themselves more sets were coming. The list of Minifigures and descriptions is rumours and speculation

Where did that list of Minifigures come from? And why is everyone believing it?
