While waiting for the contest to begin, some of the archers went out for a freindly drink. DaMaximus, do you know the name of this bar? It is in your city so perhaps you should name it. Then Hog's-Eye got a little to exumberant. Fortunatelly the other contestants worked together to subdue the troll. This was my first time shooting in daylight. The light is better, but I'm not sure if it's worth the hassle of working with the wind!

I'm loving that inside. I really like the ceiling mosaics. I'd also like to see a better picture of the floor and how you used arches.
-
Another great build. I really like the organic feel of the arches. The white stripes and the textured roofs also look great.

Huh, I wonder why they consider Duplo and Lego to be seperate lines. And K'nex does have parts that make it fully compatible with Lego. For the rest you can use duct tape.

This has such a great use of SNOT and is reminiscent of Lord of the Rings. I am very impressed by the catapults. Are they held together, or just balanced?
-
I love it! I especially like the palm trees. Are the gold pieces on top of the bosses part of a house rule?

Sorry to intrude on another lands forums, but I have been wondering about that problem as well. From Lego we have Small trolls and large trolls and now we will get LOTR ocs and trolls. Plus Harry potter trolls, goblins and house elves. And the star wars aliens that people use as orcs, lizard men and goblins....it's confusing. Perhaps the Orcs, Goblins and trolls of Historica are all just one race with a lot of subspecies variety, like dogs. But the names refer more to tribes than parentage. So a troll tribe could have as much or as little variety as you like. -

note: there will be others in the city ;) Hey Angeli, How do you get the wings off Buzz Lightyear's Armor? Do you break them? -
Here is the best image I have of army helmet Mushrooms And here is a link to the gallery of Mr. Cinder's Mushroom Farm. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=496431 Oh, Captain Beer Beard asked if Duplos work with system Lego bricks. Yes they do, but It's best to stick with 2x2 and 2x4 brick connections, especially when the duplos are on the bottom.

Very Nice, I really like the use of Spheres as immature Mushrooms. I've also used these parts for mushrooms, Construction Helmet & Army Helmet http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3833 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=87998 Also, I saw this set yesterday http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Creative-Cakes-6785 It has some interesting possibilities, including some Huge Mushrooms.

There's too much to complement here, so I'll stick to my favorites. I like how you used the different browns in the shrine. I love the genie and the cheese slope floor is simple and elegant.

Very nice! Are you going to be using these pieces in the round 3 challenge?

Greetings lord and honored Host DaMaximus! My Master Hog's-Eye is practicing on the pitch as we speak. Oh Good, he's doing well. I've Posted some pictures of him here http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=498960 (this folder should be public saturday) Feel free to use them for the archery contest. I may upload some more pictures later. If I may humbly suggest, perhaps the other competitors could also donate some pictures for promoting the contest.

I love it. The retro feel really gives me nostalgia, and I always wanted more civilian castle sets back in the day. I'm sure that if this set was available back in the 80s it would be a classic.

@ Balthasar: Thank yoiu for putting me on the map! I was so excited, I felt like Steve Martin in "The Jerk" When he sees his name in the phone book. Weird but true.... @Angeli: I've allways liked your creations. Especially how you build giant scale structures with just two colors....I can't even build a small one without combining old and new gray. Anyway, I haven't given advice before now, because I felt I wasn't experienced enough to do so, but I just had a couple ideas. I noticed you said that all of your creations had to be playable, and I've also noticed that a lot of the recognition goes to highly detailed interiors. I think your exteriors need no improvement, but you shoudl try to make the introduction photos be a highly detailed interior. I humbly suggest a torture chamber, shrine to Lloth or training arena. Actually I guess the first two are interchangable. In any case keep building, and thanks for telling me how to make that dragon tail! @everyone: I'm so excited for the third challenge! -

I like how detailed everything is and how it looks like it was built in stages. -

Thank you Count Nero, I would greatly appreciate it if you would place the town of Scarbourough on the northern peninsula. The one located between the words "To Midgard" and "Malarakis Swamps" -
I agree, but I'd take it a step further and say that the creator buckets should be more color themed. For example, if TLG is doing alot of fire fighter for town, it should try and make a red/white creator bucket. For castle, it should be light or dark stone and whatever the roof color of that year's theme is supposed to be. Obviously they can't do this for every theme that comes out, but just the effort would be aprreciated instead of a rainbow collection of 2xX bricks and whatever they had leftovers of.

Nice tudor build and roof technique. Angling the bridge really makes it look like a real terrain feature, instead of 90 degrees to the rest.

My favorite bit is the fire on the skeleton ship. -
This build is a great example of "how to" Everywhere I look I see great little details that can be added to other peoples builds.
-
The thing that's amazing about this build is that it has no weak points....no places that were just bricked in. Just all over wonderfull build.
-
I agree, I'd love to steal some of these ideas, but I don't have the parts for everything. It inspires me to look for other uses for parts however, and that's allways a good thing.

I love it. Are you planning on connecting these scenes with future scenes?

Nice Cape, but even nicer use of snotted leaf pieces to make a bush.
