You did a nice job shortening the train without ruining the looks of the train. However, I have to agree with talltim: I think I will keep mine in the long version. (It's probably our European background)

Nice buildings. I like them a lot. They just look like some simple buildings but the small details make them perfect. You did a great job on the windows above the doors and the basement windows.
-
Nice MOD. It is a more logical place to put the window. And I see you also put some airconditioning in the Café Corner.

MOC UK Style suburban semi detached house c1940s

Nice building and a very complete interior up to the toilet paper. The bay windows worked out nice but the front door is really good. Great job you did there especially with the window above the door. -

Wow, I was thinking about converting a Maersk train into a black version. But now I may reconsider. This looks great. -
Great job! I must say that the pickup is absolutely perfect. But I think I like your streamliner most. Nice smooth lines and a great colour combination. The shooting brake is an absolute monster and personally I think it is a bit too much, but that may just be the idea.

It turned out great! This is something I dreamed of as a little kid. Fantastic to see it.

Simply stunning. I don't have any critisism, it is simply too good for that. And that coach... Awesome. Really smooth lines.

I haven't seen the piece in real life. But if I look at the picture the exposed neck is really bad. So I can't say that is an improvement. I prefer the old one.

MOC: Texas State Railroad Palestine Depot

Awesome. I first thought: I have seen this before... Then I checked and saw you already showed us your LDD MOC in another topic. Great that you really built it now. And I must say that I like the brick built one a lot better. Especially since you did some extra work on additional trees and the water tower. -

Great work. Simply stunning. I love the overall design. Those driving pistons are awesome, but I really like how you did the tender. -
MOD: Emerald Night Passenger Car
Man with a hat replied to Man with a hat's topic in LEGO Train Tech
My apologioes for the late reply. It has been a busy week. No I didn't see this one before. But this one looks great. Are you trying to make me jealous? Thank you. Yes I have pictures of hang overs on switches: More pictures can be found on my Brickshelf (when moderated). No problems negotiating switches, even on the 7996 Double Crossover Track. Thank you. And: Thank you. I really enjoyed doing this part since I haven't seen something similar. For the other parts it seems difficult to not unintentially copy something from someone else. And I totally agree with you on the 3677. -
Amazing how you got this done. I am still wondering how you got everything together. And of course it looks great.

Great little station and beautiful car. Hopefully you are going to show us the brick built version as well.

MOD: Emerald Night Passenger Car
Man with a hat replied to Man with a hat's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Thank you. Concerning the curves: It does have a lot of hang over in the corners. However points/swiches are not a problem. I was a bit worried about that myself and I do think this is as long as you can practically build it. But my motorized Emerald night doesn't have any problems pulling it. -
That is simply great. I love those classic 80s LEGO. And I like your version of 6607. I just recently rebuild my 646 myself. Lovely car. Just can't get enough of those classic sets.

I got the Emerald Night some time ago and really wanted more cars. However when I saw the 7 wide version of brickzone and the 48 long cars of Cooper it got me thinking. I started designing in LDD using some of there ideas and here is the result: I tried to make something of the underside The inside interior is very similar to the cars of Cooper. This is the first class version. Perhaps I will make other versions some time later. For those interested here is also the LDD-file. en_mod_pax_car_1st_class_7w_52l.lxf The train wheel are missing now after the recent update of LDD (hopefully they will come back) and the two tubes on top are actually two 21 stud long ones but that was not available in LDD. And of course comments are more than welcome.

Hello everybody. Although I got back to LEGO because of the modular buildings, nowadays trains got most of my attention. Not really surprising as one of my first sets was 171 . Years later I saved enough money to by 7725 . I really enjoyed the 12V era although I didn't have that much track. My current trains are two 7938 trains I combined . It is a perfect train for this easy mod and it looks great to me. Then I also got me two Emerald Nights . One I put the powerfunctions in. And my most recent purchase is 3677 . It probably won't stop there. I do like the Maersk train as well, so that will most likely be the next train.

Misprints and Other LEGO Production Oddities
Man with a hat replied to Navy Trooper Fenson's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Finally gotten around to posting my favourite brick of my own collection. I have this brick as long as I can remember so it must be from the late '70s. Obviously something went wrong in the mold but the brick still sneeked past quality control -
MOD/MOC: 7 Stud Wide Emerald Night Coach & Goods Trucks
Man with a hat replied to Hrw-Amen's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Nice wagons. I like the passenger car especially. I agree with you that 7 wide is the best looking (I am busy with a 7 wide myself) I also like the way you did the ends. Nice solution to the overly ventilated original. But I have to agree with HighFlyer that the grilles on top would look better in bluish grey. Besides that it is really good. -
That looks promising. Instantly recognizing the influences of the 12V era train stations. I like it. I always thought the LEGO staions were too small, but I am hesitant to extend them because of the amount of work and space it needs. But it looks like it is worth the effort. Great middle waiting area by the way. Nice use of those hinges. Can't wait to see more.

Thanks for this outstanding review. It is perfect. Complete in details and the comments are spot on. And yes I also bought two of them and got addicted to LEGO trains again.

Great building. The facade of course as others have mentioned before is absolutely stunning. It fits perfecvtly between your other buildings. And nice chocolate cakes as well. Too bad I am on a diet.
-
This is a great store. Nice attention to all the details. And of course that guitar in the front... But also a very nice facade. Really appropriate for a record store.

LDD update 4.1.8 released
Man with a hat replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Downloaded without problems. Always nice to have more parts. But I do need to get used to all those parts movements to other categories. Yes I noticed this too. Very annoying. I used them a lot for my LDD trains. Hope they will be back soon.
