  1. This is my first pic review released here on eurobricks. I didn't take many pictures, since this is just a simple classic Town car. This set was released way back in 1980 and I obtained it 26 years after it's release from a german seller, which offers many old LEGO sets in his ebay shop. It was in very good used condition for it's age, but the hat was replaced with the sheriff's hat from the 1996 western sets The car is a simple and boxy, but classy design with an openable engine compartment and an huge Antenna attached on the rear. It is a simple build with only 35pcs, but packs the classic SNOT lights technique. Here are the pics this are all pieces dumped in a box , coming from a computer game. There aren't many pieces, when you look at that. There are two decent alternates, too. The first is a funny sports or race car something and the second a micro convertible This is the weird race/sports-car something in it's complete view This is the cute micro car, which looks so much like a smart, that was transformed to a convertible and the early 80s And this is the main model when assembled and made up like on the Instruction cover. The cowboy is just looking under the hood now, and surprise: Noe ngine in the engine compartment. So no wonder why his car won't start. But as with all classic lego sets this issue can be easily fixed. This time, by simply adding two round 1x1 plates under the hood Overall verdict: 8,75/10 points - A blast from the golden age of LEGO Town ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Design: 7/10 - very boxy Build: 9/10 - simple and effective Sturdyness: 10/10 - survives the table fall easily Fun: 9/10 - blast from the past ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- mFg Widdi
  2. I'm quite late to reply, but I really like this classic lego style to it. This is in fact older than me, because I'm born in 1988, which is 5 years after this beauty was released. I'd really like to get this one, since I'm hooked on classic LEGO like that. mFg Widdi EDIT: 7.11.2009! Got it yesterday at the M.O.C munich at the creativmesse for a hefty price and in great condition. Will write up a review for that, when I find the time mFg Widdi
  3. V-LV-08C & V-LV-08D This pair is another one of many other CAD creations, made by me. This are two crazy cars, which are scale-wise inspired by the 2006 Batmobile set. 1. The Painkiller This is the complete overview of this futuristic and evil looking ride. It's based of an extremely intense Judas Priest song from the 1990 Painkiller-CD. The car itself features a skull ornament, which uses the most part of the front, an huge supercharged V12 engine and two mufflers. The minifig has to lie a bit back, since the whole car sits low on the ground and even the cockpit is sitting rather low. The build was of an intermediate difficulty to me, mostly because of the skull and keeping it riding low. There are 217, mostly more recent pieces, and in LEGO prices it would be a solid 15€-20€ set. 2. Night Crawler This is the second of the priest rides. The song is rather morbid, and so is the car. It is futuristic and evil looking, due to the use of the orange Dino Tails as horns, which are found in the claw crusher. The model is shorter, than the Painkiller, but still has a huge V10 engine in the rear. I included two mufflers, too which are attached side by side. This one is again made up of more recent pieces and sits low to ground. It is again far too wide for the classic city layouts. Technically it was an intermediate build, due to keeping the car low on the ground. At 174 pieces this would sell at 15€ Complete instructions are in my Brickshelf vehicles folder mFg Widdi
  4. This is my latest CAD-Build. It is a victorian styled haunted mansion, wich was abandoned for many years now. I've made full instructions, like I do with all my CAD-MOCs, but these aren't rendered, too, due problems with POVRay. This is it in all it's morbid glory *skull* . it's build upon the Paradisa/Alpha Team 3d-Baseplate. The building stands slightly raised over the ground and features 3 floors and stands on an abandoned estate in a run-down area. The building is very run-down, too but has an open backside for playability and so far an interior. The interior is different in each floor: The ground floor is furnished with a strangely still glowing oven and a desolate dining room furniture including a skeleton lying right on the table. The 1st floor has a big, but damaged canopy bed, with a skellie just lying on it. The third floor has no furniture, but a witch, who waits at the window looking for guests to scare. I didn't include a classig LEGO ghost, since I don't have a ghost cape in my program, but a headless ghost stands on the roof, which is a fine replacement for the classic ghost. The garden has two dead trees and a pit with another skeleton inside. I included a gate with a fence, too. now to the Technical notes: While having an open backside, this house still counts 521 parts (peeron), due to the detailed facade. It was an medium difficult build for me, since I didn't use SNOT, but had some rough building parts, due to some window shapes. If this would be an official set, it would be selling for 50€ to 60€. As with most of my MOCs, I'm stuck to classic 80s-to 90s style, with open backsides in the buildings. mFg Widdi PS: The complete instructions are in This brickshelf folder
  5. This is one of my more Recent CAD-Builds It is a recreation of a classic german Local train, with Silberling passenger cars. Most of these classic passenger cars are still in service here in germany, but rebuilt into several mostly interior designs and repainted into the recent Red/grey colour-sheme of the DB regio. The train is composed of three parts. The first one is the DB 212 Diesel Engine, which is highly inspired by Mijaspers and Erpelmutz's versions in 8- and 7-wide, but brought to the 6-wide train standard. This is the Engine in all it's glory. Sorry for the bad screen, because I couldn't render it due to a mistake in Constructing it, since I've deleted the previous roof and forgot to remove it from the Engine. I made this engine in a blue version instead of red, since the trainset bases on the actual trains, that were used on my Local railway route, which were used on it until the early to mid 90s, before the modern DMUs of the BR628 were used. The original V100s or DB 212s were in a red colour sheme. The second part is a mixed 1st and 2nd class car, which was built between 1961 and 1980, like the others of the ca. 5000-6000 units. There are completely 2nd class compartment cars, too. The 1st class compartment spawns the whole middle part of the coach. The 2nd class compartments are just in the front and the rear of the car. It is a whopping 64 studs long, altough I shortened it a bit. Without doing this it would have turned out at 70 studs or even more. The third part is the classic Karlsruhe cab car, which was built between 1971 and 1977. It turned out at 65 studs, but only because of skipping a baggage door and a window. The front was quite difficult to recreate with LEGO bricks, due to it's 4-window shape. Right behind the cab for the driver is a baggage area, for bicycles, etc. and the rest of the car is composed by 2nd class compartments. Technical: I used some SNOT and kept a very high accuracy for the whole set. So it was a quite difficult and long build (three sessions at 3-4 hours each), due to the piece count and details. Overall it's my biggest Train MOC to date. It has 1649 parts according to my CAD program, but since I used some submodels multiple times it's a bit more I think somewhere between 1700 and 1800pcs. Peeron for example reads 1715 parts. Calculated to Lego prices of about 0,10€/part ignoring the 9v train motor it would sell at about 170€. With an motor it would be 190€ or even 200€. You can get the complete instructions in my brickshelf folder mFg Widdi PS: I would really like to built this thing in real bricks, but I haven't the parts in the right colors in my 75000 piece collection and not enough money to buy the needed parts at bricklink :-( PPS: The idea came to my mind, after a train ride in Early november 2006 with a rebuilt Silberling coach consist.
