You can't *eyes bulge* Say, my green friend, would you be so caring as to hold on to my fish here, it appears I am on fire." - 1 Point
  2. Just had a look though this, very nice by the way, and the first review I went to.. (Grand Emporium) has a picture of and link to the Firebrigade next to it? Everything else I saw seems to match up.

    Tower

I think the second is better except for the tree on top of the cliff. I prefer the first version.
  4. Thank you all for your comments, I really appreciate the time taken and drawings made to help me! I'll try and address each suggestion now. Thanks but which part do you think is too high? CGH has mentioned this as well. The front end I presume. Thanks, I think the colour scheme has worked out nicely. Definitely worth getting some ship parts if you can, it makes the building a lot easier! Welcome to the forum by the way. Thanks for your thoughtful comments. Pearl gold is definitely a tricky colour to use because of the limited number of pieces. Regarding the head rails, do you think that the positioning against the side of the ship is a bad height, or the position on the prow? I can't think of any way to connect them either with the current technique. I'll certainly try removing the plates you circled. With regards to the bow shape, I can't get that picture to load but it's a case of lowering the front end more? The stern , such a tricky bit to work on.. I will see what I can do. Hi, thanks for you comments. The anchor is just a sort of temporary solution at the moment and partly to remind me that I need to include one somewhere. I will take on board your point about closing up those holes. Hi Captain, thanks for the suggestions. I've already addressed a couple of points with my other answers, it seems the general consensus is that the (front?) walls are too high. I'll try lowering them and adding some more details there and on the stern. Thanks for looking in, I appreciated all your comments with the Puffin before. Thanks for the picture Aalak, I think that looks like a nice pattern so i'll certainly try implementing it with the bow redesign. I am at the moment planning on some proper string rigging. With the Puffin I always felt that it was going to be temporary so I didn't want to invest the time in full rigging. I had been thinking of those pieces as well, they should be easy to fit into the side! Thanks everyone, a lot to be getting on with now..
  5. I don't normally look in the technic forum at all and just thought i'd have a browse to see what sort of things people made. Watched your video and wow. Jaw droppingly good.
  6. Really nice details here and an excellent first adult MOC. The walls hewn into rock work well, and I like the water running down past the blacksmith.
  7. After building the Puffin (HERE) last year, I have been wanting to build something bigger and better. Inspired by all the great ships that have been appearing recently (main influences are Captain Green Hair, Perfectionist and Admiral Croissant), I ordered some hull midsections in old brown and got to work. I'll let the pictures show you the rest! Overview Prow, i'm not that happy with the figurehead at the moment View down the length of the ship. Ladder detail and possible exposed lower deck. Cannons don't seem to fit at the moment. Side window transition Stern gallery with gap for the name. I'm feeling quite pleased with what i've done so far and I wasn't going to post a WIP but i thought that if I wanted to take some comments on board (ha!) then it would be best to do so before I go much further. So please, any suggestions, criticism or general musings would be very welcome.
  8. I somehow missed seeing this a couple of months ago so i'm glad for the bump. Another masterpiece Kris, I particularly like the use of tricolour flowers.
  9. Hate to repeat but the posing is excellent and really makes the scene complete. Good choice of head for the rider too.
  10. Thanks for the comments guys, i'm pleased that the choice of heads was noticed. I've just finished sorting and categorising all my minifigure parts so it was nice to choose just the right heads for the scene. I'm also pleased lightningtiger thought of it as a Roman road, also what I had intended!
  11. Startrek and Mortal Kombat are both excellent, really recognisable.

    Batspeed

Nice little ship, great story though!
  13. The idea for this set up first came to me when I was sorting through my Crusader torsos and noticed that several of them had very faded printing. The idea is that on the right hand side a haggard group of soldiers is returning from a failed attack on the eastern world. Their uniforms are faded, their horses are dead and their weapons and armour are tarnished. In contrast, a new crusade embarks from the left with shiny weapons and armour and new uniforms. I never feel my photos quite do things justice but I hope you can get a reasonable impression of what I was trying to achieve. Overview Shot - Showing the road and signposts in the centre. Admiral

I'm putting this here since it's more interesting for the pirate forum than the customs. It's also not particularly customised. The decal is recoloured from the Pirate Torso Library. I put a figure together like this with a custom painted hat in my Admiralty MOC a few months back. Now that the PotC sets are out.. I had to get hold of this hat! Bonus picture of Midshipman, Lieutenant, Post-Captain and Admiral lined up.
  15. Great job again Penguin! My favourite this time would be the rock guitarist. Great combination of pieces, is that a custom head? Thanks very much for putting together the Zorro figure as well, it looks better than I had imagined! I wasn't sure how well the head and hat would line up but that torso looks like a good fit as well. Now to try and get hold of a Nightwing head
  16. Thanks, I look forward to seeing it and of course your new batman customs ;)

  17. This is coming along very nicely. Very good photos as well, I must say it makes a lot of difference when they are clear and against a white background.
  18. Dear Penguin, knowing that you have a large collection of Batman figures, I was wondering if I could ask you to take a photo of Nightwing's head with one of the new musketeer hats. I think the combination could make a good Zorro figure!

Thanks for you time. Don't worry if you can't oblige me.

Tried to PM but your inbox must be full.

  19. Great job! I always like seeing something which has been envisioned in LDD turned into a real tangible creation.
  20. Wow Kris, this is amazing! I was expecting ordinary Ninjago figures as chess pieces but these are brilliant. Really feels like an adult take on Ninjago and all the functionality of the board draws just completes it.
  21. Thanks for the ideas, I had looked at homebase and B&Q but not thought of Maplin.
  22. Hey guys, I have been trying to do some storage and sorting recently but i'm having trouble finding a decent set of plastic shelving. I have seen a lot of discussion by Americans about which hardware store sells what and so on. Not very helpful to us though! Something like this is the idea:
  23. Really excellent entry overall, I think the angled display cabinet is particularly effective.
  24. Ha, nice figure. Raiden was the first thing I thought of when I first saw the Sensai Wu hat.
  25. Brilliant creation! So many great details and the minifigure posing really brings it all to life.
