    MOC: Townhouse

This is one of my older builds. I built it way back in 2005. it is just the classic town house from the 1997 Lego island PC game, made up like an official set from the Mid-90s. It has an open back and an interior. The ground floor holds a small kitchen, the hallway and a living room, which is unfortunately hard to access due to the big chimney. the upper floor has a simple bedroom for the couple, which owns this small house. I've included a little bit of exterior scenery with details, everything squeezed on just a single 32x16 baseplate. This is the whole house in an aerial view. This shows the whole interior through the open rear. The couple is outside, drinking something and doesn't notice, that they forgot their Pizzas inside ;-) This is a front view of this classic beauty. Including the exterior with a small mail box, plants and furniture I've made some instructions, back in 2004 in this Folder mFg Widdi
  2. This is one of my older CAD-Builds. It is a 8-story office tower with some Art-Deco styling elements, like the round bricks, which are in almost every floor. It doesn't have an open rear, but an extremely cramped interior, since I squeezed it on a simple 32x16 base with just 14 studs building width. The ground floor has a lounge and a small cafeteria. The upper seven floors are offices with partially different styling. The roof, looks a bit 1920-ish and has a little antenna on top. The instructions have quite small pics, because it's not modular, since I didn't know much about the modularity back in early 2006. It's intended to hold up to 15 minifigs in it's rooms. BTW: This is another one, which I would like to build in real bricks, too, but lacking the parts in their right colors and the money to buy them off BL. This is it, It's a quite small shot, due to the extreme height for just a smaller minifig-building. It's looking a bit phallic, but that's coincidence. Notice the narrowing shape when raising to the upper floors The complete instructions (61 steps) are here! PS: There are some mistakes (wrong part at step 15) in the instructions since I built this partially when very tired late at night (until 3am in two sessions). mFg Widdi
  3. No it's not my own design, I only did some little Mods to the base model. It's actually one of the 30 model designs, which can be built from the LDD instructions to the set 10183. The car is made of the "leftovers" and goes well with it. mFg Widdi
  4. I've built a small Classic passenger car with the Hobby Train kit plus two minifigs, to go with the nice little black steam engine of the same set. It is based on the classic blue era train kit 131, but rebuilt to Minifig scale in Hobby Train colors. I used SNOT for the steps to the entry platforms at both ends of the car. I built it in Real bricks and made some CAD instructions for it after building. The couplers are a bit offset, due to the odd lenght of 18 studs and the use of a 2x6 along with a 6x16 plate for the base. Now on to the Pics This is the black steam engine from set 10183 with a cotton steam and the car attached. This is a side view of the car. those pillars are just the black lightsaber blades stuck into a round 1x1 brick. The doors can't be opened since I wanted the scale fitting to the engine and those black boxes are for the car electrics. This is the roof from below. Its just 3 train roofs and a 1x1 plates for the interior lights. This is the interior with the 3 roof bricks taken off. It's just 3 seats. As with all of my MOCs, I've made some instructions, which can be found here! mFg Widdi
  5. I've got a megaBloks Racecar and used the 2x1 slope tiles of MB in a few small classic city cars, while back. They're compactible, and don't destroy the looks too much, but only if I WANT piece shapes in it, that LEGO hasn't made yet. Any other of my Brickshelf MOCs are pure LEGO. The virtual and of course the real ones. Besides that I'm a complete LEGO purist. mFg Widdi
  6. I didn't notice this thread until now. Anyway I'll show some of my favourite pictures out of my maj-account. They were taken from 2005 until present. Pictures are only resized, so original colors. This was taken in september 2005 on vacation in South tyrol, Italy at 2450m asl. This is a mountain formation called the three cimes. Sunlight in wintry forest on 27-11-2005 A steam engine refueling water at a rural narrow gauge heritage line in the erz mountains. Shot mid-december 2005 This one is from 7-3-2006. A few days after a heavy snowfall occured in my region in southern bavaria. 50cm of snow+me on skis=winter wonderland pictures Nice evening sunlight in the dolomites on 24-07-2006. Went swimming there on that day. There are many more scenic and technical pictures in my maj.com gallery mFg Widdi
  7. Got this in September 2006 along with the old 6627 car off ebay. Just 29 years after it's initial release. The pieces were in very good condition, considering the age of now 30 years. There were no missing pieces. It is a compact forklift truck with instructions for a total of 3 models and inspirations for 3 more. the two instruction plans were in good condition, but showed some wear due to their age. And they've no piece callouts, since they weren't invented in Lego sets back then. Now on to the Pictures: First this are all pieces of the set in one of my old inner boxes. Since I'm building the alternate(s) in small and medium Technic sets first I'm starting with the third model: Third model: Weird Machine-thing This is more or less some sort of elevator on wheels. It has one function. A mechanism to raise the bucket up and down. I didn't take pictures of it, since I got in trouble when building. But it's not a great alternate, either, which brings me to a verdict of 5/10 for this model Second model: Grader An open grader, which is quite huge considering the low piece Count at 210pcs. in this set. It was a fairly easy build, despite of the non existing piece callouts, which were first introduced in 1979 and on both models of the boxes in 1992. It features a very blocky steering mechanism, which works ok and a static plow. This model can be motorized with the old 4,5v motor from set 870, but the classic (90s) 9v motor can be used, too. Here's the mechanism from below, just taken after assembling this model. And this is the whole 70s beauty of a simple grader. It's rather blocky, but classic looking. It's much better than the second alternate and gets to an 7/10, due too the looks. Main Model: Forklift This is the main model. It's very compact for the age of the design. it has two functions. the first is the blocky rear wheel steering mechanism, which doesn't always work, because of it's blockyness. the second is the working fork, which is powered by a pulley wheel moving just four gears, linking to the fork's rack. The build was partly modular, since the mechanical parts are built first and just attached in the chassis process. This are the whole forklift forks, after building their module. in the farther process it's just trapped between mechanism and chassis front. This is the steering, which is made of six turntables, a rack and numerous pieces This is the chassis at step 8, just before adding the forks and steering wheel. The column is mostly plain basic and some technic. And this is the finished model with the large steering wheel and the blocky seat. The levers don't have any functions Model verdict: A blast from the past with many functions for something this old at 9/10 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Set verdict: Design and Models: 7/10, very boxy designs, due to the age and bad second alternate Build: 9/10 Classic early technic building. Simple and effective Sturdyness: 8/10: Sturdy, but some damage after the table fall Fun: 9/10 Blast from the past. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Overall: 8,25/10 Points - Blast from the early days of Lego Technic. mFg Widdi

  11. Now that's good news, bbut since I've got very limited amounts of money I won't pay for uploading to the page. I think that this monthly 5$ fee is just for some kind of an Premium account, like I've seen on various train/flight simulator fanpages. But my small maj.com lego corner will stay there for a while, since I can't really thrust BS anymore. Luckily my folder is backed up on the HD. mFg Widdi
  12. My favourite Folders apart, from some you've just linked here are: Legomaneitaliano's (salvobrick's on Eb) gallery You've just got to look at his great Town MOCs, with the spirit from Lego's golden age Lbaixinho's Gallery and tbaixinho's gallery with MOCs spread over most genres and open backsides on most of their buildings. Some of the folders are empty for whatever reason. Ben's gallery You've simply got to look at his Steam engines. Misterzumbi's gallery This guy has various extremely detailed MOCs spread over multiple genres. James Mathis's gallery This one is a must look. It has plenty of instructions and MOCs mostly for trains and some factory-based creations. Widdi's (my) Gallery. Mostly CAD and some real brick, as well as some events and not to mention the best work until now (the Silberling-Local train) too bad, these will be gone soon. But I'll try to save all these gallerys on my computer within the deadline. my BS to maj. moving will continue in August. First I'll enjoy these gallerys and loading them to my HD and later CDs/DVDs. mFg Widdi
  13. I didn't have any dark ages. I only had one almost complete collection break in 2003 only, but since 2004, I'm still going strong, although brickshelf is dead for now (or ever?) and this won't stop me. The only bad thing, that my brick collection isn't that great, lacking greys etc. But I'm a CAD-Moccer, where I have some my best works until today (reuploading-process getting ON tomorrow). mFg Widdi
  14. I'm just beginning to move my old BS-content over to maj.com. The Renderings will get up on there, too ASAP, which means when I found enough time to rehash them out of my CAD-Files. I'm still hoping, that BS gets resurrected but hopefully not as a pay-site. If it gets profit, I'll wait until a new FREE Lego-Image hosting server comes around, which is just a matter of time.
  15. What the megablock. Luckily I was able to save my MOC-Pics. So my only loss are the BrickingBavaria event pics from 2005. My CAD-Mocs will come up to maj.com if I find the time to rerender and the rest of the old BS gallery, too. I hope that such a thing doesn't occur with maj.com, too and I'm doing regular backups now, so that I never get into such trouble again. And a maj.com dead would be an even worser thing for me, since I'm keeping all! my non-Lego Images there and this are about 1000. My loss is est. 5-15% and much work resulting due to that mFg Widdi
  16. Great, then I'm able to rescue all my content. I'll try this with BSBackup. Whoops: BSbackup only links to the normal http: I'll take my real brick-builds only. The renders can be made again.
  17. I'll have to check my whole digital photo sticks, if pics from the gallery are still on them, I'll only have to download and resize them, but that will cost hours. And then get them up to maj.com if this is permanent. my render instructions from early 2003 to present are still complete as CAD-Files on the HD, but It will be much work rendering especially the later ones again. Some of my pics are gone meanwhile, with a loss of 50 to 65% from not too many real brick pics. Upgrade: My pictures from 2006-present are still there, but most from 2005 are gone now. Therefore my italian restaurant and various other city houses/buildings. For new pics I'll might have to rebuilt them someday. But this isn't a big problem, since I always make instructions to them. Only the first snow groomer is completeley lost now, and I won't rebuild it again, due to the better 2006 follow-up. mFg Widdi
  18. I'm hoping that these are just serious server problems. Since maj.com still works fine and accepts my BS-login and my non-lego pictures taken recently. Without brickshelf all my lego pictures are gone. If it gets back up again (with hopefully all content), I'll immediatly try to backup my BS-folders on the HD or maj, so that I won't get in such trouble again. *n* :-X mFg Widdi
  19. I just wanted to surf it recently, and then I got this message: Brickshelf has discontinued operation. We apologize for any inconvenience. What the megablocks is up with Brickshelf, since I just was up there about an half-to one hour before checking the news. Normally this would've been announced somewhere. has anybody further knowledge about this? mFg Widdi
  20. Another time almost a year late: *digsthreadoutofarchive* My vote went for 6380, too, since it's so classic looking. And very easy to rebuild with classic town parts, too. Sadly I don't have this set, but rebuilt it by instruction scans various times through the years. mFg Widdi
  21. Oops I'm a year late, but I voted for 6398. First it's the only station that I own and it's still the piece-wise tallest Police Station ever made.I really like it's two and four level structures and the fact that it doesn't have any juniorization or raised baseplate. The vehicles are great on this one, but the Jeep doesn't do much for me. It would've been better if they included a prisoner transporter instead. But other than that it's a classic town beauty. And it brings back memories, since I got this beast back on christmas 1993. it's pieces are now shattered in my ca. 75000 piece collection. mFg Widdi
  22. I'm stuck to the classic 4-wide cars and trucks and 6-wide trains, because I love the old Town/Train sets from 80s-mid90s. Any MOC, which I'm doing in Real brick or CAD is more or less inspired by the style of old Classic town sets. Only few MOCs like the Judas Priest show cars have a scale of 8-wide. And most of my train MOCs are 6-wide, but in the lenghts often close to the real things. just look at my 70s-style German local train. It's 6-wide, but packs in details like an 7 or even an 8-wide. The current scale-system with 4-5wide Cars, 6-wide trucks and 8-wide Big Rigs is nice, but my vote goes to 4-wide cars. 6-wide Cars, if not a SUV or a 50s-70s US car, are just too bulky for my taste. mFg Widdi
  23. I made these two Snow groomers a while back in the winters of 2005 and 2006. Both are small real Brick MOCs, but I've got a slightly altered CAD-version with instructions for them, too. 1. v1.0 from February 2005 I'll start with the first edition, which I made way back in early February 2005. I used the <insert that tiresome argument> Threads and the front plow of my 6573 set. Most of the underbody was supplied by the Arctic Expedition set, too. The Cab, is heavily inspired by classic Town trucks. It has a 10-wide rear plow, too, where I used 5 Minifig hips and legs, too make it look right. here's the whole Real Brick built model. The snow on the picture is real. The groomer is quite simple and has some room on the backside. The snow scooter is classic 90s style, too, but with an Arctic MF. This is the groomer only viewed from back at the table in the Living room. And now the link to the instructions folder at brickshelf The whole CAD version contains only 127 pieces including the 3 figs, because it has an additional MF on skis, that is missing in the real version. The built was easy with little SNOT and the low piece count, it would be 10-15€ calculated to lego prices. Sorry, for some color errors, didn't find the black slopes. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. v2.0 made in February 2006 I've built this version about one year later, in another great winter. Meanwhile, I've recieved a lot of the classic technic chainlinks with the Sandcrawler set for Xmas. And I just had to use them for the underbody, since my previous version was slightly, too simplified. For the built I've reused the front plow from set 6573 and the rear plow design od the earlier one, but with blue minifig legs. The underbody is made up of mostly technic bricks, due to the chainlinks. The cab is altered from the early version, with a different rear window. and the rear is 2 studs shorter and no scooter as supply, but a skier. This is the whole MOC and again actual and fresh snow on the picture, so the threads now leave marks and add more realism on the photo. There are some tools behind the cab, like the shovel and the radio and even a set of skis in the whole cargo compartment. this is the rear view from the living room table. It's altered compared to the old version stated above. I made instructions for the set, too. it contains now 203pcs and was a medium difficult build for something that small. Calculated to lego prices it would sell at 15€ - 20€. This is the CAD render, only some color change in parts and no 4-long bars for the skis in the RBB-version Instructions are found here! mFg Widdi.
  24. Yes but, the real train consists back in the days had the same problem. Since the carriages are a bit more than double the size of the locomotive at 26,4 metres each, but the V100/BR 212 engines are only 12,1 metres long. here's a picture of a similar consist to my train-MOC, without the Karlsruhe Cab, but another one of the multiple types of those old Silberling carriages/Cab cars and a red engine, but the same type. I hope, that the picture, taken in may 1977 (not by me, found it on the web, since I wasn't born until 1988) gives any justice to the dimensions. mFg Widdi
  25. Nice pics and a impressive and really classic (due to Basic brick usage) set. *wub* I might pick up this beast, but it's very pricey to me. I think it would be at 199 € here in Germany, since the Statue of liberty had this price tag, too in the last years of Availability through LEGO and both are in the same leguage of monumental sets. But here's the problem: I don't have that much money at the moment. >:-( mFg Widdi
