That is such an awesome pub! I want to go there now. There are some wonderful photos showcasing most of the details. I can only imagine how much more impressive this looked in person, especially when lit.

Very nice Sebeus. I really like the color scheme on her. [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp] I'll have to read the first two episodes once I find the time. They look good.

Just watched Meet Me in Saint Louis (1944) with my family. Is there anyone else here that has a soft spot for old musicals like these? I love some of the classic MGM ones especially.
-
I also got that vibe! It was a lovely short, although I do agree the animation was kinda weird..

I wasn't stating that specifically, more of that I felt that the film as a whole barely seemed like a Batman movie to me. I can't explain it word for word. It's just how I felt about it when I watched the film. Dark Knight will always be the quintessential Batman film for me.

My feelings on this film were mixed. The ending was satisfying, but I just couldn't help thinking to myself "What the heck did I just watch?" It just didn't feel like a Batman film to me. Multiple aspects of the film led me to believe that there was something lost in the transition from the previous film to this one. I think out of all the comments and opinions I've read, the comparison of Nolan's Batman trilogy to the original Star Wars films is good. The Dark Knight is The Empire Strikes Back, while The Dark Knight Rises is clearly, Return of The Jedi. This isn't to say I didn't enjoy the film. I did in many ways, and the ending almost had me teary eyed. I'm just sad we couldn't have a more Dark Knight/Batman Begins type film.

I love this scene. Probably one of my favorites in the contest. Nice work.

I love the way you made his belt. Great details on this guy. Nice work.

Woah! Love the vehicles. This is pretty neat. And those seals are fantastic!

Thanks everyone! I'm glad you enjoyed them. Don't worry about it. I'd love to see anyone try their hand at scenes from the ride, especially the ballroom! One day I'd like to attempt it, but I probably won't be anytime soon.

It seems I'm late by a day! Oh well. Happy (late) birthday! Hope it was good.

Nice work! I really like how you built Washington, and I especially love the head you used for Van Buren. Fits perfect!

Neat! I like these! The small house in the Red Riding Hood one is very impressive.

Minifigures Series 9 Guessing Game
Walter replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I'm chiming in with others on some of these guesses. Some are too good not to guess. I'm going with what I think is likely to be made, not with what I want to be made, although sometimes those are one and the same. 1) Sea Captain 2) Medusa (We all know she's going to get made eventually!) 3) Groom (Another expected one) 4) Baseball player with a mitt 5) Pinnochio/Wooden puppet boy 6) Guy in bear suit 7) Female Pirate 8) Canadian Mountie 9) Judge with wig 10) Another mariachi/Mexican musician 11) News TV reporter 12) Golfer 13) French man with loaf of bread 14) Wizard 15) Space outlaw/rouge 16) Imperial Navy admiral -
I'm going to go ahead and blog the rock structure. That ball-joint technique is pretty sweet. Nice work! [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]

Let me just start off by saying I wasn't too sure what theme these creations would fall under, so I figured that this area would be the best place to post my Haunted Mansion creations. I recently built three Haunted Mansion vignettes from the classic Disney attraction and I'd like to share them with you all. I tried my best for accuracy while still keeping it somewhat simple. Madame Leota by Walter Boy, on Flickr First up is Madame Leota. "Serpents and spiders, tail of a rat; call in the spirits, wherever they're at. Rap on a table; it's time to respond. Send us a message from somewhere beyond. Goblins and ghoulies from last Halloween: awaken the spirits with your tambourine. Creepies and crawlies, toads in a pond; let there be music, from regions beyond! Wizards and witches, wherever you dwell, give us a hint, by ringing a bell!" -Madame Leota The Caretaker by Walter Boy, on Flickr Second is the graveyard's caretaker and his dog. "The happy haunts have received your sympathetic vibrations and are beginning to materialize. They're assembling for a swinging wake, and they'll be expecting me. I'll see you all a little later." -Ghost Host Hitchhiking Ghosts by Walter Boy, on Flickr Third and final is everyone's favorite hitchhiking ghosts! "Ah, there you are, and just in time! There's a little matter I forgot to mention. Beware of hitchhiking ghosts! They have selected you to fill our quota, and they'll haunt you until you return! Now I will raise the safety bar, and a ghost will follow you home!" -Ghost Host I've been experimenting around with effects like Pepper's Ghost to see what I could come up with, especially for the last picture, but I've run into problems like double reflection. I may still have some other pictures to add in a couple of days. I hope you all enjoyed the vigs.

Post about Cartoons and Anime you like
Walter replied to Peppermint_M's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Sweet! I was hoping for some Season 3 stuff at Comic Con! And while on the subject of shows, there's some news about Legend of Korra! Read full article here. I'm very happy to hear this. -
I saw Amazing Spider-Man recently, and I can honestly say I think it was a good film. I enjoyed it pretty well, although I didn't think it was as enjoyable as it could've been. While this new trilogy will be entertaining to watch, I still really love the Raimi films. Spider-Man 2 had the best Peter Parker moments for me personally. Marc Webb himself said that he wanted it to be very mysterious, but most people think that:

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion
Walter replied to Piranha's topic in Special LEGO Themes
It's better then no fairy at all, but yeah it does clash. I think the Ice Skater from series 4 has a skirt piece that would fit pretty well with the figure. -

I'm slightly underwhelmed, but I still like most of the figures. And there's some new colored pieces and moulds also, so I'm glad about that. -
That's a lovely ship! I especially like the rigging.

I like the Santa minifigure from what I can see of it. Should be pretty nice. -
He better row fast or he'll be in trouble! This is a great little scene. The water technique is also very different and unique from what I usually see. [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]

[pid][/pid] 139A Small Sail Boat by Walter Boy, on Flickr A small sail boat that was used in my recent Lighthouse diorama. I think this type of boat would be considered a "cog" but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
