Nocturnus Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion
Jareth replied to I Scream Clone's topic in Guilds of Historica
Hopefully this will be at brickworld http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=82892 -
Before even the oldest liches were born or eldest dragons hatched, a mighty volcano in Noctuurnus went extinct. Since then a forest has grown in the lee of this dead titan. Legend has it that the oldest trees were the original seedlings of this forest, making them among the oldest things in nocturnus. About once a century, someone tries to harvest the wood from this sacred, and apparently peacefull site. Few come back with tales of Toads the size of Horses and Squirrels the size of houses, but only lord Ssisslrth knows the truth, the land is haunted and any intelligent being who enters diminishes in size the longer they travel the woods. Behold the might of......wait a minute.....gah! Sorry, thats a picture of the trunk and crown support structure. Here we are Elves have used the natural properties of the land to make a proper home. The land protects them from unnatural raiders and food can be enlarged in times of famine. They use their natural harmony with nature to avoid the carnivores now at monsterous size and are always aware that here, they are not the top of the food chain, or nature's protectors, they are Tenants. They eat well, and wine is always plentiful. A cask of wine rolled down the right hill can become an enormous barrel. In this way their best vintages are essentially everlasting. Other foods tend to loose some of their flavor or become tough, so natural fruits and animals are raised. In the lowest portions, shrines to the elements protect their home. (the interior picture was too fuzzy) Even using a titan for a home, requires sacrifices in space, so bunk beds with special quilts are used. Each clan is responisble for learning to use the Bow and one other weapon. One clan is on patrol, so it's weapons rack is empty. The base of the tree On a side note, I tried to take a picture of the back of the tree, but....um....it was a little too suggestive. I hope to bring this brickworld.

Durring their last BOGO I picked up two city polybags which did not ring up correctly, so I told the cashier and he took care of it. I f you're only buying 2 or 4 it shoudl work for you. If you are buying 30....good luck.

Nocturnus Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion

So, I've got two Large WIPs that I just can't seem to tackle (been buisy) so I finished off a small Vignette. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=82632 -
Despite our warnings, Avalonian Bounty hunters, adventurers and Border "princes" continue to try and make a name for themselves in Nocturnus. (Sigh) Here's the latest trio after tracking down their Tanar'i "Prey" Look at That Rookie! He dropped his weapon AND his sheild! Meanwhile the two Feral Tanar'i seem to be taking bets on the outcome. More pics will be available when the folder is made public. A few notes. I'm glad I came up with a use for flickfire pins. Tanar'i are mostly human/part demon (from D&D) and displacer beasts are eight legged panthers with tentacles that "Displace" their image, making them difficult to hit. (The real Beast is invisible, and there is an illusion of it about 5 feet from where it really is) The base of the Displacer beasts is a Brickforge Centaur Body. I may keep the cliff face around for a background in future projects. Any suggestions on how to (Cheaply) improve it would be appreciated. C&C welcome!

Nocturnus Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion

I agree. Perhaps we could make that a Nocturnus Look, using an odd colored brick as an accent color. I've seen regular red done well, and One of my WIPs has white as an accent color. -
Lego.com has had a lot of Star Wars go on clearance Also the target clearance moved to another store. I got 3 weathertops for half off, and saw Gandalf's arrival and shelob's lair for 30% off...but they were gone the next time I looked.

Nocturnus Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion

As I recall, before the four guilds were formed, there were a lot of different factions, and their heraldry can pop up anywhere. Also, this isn't the first time Black falcon has turned up in nocturnus. By the way, that is an awesome bird design. -
Hulk Like Kittens! As requested, here is a closeup of the band

Recently Darkdragon and I, along with a Wislug member who is not on Eurobricks set up a display in The Milwaukee Lego Store. I call it TUBY (TCBY is a frozen yogurt chain in the states) Her is my portion (walls and interior, including the band) as well as our friends porion (The red carpet, line, bouncer and classic space vehicles) Her is a great party, care of Darkdragon.....I think the Wampa in the back is doing "The robot" A close up of the line outside. More shots including WIP can be found at http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=526828

The staff at Shaumburg Lego store have offered to order parts for me to buy off the PAB wall. I've never actually taken advantage of it, nad it might be a local decision, but...you never know, give them a call and try.

At a target I saw 7286 Prisoner Transport (police) for about 30% off....about $17, but at another target it was regular price. Weird
-
They were on one of the clearance endcaps in toys. I have also checkedout other targets and not found clearance, but there is always variability as to what goes clearance and for how much.
-
I think Target is starting another clearance event. I got four copies of 60018 Cement mixer for $10 each, of course by it's nature these clearance events have different prices/selections.
-
Just found a Wolverene's Helicopter showdown for $14.01 (US) as a repackage at target.

Ok, here's some WIP pics You know, now that I have pics I feel a lot better about the Imperfections. I wanted the interior to be compeltely yellow, but the brown patches are ok. I also Don't like the odd patches of grey and white (and red and blue) on the floors, but those were necessary for SNOT technique. I think they will be less visible when the rooms are furnished. -

Sigh, Once again I have bitten off more than my collection can support. Where are all of my 1x2 plates? Well, I'm pretty sure I can make this idea work, just not as perfect as I would like. I'm working on a combined elf/forestman base. -
[MOC] GoT/ASOIAF: Aerys discovers the Wildfire
Jareth replied to Flieger's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Honestly man, you have nothing to apolgoze for. This is a great MOC, and a great picture. May I invite you to join the Nocturnus guild in Historica? -
I really like this. When I first saw it, I thought it was the same guy getting more powerfull. Perhaps I'll do the same thing with some other residents of Historica, of course, some nocturnians would get more mutated over time, but that's part of the fun.

I am totally stealing that plant idea

I like your spider a lot better than the offical ones. The feet are great and the way you did the pedipalps/mandibles is wonderfull. Keep it up!

I also like the raised base plate. The drawbridge mechanism looks great! Is it functional?
