Finished (the LDD part) *sweet* here's a pic as always comments and/or advice are welcome

indeed an impressive fortress *y* i would love to make a fortress myself sometime dut i don't even have enough bricks to start on a base construction :-P

i know she was big and sturdy *sweet* i wonder if she would have been stronger than Jylland (not looking at propulsion disadvantages though :-P ) man i loved that ship *wub* and yours too ofcourse :-$ and when this ship is finished you would like to build Hms Sophia? i've been looking round on the internet for models of the ship but my results we're quite poor actually *wacko*

42 studs damn she's even bigger than my big frigate. X-O she will be big mr phred where do you find the room to put a ship that big :-P

Yes i will X-D Thanks to improvements to the program i now have a detailed list of the parts needed *sweet* And now i can order it through bricklink instead of LF which solves my creditcardproblem :-P

Nice job with all these different types of flags. These are really helpfull. I especially like the last portugese one. *wub* And you also provided me with a nice royal french flag for my frigate *sweet* Thanks man :-)

cannons on the top deck will probably be of my own design although i will have to design a new smaller carriage maybe captain greenhairs will do the trick *wub* the carronades pose a bigger problem though as my original designs are way to big and need a total overhaul. I thought i saw a design using airplane engines around here somewhere :-P As for the men well i don't have that many minifigs so i will need to buy some new ones especially for the crew and the marines. Officers i can manage i need about 8 or 9 of those :-P The ship will be British or French don't know for certain yet :-$ And the sails will have to be homemade. Same goes for the rigging so captian greenhairs tutorial couldn't come at a better time for me :-P

Depends on wether or not i will actually buy this ship but if i do it will be carrying normal lego cannons and a few brick built ones and 4 carronades on the top deck. *sweet*

what a great tutorial captain *y* do you use other pieces than the technic ones to make the...takels? (don't know the english word) :-P maybe someday when i actually can buy more lego i will use it on a ship *sweet*

Which holes? the ones in the stern you mean? :-P nah they are the remains of the first version of the stern which was scrapped pretty quickly :-P As for the bow well i'm not happy with the figurehead but if i ever should buy this i'll see what i can find on BL. Just use your imagination when it comes down to decorations and so on ;-) as for the black beeing solid ... well the ships frame is integrated into the black so it should be sturdy :-P

Since my brother already asked me twice to put my newest LDD creation on eurobricks :-P Keep forgetting that myself :-$ Anyway here she is (when it's public) she's a twenty-eight gun frigate and when finished she will look like a Surprise size Acheron. *sweet* well here's the picture of how much i've already done ;-) The yellow brick idea around the bow was inspired by phred's constitution so thanks phred for the great idea *sweet*

It's a close match between the two but i think i like the new version better. It's a great improvement over the old one though *sweet* keep up the good work captain *y* oh will there be a new ship on the way too perhaps, maybe ? :-P

nice job *wub* just one question though :-$ since your cannons are sticking out should'nt the ropes hang loose? anyway i see your putting in alot of detail. Now i'm following your project even more :-P

well i always start at the waterline and build my way up. Unless offcourse if i were to build an entire ship then i would just start at the keel and work my way up. I always start at the bow because i think it is the hardest part of the ship to do. The stern is quite easy in my opinion :-P Offcourse LDD is something intirely different than actually building a real lego ship though :-P

So thats how you do it *sweet* That's a better technique for the rigging than the one i came up with. Would you use the same technique if you were to build manholes in your crow's nests though?

How do you do that? Do you take an estimate of how many pieces you are going to need every time you order your bricks or is it more on a hunch? The reason i'm asking is because this method could spread the cost of my minifig scale frigate over a long period of time making it much easier to handle offcourse :-P

i can't wait to sse the endresult on this one 8-
