If this is released, I'll surely get it, since I'm an extreme winter addict. Just look at one of my last CAD-MOCs (no not that carriage scene I've recently added to the Historic Themes Forum), instead the Apres Ski scene, which I built some time ago in CAD. I'm slowly thinking about recreating my old Sigfig-House MOC to go with the Winter village sets, altough that the house has classic 80s-town style, instead of the Town Plan/Winter village series, with their crossover of modular and city. The piece count is quite similar, with almost 700pcs compared to a little over 800pcs from the toy shop. And there's a vehicle, a horse-drawn carriage in it, so I think the german price will be around 60€, not those horrifying japanese prices. mFg Widdi

This is a CAD-MOC, which I built some time ago. But rendered it today. The MOC is composed of two parts. First a magnificent yellow carriage with 4 horses, since I don't know how to make a Trojka with the normal LEGO carriage parts, keeping the style near official sets from the 80s-90s. And second a simple Hut, built from mud, simulated by the tan parts and a straw roof, but only at a level of Detail like classic sets. And basic windows. The hut has a complete interior composed of a bed, table, chair and a fireplace. And a tile-built fence. Also there's a brick-built tree and finally as this is an early spring scene some last patches of snow on the ground. The complete model includes 4 minifigs, 5 horses (one for the cossack) and has 379pcs. The complete Scene with the long carriage and the small hut The Interior in the ground floor, just some simple things inside The upper floor, just a barrel Completed hut in the fence step, adding over 40 pcs at once. And lastly the magificent carriage. Complete Instructions on BS mFg Widdi

I've cadded up another thing. This is based on an older idea posted in the City Ideas topic. The main building screams 80s, the Schirmbar not, since it's a bit clunky and with 4 walls. Model contains 940pcs (counted by the instructions), which would be in the 80-100€ range if it was an actual set. It's got a whopping 13 minifigs, since I've included two extra figs and a extra bar keeper Completed model. With all things added. Minifigs are all inside. Vehicles The model has 3 vehicles, not counting the six ski and snowboard equipments stuck in one of the racks (snowboards simulated by skateboards, just kill the wheel hubs) First a classic 80s-city car with opening engine compartment, like some 80s sets had. Then a modern quad and a classic snow scooter parked in front of the building. This little yellow car screams late 80s classic town and with 57 pieces The blue quad, with some more modern pieces included with 30pcs in total Lastly the classic 90s snow scooter. Made up of just 17pcs. Schirmbar building This is the schirmbar the only one in the lot without open back, due to it's odd octagonal shape. It's got a complete interior with 8 seats and the bar itself. Model contains 251 pieces for itself Basic interior 8 chairs round the bar at step 5 Completed interior the beer taps are installed and the first people inside. There's just the roof missing. Sadly I made some design flaws so it can only be opened by taking the roof off. Completed this part. The roof looks odd, due to the brick-built shape. To open: just remove the tile on top Apres-ski lodge The last and largest part of the model. It contains 3 stories and is fully brick-built. The House has a complete interior and except for missing balconies built in alpine style. and uses 530pcs for itself. Ground floor: Contains a bar, a little terrace, a DJ area and two sound boxes nearby Interior of the second floor. A kitchen with grill, stove and a little restaurant Third floor has 4 beds, making a nice bedroom for guests, that drank too much or students on skiing holidays Completed building. The cars aren't added yet, these are added in step 25. Complete Instructions and mpd in My BS (when moderated) mFg Widdi

Just cadded another model up. It's a simple Night club with bordello included. The model weighs in at 515pcs and has a three-story building with interior, a small red convertible and a nice black Stretch limo. The cars have some 80s-90s style mixed with some modern parts. Includes 9 minifigs, and three women with busts, which have to be fixed with some small rubberbands. As always designed like older LEGO town sets Building and Interior Pics and instruction shots of the finished model. It's a three-story building with interior in 5 rooms at just a small 32x16 The complete model. It was formerly used as a small hotel, but this was bancrupt and reopened as a night club. The building is classic early 90s style. Step 5 reveals the interior of the Ground floor. it's got a bar, tables and of course table dancing stages Step 12 reveals the private rooms in the bordello part. Step 19 has got the office on the third floor done, including another bed Vehicles Complete Convertible. It's a small red sportcar, early 90s-like, but mixed with modern parts. And the Black stretch. It's built with two mid-90s car bases stuck together. The car is classic 80s design with some modern car roof pieces. and of course with doors. More on: BS mFg Widdi

I'm waiting for the snow, until I'll make a shooting of it outside. If it comes maybe I'm building a new Minifig groomer, if I find time, which would be the third generation, after the ones from 2005 and 2006. But sadly it's getting warm this week, damned Eastern Atlantic. I was in saxonia this weekend, well up there I had a little bit of snow, but today morning it rained even over 800m asl, which is quite high for a village over there. The highest mountains being 1215m (Fichtelberg) and 1244m (Klinovec) mFg Widdi

Even majhost.com doesn't work at the moment. I've made a flickr account for my latest scenic pics, to have a second base. I think it's just a server outage, so I think it'll be back somewhere the next few days or until Xmas. That's just technical problems. Just try again when the month is over. It's a shame, since I've got my latest review on there and this was one for a classic 80s set, which makes the issue even more annoying. MFg Widdi

INDEXED Just bought the set on friday for a hefty price of 70€ at a stand on the creativmesse 2009 in Munich. This one was released as Holiday Home in 1983 for about 50DM, which equals 25€ in 1983, nowadays it's worth a lot more. I'll start with the review and even show some of the 6 alternates found on the back of the Box. 1. Box and Instructions The box is in really great shape considering the age of now over 26 years. It had a removable Inner box. Simply take it out of the cover, just like old vinyl records. Inside was a ziploc pack, since I've gotten a used one, no MISB. The instructions are a simple A4 booklet, with just 7 pages for the Main model and the car and include pictures from some of the alternates. This has absolutely no <insert that tiresome argument> pieces, not even the classic 5-brick high pillars, since they weren't invented until late 80s and I got it with an extra flower. (normally it only uses 4, instead of 5 flowers) Box Front, really great shape after all those years The backside with 6 alternate models shown and interior pictures for 2 of them The instructions: They're quite worn of all the years, but still complete 2. Alternates This set came with 6 alternate designs shown on the backside, two of them are shown on the last page of the Instructions I've built 4 of them, the two shown again in the Instructions, the vacation house with pool and the really small summer house Classic House This is the largest of the alternates, using 240 pcs (including the car) and having a nice white and blue color sheme, resembling wood at the upper floor for the timbering. The car from the main model is used as the car for the alternate. This was a hard build, I don't even know if I got the backside of the carport right. It's covered by the marquee, what a clever use for it. Interior of the alternate, a kitchen living room-combo and a nice bedroom Front view Right-side view Verdict: Great classy design for an alternate model,a bit hard to rebuild, but captures the 80s vibe 9/10 House with carport This is the second model shown in the instructions. There were no interior shots for this one, so I think it wasn't designed to get an interior, but I built my own from the set's pieces. It has a complete carport, tough still just protected by the marquee in the front half, by the structure in the back half. Model contains 230pcs including the car and a interior. Front view Interior shot, built a kitchen and a sleeping room, which also has a little living room area besides it Side view with a look at the balcony and the whole retro scene Verdict: Nice design, especially with the balcony, but that balcony isn't really holding up well, it has a hole inside when built. Modificated with an complete interior, it's a 8,5/10 Summer house After that I've built the simple summer house, shown on the box. This is the only model without a car, but you can use the one from the set as an addition to the model. It counts a mere 145pcs and was a rather fast build, but packs a nice scene with BBQ and a bench below the marquee. Front view of the complete scene Back view. inside there's just a chair Another view of the scene. Verdict: Really simple design, but heck a LEGO summer house, which could easily stand in a garden plot, loose the colour sheme. Brings me to an 8/10 Vacation House This is the last alternate Model I've built out of the 6. It's car is a convertible version of the classic 80s car included in the set. It looks like a bigger version of the Vacation Hideaway released in 1990, judging from the design. Other than that it has a small swimming pool, using up the 6 blue 6x1 bricks in the set for the water. The piece count including the car is 221 for the whole scene. Front view of this great alternate Back view with the interior, this doesn't have a bed inside Side view Verdict: The greatest of the alternates to me, but I've got to deduct the points a bit for the missing bed, since this house would've had enough room for a bed. The best part is the swimming pool, altough small. it is made of just 10 basic pieces, no plates and tiles used, just white bricks for the boundary and blue bricks for the water. To me a 9,5/10. 3. Building the Main Model After disassembling the alternate model, I've dumped all the bricks back again into the inner box, which was surprisingly full after dumping them inside, not like today, leaving lots of room for more parts in the huge boxes. The model is compromised of 2 parts, a simple classic 80s car, which even has the original red wheels, connected by a metal rod, not the classic small wheel came out in 1985. All pieces in the Inner Box The Minifigs, just a man and a woman with pigtails, sorry it's a bit blurry The car on step 6 with the doors attached, imagine a agents car on that classic base Finished Rear view, just 80s goodness Now to the house this is, how it looks on step 1 The Interior of the ground floor is completed by step 3 View inside after having finished the ground floor by step 8 This is the step 10, showing the interior of the upper floor Finished the Model on step 19, which is quite a lot of steps for a 26 year old City set Interior view on the finished model Side view made up like in the instructions Now like on the box, with the couple shortly before hugging Now they're hugging each other, just a nice scene, isn't it. Verdict: Design: 10/10 Great classic design and really enough room for the minifigs. Playability: 10/10 Great playability ,altough not action-packed, Heck it's a house Alternates: 9/10 Nice designs on the 4 I've built the other 2 are nice, too, but I didn't built them. Price: NA I'll leave that out, due to the rarity of the set nowadays Parts: 9/10, Great selection, no juniorisation and excellent for MOCcing, especially classic town Total: 38/40 Excellent Set from the early 80s, even with great alternate designs mFg Widdi

I've bought 2 vintage LEGO sets and 2 special event sets at the MOC munich, yesterday. The oldies are a slightly beat up 6675 4x4, which missed one 1x3 plate, which I've replaced with one from my bricks and the trans-clear sunroof was replaced with a trans-light blue one, couldn't find a trans-clear on the short search. The other a I think near mint 6374 Holiday home from 1983 The others the BrickingBavaria 2009 smart car in the swiss version (liked it's design best) and a SwissLUG special Set, which resembles a really old Saurer bus (The Alpenwagen III) Picture: mFg Widdi

I've changed in May for a 2009 Opel Corsa D-type, after my old 1993 Opel Astra F had a rusted out engine, after a whopping 16 years of almost daily use, which is quite a lot for an early 90s Opel. As you can see at the oil under the Car, it had a damaged engine, due to the long running time, 16 years is quite a lot for this type of Car, it was called the worst Opel ever made, still made it until it's 17th year. Now I've got that one. But sadly crashed it in June at downtown munich, but it's all fixed since July again and no more crashes had. It even passed the Ski test, altough being a class smaller than the old car. This was shot yesterday at about 1070m asl. in over a half metre of snow, which is a lot given the season. mFg Widdi

Got it today in the Legoland Guenzburg. I think it's available in Munich, too, since Munich often gets new sets earlier, than Guenzburg. The set design, is extremely nice and quite ralistic. It looks like an older toy store in rural regions, It's interior is a bit plain, but due to the wooden floor really realistic. And even skiing kid's minifigs, even including ski poles which can be modified to adult skiers, by changing the legs to the normal ones. Seems that somebody at TLC looked at one of my old CAD minifig-groomers, since the second edition has a minifig with skis. The missing prints don't annoy me, seem to be some skiing gear for the kids. The third kid seems not to like the caroling, as he want's to throw snowballs on the carollers. The park bank with the street lamp is really great designed, it just looks like it's real. The tree is another highlight, it's brick-built and can be rotated. The tan gift is a teddy bear, the others are a plain gift (maybe a huge LEGO set inside) and a Jack-in-the-box. And this great snowman design, only missing a nose in the correct size, since the carrot is too large for minifig scale. Voted for outstanding and at 60€ for 815 pieces, it's reasonably priced. mFg Widdi

I don't have the Original 1990 version, but the Legends Re-Release. Great design and timeless, but quite a lot of big parts, even though it isn't <insert that tiresome argument>. To me a 5/5, as I've got this since 7 years, when the Legends version came out, and it's still assembled, which is only the case on 1000+ piece-sets, no matter what series. And only rarely with a medium set containing just under 200 pieces. mFg Widdi

Sadly I haven't build it yet, at least not in this version, but I've some steps with added interior. It's clearly based on the 6349 House from 1988 design-wise. the interior is classic 90s town with some extras. Interior of the ground floor. Bedrooms. Reused the sheme from my Lego Island house II: The one with the panoramic windows for the bedroom furniture.

Man I'll have to think about some ideas. Snow Fun With sled, snowman and a gentle slope on a 16x16 or a 16x24 slope. Minifigs: 2 small kids, and two adults. 15€ Chairlift Big set with a Classic motorized single chair lift with a mountain structure delivering a ski slope of 32 to 64 studs lenght and some vertical drop Interior: Valley station:Cashpoint, waiting room, Return pulley with technic elements and a PF structure or a 9V technic motor to make it run under the roof. Summit station, just a roofed return pulley and a simple one floor building near the exit. Includes 8-10 chairs. Minifigs: cashier, two lift attendants. 5 guests. 80-100€ Some of my old Town Ideas from the Alpine Subtheme winter would also fit. And: I've made something like this a while ago, but a different design, which fits to the mid-90s sets. This is it made it some 4-5 years ago in CAD. mFg Widdi

Nice review. I don't have this, but the smaller 8941, which I got today at 70% off. For 12€ it's a steal compared to 40€ original price, but I wouldn't even have gotten it at half price, since I'm not in Bionicle. mFg Widdi

Just CADed something classic, after listening to, too many old 20s, 30s songs. It's a classic Craftsman-Style Bungalow from 1920s with 30s-style interior. Includes two bedrooms, an office room with an well ugly designed Typewriter. in the upper floor. A classic kitchen in the ground floor with wood-fired stove and a Livingroom with an old telephone, green Seats and a 1920s gramophone. It's built on two 16x16 plates, one of them with driveway and contains 523 pieces and 3 Minifigs. Here are some renders, don't have the Black slopes to build it for real and lacking money and time. Complete overview, building is squeezed on just 22x12 including the Veranda The gramophone, based on one I saw at Mocpages, but with an adopted crank Last but not least: The car. A classic black and blue car in 6-wide inspired by a 1930 Ford Tudor. Instructions are Here! Would be a great LEGO Store Exclusive in line with the 2008 Town Plan and the upcoming Fire House in Modular buildings, but more like City, due to the open backside for Playability. mFg Widdi

Doesn't work for me, but all Folders still show up with one thumbnail, but no content. Seems to be an Server error. Damned every time I've CADed something new. I won't migrate, hopefully that damned page works soon, since I want to show my latest creation (altough CAD). My sig-.Fig picture ist still up and the other pics, too mFg Widdi

REVIEW: 8263 Snow Groomer
Widdi replied to Blakbird's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Great review. I'll have to get this set as a skier dude. Price looks ok for almost 600 pcs. at about 50€ mFg Widdi -
Well I had a 1993 Opel Astra GLm with the 1.4 litre 4-cylinder engine, until the engine died in April 2009.Well, it still kept running, but not too good. Leaking cooling water all over. My first car, 60 HP, 5-door hatchback and good optical condition (only a little rust) I'm driving a 5-door 2009 Opel Corsa D-type 1.2 litre 16V since mid may. It has 80 HP and altough being just under 4 metres long enough room for my skis. And enough for new LEGO Sets. my new ride mFg Widdi

What a great design. I'll have to get this one, but I can't imagine this being more than around 50-70€, since it's too small being a 100€ set, thinking about around 400-600pcs. on that one. At 100€ I won't get it, or break down and getting it anyway, looking at that awesome design. Wish it would be late autumn as soon as possible, not only because of being a ski and snow addict. (just 25 Trips last winter vs. 11. in 07/08), but almost no Lego, since my money is eaten up by the expensive skiing trips. I'm still planning rebuilding some CAD ideas, but I just don't find enough time. Nice ideas for a winter theme would be a chairlift (1 or 2-seater) with 9v motor and Mountain Structure. Still having somethin like that on demand, but I'll need a small hill to put it up when built, like some books or next winter a snow pile in the garden, since I'm lacking enough pieces to make a proper mountain from lego bricks only. mFg Widdi

Nice review to my favourite set ever. This was the first big 1000+ piece set, I got back in 1997. Saved a long time for this beast, back then. It's still assembeld, after having the Alternate model built for a few years. I've rebuild it to it's original state in 2005, but some stickers are worn out and don't hold up perfectly, anymore. But they're still all on it, since they were the clear ones, not the newer white stickers, which keep peeling off through the years. mFg Widdi
-
nice holiday scene. But it would've been better to use some white bricks or plates on the baseplate for a snow cover, instead of using a white baseplate. Like I did with my sigfig house a while back. I think that's more realistic. mFg Widdi
-
Those new City sets look amazing. *Want's to break a bank *. I'll try to get some of them within their livespan. I especially like the Farm sets with the combine. I won't get those in winter, since my other hobby and my car take it up. mFg Widdi

I wish I could find this set some day (including the right baseplate). Some of my House MOCs are styled after the classic 6349. And sometimes I've rebuilt it after Instruction Scans exchanging the baseplate (I don't own one of these) with 2 at 16x32 each. And this city house out of an older thread of mine. It's offensive, that I've used styling elements of 6349's just enlarged. In terms of interior details: Not much, but still enough for classic town. I voted outstanding mFg Widdi
