The Forest Mafia Confirmation & Discussion thread

Funniest day opening/ closing post yet!* Great pictures, once again, too. *aside from the carnage -
Happy Birthday Rufles!! (I'll try to edit in a cake later ) But I will make sure there's plenty of LEGO! Edit: now able to post an appropriate cake

Clearly these are wise words from the voices of experience and should be ignored at our peril (or perhaps, sobriety?) And, yes, I am soooo looking forward to Windsor and Chicago that July will clearly be a disappointing month by comparison.

I echo all that Lego Lassie posted; a great way to tie the two together, and nice little Mini MOC for the tripod and flash. Ahem. There are a few of us around here, too.

Is there a good reason for other people to stay until Tuesday? I only ask as we've yet to book flights and would also consider returning on Tuesday, however I don't wish to pry into any personal plans, or want to gatecrash anything.

Comprehensive, informative, hilarious! I'm still laughing now and will probably revisit the review, to read it again. I shall endeavour to keep this manifestation of evil from our LEGO collection, as a result. (Shouldn't be difficult) Thank you for the review, and I really, really hope you decide to review more Belville sets.

This is very kind of you Holodoc, don't forget to let me reimburse you!

Lucky Find at Brand Store Minifigure Bar

I recognise the torso in the bottom right of the picture shame they didn't have the matching skirt. Looks like you got a great haul, we'll be at our LEGO store on Friday (birthday treat - not mine, the fella's) and I doubt they'll have anything as interesting, but I'll certainly keep a look-out now that you've posted, so thanks -
I'm absolutely positive (and that happens rarely ) it's in Chicago every year, as it's Brickworld Chicago if that's what you mean? Or maybe you could plan to go to Chicago next year? Plus, there's loads of European events, including the upcoming EB event in Windsor this year, so have a look at the index.

Hi Holodoc, please may I place an order with you for one of these? A PM should be winging its way to you. Thanks.

While we have our three days of summer in London, this is just the song, with amazing guitar work and from a great album:

Wow! WampaStompa that's dynamic and the lighting is great! How did you get the greenish tinge on the walls? And is that liquid on the floor? Great pic -

I suspect some of the players will be happy to volunteer suggestions, once this is concluded -
Mafia School: Escape From Isla Paradisa
Pandora replied to Sandy's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Ahem. Sorry. Very well if the blocker had been scum! That said, it was great with the just essential roles, and additional night actions may have been distracting. I believe the aim was to understand the mechanics, which I also believe this game achieved brilliantly. Once again, great pictures and sets Sandy. -
I understand where you're coming from, lightningtiger, but I thought this was not so much about what LEGO could do, but rather what each of us would love them to do in our wildest dreams. So surely all suggestions are equally valid?

I had to google "Worthing" to find out where you were supposed to be from, and was surprised to find the only result was for the UK. I have to admit, every time you said something like "no diggety" I did laugh a little, and I'm very grateful you didn't go down the "corblimeyluvaduckapplesandpearscockneygeezer" road, although I'm sure you would have made that equally amusing! Word. -

Of course Sandy didn't tell us!!! You did. In a round about sort-of-way, which is why I answered as I did. It wasn't just from our conversations, but also things Brickdoctor had said, and other bits and pieces, culminating to the very obvious towards the end. (Very, very obvious on the last day ) -
What a great find! It's a charming children's TV programme that I didn't know existed. MetroiD - reconsidering a Fabuland SigFig? Go on, you know you want to...

You don't really want me to answer that, do you? -
Mafia School: Escape From Isla Paradisa
Pandora replied to Sandy's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Hi, umm, hello I'm glad people have already done the "bygones" bit, otherwise I'd be scared to show my face! First and foremost, because I really haven't said it enough: Thank you Sandy!! You've been an excellent teacher and I've learned so much. This game has been fantastic to be part of; everything about it has been of the highest quality - the sets, pictures, story and characters. Thank you for being a supportive but impartial teacher, who has been very patient with us all, and for providing us with such a high class mafia to get us started. I can't praise you enough; I can only begin to imagine how much of your own time you put into producing this, and my death was superb; I could not stop laughing! I have a few bits and pieces to say: Congratulations town! Especially Brickdoctor, and KielDaMan. And sorry it was me Special congratulations to KartoffelViking who I think is the unsung hero of the Town; it was you we were after all along. We knew Brickdoctor was the cop on day 1, for various reasons, and were amazed the Protector had found the Cop on the first night (which might account for Captain Tamamono's demise). If there had been the slightest hint from you that you were the Doctor, you would have been killed, so well done! When it became clear after night 3 that the Doctor was a trusted and probably uninvestigated townie, the choice was between Commander Fox and you. We all know how that turned out. I completely agree that the beginning of the end for us was losing dr jones, and I really didn't help matters as I was the one who suggested Dan didn't vote for him - so I take responsibility for that and also for urging the kill on Brickdoctor again on night 3. It was great fun playing with my fellow scum, cheers guys, sorry we lost and thanks for putting up with my "we must kill the protector and then kill Brickdoctor" rants. We may have done better as a team of four, not three, but hey-ho. Thank you to Iz for not rebuffing my advances I know it made at least one person happy.. As to the last few days; I was very much aware when I was the last remaining scum that I didn't have a hope in hell, however I promised Sandy I would go out fighting and stood to defend myself as best I could against the indefensible. There was nothing else I could do, there were no other game mechanics I could claim would explain the investigation result and I thank Brickdoctor for taking it well and Kiel for understanding what I was doing and cutting me some slack. I really, really enjoyed playing and I'd love to play again. I'm pleased with some aspects of how I played, but there's still a lot I'd like to improve, but I guess (I hope) that will come with experience. Thanks fellow classmates! and I would have gotten away with it, too, if it hadn't been for those pesky kids... -

How many panda-related deaths can there be within 24 hours? (three, evidently. So far.) That nice Mr Shadows, it's such a shame he keeps dying -
Yet another incredible MOC from you. It, like your others, is so detailed and beautifully designed, with this time a hint of the macabre and your now trademark wonderful Tudor buildings. The introduction, I found fascinating and informative, and a great way to set the scene. I always enjoy looking at your creations.

That might not be the best way to get placed as a reserve!
