Hello Teddy, I'm not really following exact plans. I'm basing her on my own knowledge for the most part. However, I am using a couple of ships as a guideline. My goal is to make a frigate that combines all of the qualities of ships that really existed. You could say I'm building a prototype model of sorts. Hairy Ruben? That is the plan. I'm waiting for some jumpers to arrive so I can easily redo that small section. I'm hoping she won't need another rebuild after that Yes it's true that I'm lucky enough to have some room for her but it's not a lot though (my mom is starting to have some doubts about the size of the project) All my bricks are indeed coming from BL as it is the only possible way. Quite expensive though Thanks for all the nice comments. I'll try to start building again as soon as possible. Greetings, Errorist

Really nice MOC you've got there SlyOwl. I can see many interesting techniques. The roofs are amazing as are all those little details that make your creations come to life time and time again. Keep up the good work Greetings, Errorist

Wow this one is even more beautiful than your first castle DNL You managed to portray the evolution really well. I concur with Teddy about the trees. Also, the use of different shades of brown really gives this MOC the finishing touch. I'm anxious to see the next version! Keep up the fantastic work Greetings, Errorist

As I had a day off from school today, I decided to do a little building. Sadly, this will be the last time I'll be able to do this much work on the ship for quite some time as the exams are coming I've completed the outer part of the hull for the most part. But as always I'm not completely happy with the rear part of the stern just yet. I made a similar mistake like the one I made before (not the same one though ) But I saw the clue when I was these taking pictures. I'm not going to redo that part today because I have been building for 6 hours and now I'm tired. Anyway, here are the newest pictures: The entire hull from above: Sorry about the light but the lights in our living room aren't easy to evade because there are so many of them. But turn one off and there isn't enough light to work without a flash. From below: The new stern: The bow: The curve (which I'm very pleased about because there are no dents ) And finally one that shows just how sturdy she is: Being able to pick her up with one hand was one of the main criteria for me when I started building. Mission accomplished I'd say. Those plates crossing the ship form my very own (and very primitive) measuring instrument. The rest of the pictures can be seen HERE. (when moderated) I hope you guys enjoy the pictures and , as always, C&C are more than welcome. Greetings, Errorist

Amazing work ISC! You've managed to capture the feel of a shipwreck perfectly. It has been said many times before but I'll say it again. The organ looks beautiful Oh, and Davy Jones looks great. Greetings, Errorist

I completely concur wit the Captain. Those half stud steps are beautiful. Keep it up Errorist

I was originally planning to put the older part on top of the hull but that plan proved to be impossible very quickly. I would have to build the hull so that they would connect perfectly and that was too much effort. Besides, I wasn't verry happy with the older part anymore. The new hull does have the same dimensions as the older part so I can probably use some of the decks again. Another one of my plans was trying to maintain the modular structure as well but that idea was just plain crazy. As for the deadline, don't worry about that. The version you see here was built in a single day. But that's because it's version 6 or 7 It's like CGH said to me, going ahead 1 step means going back 3 steps. Errorist

After a very long period of inactivity I present to you the third (and final version) of my ship. After my visit to Portsmouth last summer I decided that a waterline model wasn't good enough for me. So I completely abandoned the previous version and started construction on an entire ship. Progress has been extremely slow due to a shortage of time and so on and because of this the first real developments only started a couple of weeks ago. I have to thank CGH for his advice when I was trying to solve the puzzle with my first attempt. After that I was able to build a test version pretty quickly. So thanks buddy And now for some pictures: The bow It may look a bit strange as it is right now but it has to go up for 2 more bricks. It will look a lot better once that's done. And here we have the stern: I still need to make some adjustments to the curve because it's not completely satisfieing to me just yet. The holes you're seeing are the places where the hinges will be placed but I don't have all of the neccesary pieces to complete that part just yet. O money where are thou? I'm sorry that there are no shots of the entire hull but my camera doesn't seem to allow for large objects to be photographed from a relatively close distance (2 meters or 6 feet away). I will be adressing this problem very soon as I will be buying a new camera The rest of the pictures can be found HERE. (Only a few for the moment though) I hope you guys enjoy them and as always comments and criticism are more than welcome. Errorist

Hrothingas Castle - Castle Evolution - Stage 1
Errorist replied to DNL's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I can only say one thing. And that's amazing! All of those details I'm looking forward to seeing this beauty evolve into something which I'm sure will be equally stunning. Great work DNL, keep it up Errorist -
That's a cool MOC you've got there Mr Tools. I like the idea a lot and it looks like you've managed to add a lot of details. Do you have some more pictures of the ship somewhere else? Like on BS or some other site? Because I would really like to see some bigger pictures so I can enjoy this MOC to the fullest. Great work, keep it up Errorist

I really like this beauty HMS. One of my favorite details would have to be the crew's toilets and of course that beautiful stern. Are you using other models besides CGH's ship as a guideline? Anyway, I 'm really looking forward to seeing this ship fully rigged and under sail. Keep up the good work Errorist

Ah that's not exactly what I meant but that post was a mistake on my part. I was referring to the line which the guns will follow vs. the exterior lines of the ship. This model will show you what I mean much better than I can explain it though. You can see what I mean by looking at the lowest battery. But this hasn't been done on HMS Victory though. So it was my mistake As for my ship, I'm happy to report that she is still under construction. So construction hasn't stopped As for the updates well.... I'm currently developing something which is a bit of a surprise. Visiting Portsmouth last summer made me change my mind about a few things I wanted to do with my ship and of course I started implementing these rather big changes when I got back home. However progress is slow due to being short on time with school and all of that stuff. I should have some pictures in the "near" future but right now it's impossible for me to tell when they will be coming Errorist

Dutch VOC ship the Prins Willim, minifig scale!
Errorist replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
Well Captain version 3 is looking much better from my point of view. The lines are a lot smoother now Keep up the good work buddy. Errorist -
Teddy the work you're doing is phenomenal. It's not hard to believe it already took you three years. Just make sure she's ready before Legoworld 2010 so we can own the place The test version is looking good so far but I'm wondering how you're planning to incorporate the gunports. I'm sure you'll come up with something though Keep up the good work Teddy. Errorist

Amazing work you did there Teddy. The deck looks really cool and I can see you're following the plans of the ship very meticulously. I recognize many of the cabins from my own visit. It's always great to see this much historical accuracy in someones project Keep up the good work Errorist

Dutch VOC ship the Prins Willim, minifig scale!
Errorist replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
Mighty fine work you did there Captain! But of course I already saw that with my own eyes I do have one little thing I'd like to note about the brown line though. There is something there that doesn't seem just right. I think that you should follow through with the brown steps here instead of going back a step. Just a suggestion though Keep up the fantastic work matey Errorist -
The Amsterdam, 18th century cargo ship of the Dutch East India Company
Errorist replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Pirates
I found her a bit disappointing but that was mainly because of the exterior. The interior was done pretty decently though. Of course she's not the Batavia but don't let that spoil your fun I concur! Where is that picture? Errorist -
So this is how your dinghy turned out then? The sails really are the finishing touch. The ship was still so incomplete when we visited, it's good to see what can happen in a couple of weeks! Keep up the good work Captain Errorist

He wouldn't dare! He still needs to be baptisted into the life at sea! Isn't that right Captain?

Great pictures Tom That weekend was a blast!! The scale of the diorama is indeed 1:72.The dimensions are 18 meters by 4 meters (or 59 feet by 13 feet). And it features over 70 different ships. So it was quite big It was a shame we couldn't visit the Prins Willim replica though.

Best punk rock band ever is and will always be NOFX imo. That beeing said I voted for Blink 182. They used to have great albums but the best ones were made before Travis Barker had joined the band. Also where are The Transplants in this poll? If you don't know this band, it was Travis Barker's sideproject when he was still drumming in Blink. Check 'em out if you don't know them Errorist

Here's the link to the great tutorial which Captain Greenhair made for rigging
-
Your cannon design is magnificent Teddy as I'm sure you already know yourself You say this design only covers the 32-and 24 pounder guns of the ship. Do you have an idea yet as to how you're going to design the 12 pounder guns?
-
This is a very good attempt at creating a minifig-scale HMS Victory. The tumblehome effect worked out better than I would have imagined using that technique. The rigging is superb and the builder gave me a copule of ideas on how to do the rigging on my own ship. I will also be borrowing this guy's technique for the catheads because they're just perfect. I'm also impressed with the way he built his stern. There are some great techniques hidden in there as well. Some other things I would have done otherwise though. Such as the lifeboats which I would have done like this: A design Captain Greenhair and myself conjured up during my trip to Amsterdam this summer. Also I think his bowsprit is way too long. If the creator were to cut of the top part it would have the exact length IMO. And last but not least I would like to have seen black gunportlids instead of those yellow ones. but those are just my thoughts though Anyway, it's a great creation overall and I admire the builder for building it. If my ship works out as good as his (especially the rigging part) than I will be a very happy man Errorist

What a peaceful MOC this is. The waterfall worked out really well Erdbeereis. Great job! The fisherman is a neat touch. For me, he is what makes this MOC truly zen. Great work, keep it up!! Errorist
