It looks like your ship will never be completed Bonaparte Still, I think those slopes are a great idea and I'm anxious to see more pictures of the result

Dutch VOC ship the Prins Willim, minifig scale!
Errorist replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
Nice job on the bow Captain Seems like you won't be needing 10+ versions to make it work The furniture is looking really nice as well. Impressive stuff. Keep it up -
This cross section of the uss constitution can give you guys an idea of how I plan to do the rigging and maintain the modular structure at the same time. Ofcourse the lines running inbetween the masts are another matter but I've got a great idea for those. Ah but I have a ton of great ideas for the rigging as well. I'm going to do it as realistic as humanly possible. I wonder how much balls of string and rope I'll need... we'll just start with 6 balls

Just type search by the username Errorist. It's pretty hard to find when you browse the site using the keywords you did because it's such an old model. Mind you the prototype you will see doesn't have any masts though Let's hope my rigging and lighting work out as planned Then it will truly be a convenient building method. Otherwise there will be a version three Btw I messed around a bit with the camboose. And here's the result: Flipping burgers for the crew will never be easier

Quite a good start you've got there Teddy. I'm eager to see more pictures Keep up this mighty good work Ah yes the pirates forum is getting spoiled with massive ships these days 4 of them so far Here's Phred's Constitution and my L'Étoile The era of huge ships is coming

What a lovely little ship you've created with such a small amount of pieces at your disposal It reminds me of the time I constructed a helicopter out of such a small amount of bricks Oh and btw you've got a great mom!!!
-
It can be ordered on the LDD site but that's just a prototype I went through the painstaking trouble of ordering all the parts on BL In the beginning I thought it would be cheaper this way but I was very very wrong. Not that I regret making this choice though. NOOOOO!!! Don't go altering your plans captain If you said what you were going to do before I started this next version I probably would've scrapped this version. Now it's too late (and secretly I'm not too unhappy about it )

Cutlass to foreshadow a return of the Pirate Theme?
Errorist replied to Siegfried's topic in LEGO Pirates
I don't know so I voted for dunno. It may foreshadow a return as do the 2 torsos in the other thread. I hope lego is indeed planning a new pirate line and not just getting rid of those old cutlasses -
The biggest chance says they are customs, but as everyone else I hope to god I'm wrong. Cheaper pirate related parts on Bricklink on!!!

Well I'm back again with a new update on my frigate. I've been doing some rebuilding on the bow. Here's the old stomped version: And here we have the new rounder version: I feel the new version blows the old one out of the water as does my brother. But I want more opinions on this matter :P A pic to show the modular structure in al its glory: One with the gun deck removed and my dog for size reference And finally a shot from the side showing the curve of the hull: I hope you guys enjoy these pictures and as always constructive criticism and or helpfull tips are more than welcome

If the lighting on my ship turns out this good then I will be one happy guy Great job Captain As for the legopiece, from which set does it originate and is it a rare piece?
-
Ah one of my favorite prefabhull frigates on the whole of BS. Very nice job indeed, although i have to concur with Phred and Mr. Tiber. The gunportspacing would be better with 3 or 4 studs apart instead of 2. But that's just a minor detail Keep up the good work Swab
-
I concur with Captain Greenhair. Magnificent and original piece of work Keep up the good work
-
I don't even know where to start so I'll just keep it short and powerful Everything about this moc is beautyful. One thing though. As an Indy fan I really think Indy should've won Keep up the good work

Dutch VOC ship the Prins Willim, minifig scale!
Errorist replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
Although I love the work you'ra doing I still feel obliged to concur with my brother As for the ship I already told you about a million times it's beautyful And I have to say that you're doing a mighty good job with the curve. I just hope everything keeps working out as good as it has been doing until now. Now, how about that bucket? *grins* -
Anyway the wind blows ofcourse. But since this depends on the imagination of who's playing with these flags, the position can be anything Even upside down for that matter

Well hello again, since I've been busy with exams and stuff like that I didn't get around to building alot the past weeks. However I did get something done and what's even better my own GOOD camera miraculously started working after 2 years So now I've got some "decent" pictures for you guys. Underneath the mast is where the winches for the capstan are hidden. So no more threats from cats Tell me what you guys think about it and as always suggestions are more than welcome More pictures can be found HERE Edit: I deleted two of the pics in this post because they were seriously outdated

Back again with a couple more pictures. I got alot of work done on the ship this time. This entire second part didn't exist yesterdaymorning Captain, maybe the pieces of string are more clearly on this picture As you guys can see I've started working on the simplest part of the interior. Just a bit of lazyness from my side. I'm hoping to get this part of the ship done before the supplies of some parts are drained though As usual more pics can be found here.

Since this new batch of pictures shows more new progress i wanted to put them in a new post. I've got the first 6 gunports done: I also started building my way up with the sides of the ship as you can probably see. The plates that are sticking out of either side are the places where the ratlines connect to the schip. In time i will replace these plates with technic bricks though. Also tell me what you guys think of the tumblehome effect. Does it look good? any suggestions? always welcome Oh and here's a better shot at my crew: They are 149 men strong and this crew will grow to 200 maybe even 220 but we'll see. I don't need the 300-350 men that the real ships of this type usually carried because I'm not building the entire ship. (yet)

That on the other hand I didn't think off yet great idea thanks Phred!!! That would be the best option. I redid the cabin layout and at the same time made sure the decks would come of easely. Here's what the result looks like: The white box next to the stairs is the place where the bottom part of the foremast would normally be. But now it will hide the capstanwinches and some of the mechanism More pictures can be found in my BSfolder Let me know what you guys think about the changes i made and suggestions are always welcome

Those are indeed of perfect size but it's a shame the door itself has a window. Otherwise these would have been great. I couldn't find one without a window so i'm geussing they don't exist? Answering both your questions at once These cabins are no sleeping quarters for the petty officers. Those will be located in the stern section. They will be used for storage of weapons/medical supplies/tools/etc etc... Things to keep the ship in a well working state. The largest one of these cbins will be the sickbay same as in the previous version. Oh, and the deck you are seeing is the middledeck. This ship will be built with part of the underwater structure. The guns will be placed on the deck above, which would be the main battery.
-
Well i got some work done on the exterior of the ship and finalised the last version of the second version of the bow I got some photo's but most of them are pretty bad because my camera is old and crappy But still: I'm going to build moc-doors for the cabins (normal lego ones are to plain/big). The big empty space in the middle is where the capstan mechanism will be hidden later on
-
Since i'm waiting for a new order of bricks i've been doing some designing with LDD. This is the ship's galley: This new order will contain the first blocks to build the galley and that enables me to hide my capstanmechanism. Double win!!! oh, and the pictures of the ship will be updated some time soon
-
Well... remember that i said my ship was sturdy enough. It turned out not to be My cats had decided to play a "let's pull the anchorcable" kinda game. Here's the result: This has happened quite some time ago. Maybe a month and a half or so. But with school and me being the lazy bum i am, i never got around posting it. Still, there is a positive side to all of this. I was unhappy with the first version but i did'nt want to tear it all back down again. So my cats took care of that problem for me. Haven't got new pictures yet. But pretty soon i will be able to start the building again. A few deliveries have made their way towards my place. And i got tuns of ideas for this next version. I'll update the pics soon enough Here's a preview of the first version of the next version

Not really :-P She grew that's true, but only to become a 38 gun frigate (main battery) + 14 guns on the spar deck ;-)
