42055 - Bucket Wheel Excavator
Brick-Nick replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Both last year 2H & this year 1H cam out at the same time in Canada than in most of Europe. Same, this year 42056 came out in Canada at the same time than Europe. I would be very surprised if this is not happening again this year and if release dates were different in the USA & Canada -

Love the idea of a steam engine ! I am wondering if it would be possible to have a technic M motor running a pump that would be linked to some pneumatic jacks to create the motion of the wheels. You would need to find a way to have the same M motor interacting with the pneumatic selectors somehow ! Or maybe linking these selectors to the jacks so when it is fully out, it triggers the switch in the selector !

I respect your wish to get more cars, I just find they do not offer anything new functions to Technic. There is only so much you can do on a car : direction, fake engine driven by 2 or 4wd, gearbox that just changes the speed in the engine (a bit boring in my opinion) and opening/closing doors, hood & trunk... otherwise it is very limited ! Is there anything I don't think about?

42055 - Bucket Wheel Excavator

Agreed but if you get the mesh on an angle, this would be limited... another 2 months and we will know ! -
Great reviews ! It definitely sealed my decision ! I'll pass ! @Designer-han : is your avatar one of your MOCs ? If so do you have more photos somewhere?

42055 - Bucket Wheel Excavator

I am doubtful about the vibration screen. It seems a bit complicated for Lego. I really think we'll have a simple mesh that will stop the larger pieces and let the smaller ones through. -
Any insights on the 2017 line-up ? (I know we still don't have the 2016 2H out and I am already talking about the 2017 line up...

Nicely spotted ! You may want to check this : http://brickset.com/sets/42055-1/Bucket-Wheel-Excavator -
To defend the snow groomer, I think my previous post about the groomer was pretty self-explanatory. What do you want more about it ? We need to let people keep their imagination running a bit ! Too much informations and then people will be disappointed by the sets if they don't have all the features they expected !

I would absolutely love to see a groomer like the Pistenbully 600 Winchcat. PF could be : - independent tracks - pneumatic or actuator on front element (up, down, right inclination , left inclination, vertical angulation, moveable side flaps) - same on back element - Winch Manual functions could be : - flipping cabin to expose in line engine - rotation of winch crane - attachement of front & back elements I know a few people have done some pretty nice MOCs but I have not seen any on lego ideas. Any opinion / idea ?

Future Ultimate Technic Sets
Brick-Nick replied to Kman860's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Agreed ! TLG has had a few cars, cranes & planes/choppers in the last few years but some other types of machinery have been missing as well. I really welcome their attempt on the BWE coming out in August and I think big machinery with varied functions (not yet again just some steering with HOG, doors opening & closing & fake engine w/ or without speed gear box...) is the way to keep people interested in Technic in the future !
